Come Hans’ return, I actually want confirmation that he believes Elsa knowingly froze Anna’s heart. Anna didn’t give him the details:

Anna: Elsa struck me with her powers

Hans: You said she’d never hurt you

Anna: I was wrong

That’s it. That’s all Hans heard about the sisters’ scuffle. It’s only logical for him to think that Elsa meant to attack Anna, and it establishes his altogether negative views on sibling relationships.

I can absolutely picture that, while whatever member of the Frohana (probably Elsa. This carries the most weight with her,) is horrified that Hans can even think that anything about nearly killing Anna was deliberate, and all Hans can do is shrug and say, “My brother stabbed me with a bayonet once. That’s similar, right?”
