I know it never happened but I don't care. I want the rogues to have been slightly bemused at the concept of a Robin, so when they kidnap them or interact them they are a little playful with them or at very least, remember they're kids and act accordingly.

Like Two Face asking what the terms and conditions they agreed to in their contract with Batman. Do they get breaks? Are they entitled to benefits? And Harvey is trying not to laugh when Robin rattles off contract law to a bewildered Batman and demands extra dessert privileges in recompense.

The Riddler patiently repeating riddles or making them kid friendly, always looking so proud when they crack a riddle before getting annoyed because the fun is over? But Batman, look how clever this kid is? Are you watching?

Harley who capers and jokes around for the amusement of Robin, mainly because Joker is doing something that no kid should see and despite everything, she's doing her best to distract them from something that will scar them deeply and that's not funny, even if Mister J says it is.

But eventually the shift happens and rogues no longer care that it's a kid in the cape or they're too jaded to pretend any of this is a game any more. But there was a time.

nice pair of characters who trust each other more than anyone else in the whole entire world it would sure be a shame if one of them betrayed that trust for the sake of trying to keep the other alive. it would sure be a shame to love someone so much you destroy them

pratchett is such an insanely good writer like it still floors me sometimes how good he was at putting together a book. you read the phrase "you do the job that's in front of you" one million times in night watch and sometimes it's about vimes stepping into his mentor's role in history and sometimes it's about cops who keep their heads down when bad things happen to people and sometimes it's about clearing off your own gravestone every year and sometimes it's just about surviving the barricades and the phrase picks up steam and meaning every single time until you get to the end. the revolution was always going to happen and the lilac was always going to bloom. they did the job they didn't have to do and they died for it🪻🥚

been having thoughts for days abt how unrealistic it is for Scarecrow's colleagues to dislike him because he's bookish and poorly dressed. that describes a majority of my professors & its not even for lack of resources that they dress like That™️.

Jonathan crane shoots fear toxin out of a garden hose

Okay, but this actually sounds like something he’d do.

Jonathan gets mad because Walmart isn’t stocking his favorite brand of burlap  anymore so he heads over to the lawn and garden center and buys a hose. Then he goes home and builds a contraption that looks suspiciously like a bagpipe except it sprays out toxin in gas form. Crane heads back to Walmart with his new weapon and ransacks the place, shooting his fear toxin everywhere. Walmart is closed down and they replace with a Target. Luckily, they do carry his favorite brand of burlap, so they’re safe….for now.
