Perhaps underrated. And slightly deprived of fairness. It is not much less impressive than Coba, but will tell you all about it soon!

It has been magical. There is so much to write, to share.. Coming soon
March 2017
Iasi, what a crazy place, I loved it! They use GVB buses for public transport, no kidding. At first I thought I was hallucinating due to the sleep deprivation caused by the night train trip, but I wasn't. After the awesome wedding we had a whole day to spend in Iasi. Giving well-prepared tourists a bad name, we had absolutely no idea where to go and what to do. As a result we just started walking aimlessly and of course quickly found the main street leading to the palace (apparently). We were interested in something local for lunch, however there were definitely more churches on that street than places that served food, combined with somehow old atmosphere. After a sad but filling visit to pizza hut we decided to check the palace out. From unimpressed I quickly transformed to amazed! Behind the palace (actually in front of it!) there was another dimension, another world covered in green well-maintained grass. Young people, kids, dogs, a shopping mall, fancy restaurants, fountains, ponds, Bose speakers inserted in the grass, all overlooked by the majestic palace, standing above them almost like a guardian. To think that we almost missed that place! Before jumping to night train adventure part 2, we stopped for dinner at a Cuban/South American restaurant, called of course Buena Vista (thanks trip advisor). This place was literally in the middle of nowhere and they had menu cards only in Romanian and Spanish. But we were fine! Turns out not only do I understand Spanish on a restaurant level, but Romanian as well. After all, only the Danube stands between us and we share quite a vocabulary. And the food was amazing! Ah, what a trip! Iasi, July 2014
The main reason for my first trip to Romania was , of course, a wedding! The festivities were to happen around 400km north of the capital and the time we could devote to Bucharest was limited. I was very excited to visit the main city of our northern neighbours, and somehow had decided that Bucharest was going to remind me of my Sofia... Didn't happen. As it's nickname suggests (Little Paris), it would rather remind you of the French capital indeed. The historical old town had been nicely renovated, but to my dismay turned into a tasteless, but overpriced entertainment area covered with tacky bars and noisy restaurants, welcoming you with cheep-looking hostesses in front. Where were our people?? I had almost given up, when we came across this open-air happening next to a train standing at one of the Gara de Nord's platforms, attended by what seemed to be the alternative and hipsteresque youth. Finally, here they were! Bucharest was charming, but it required your patience to realize it! Now I could calmly proceed to the 7hr night train adventure direction Iasi. Bucharest, July 2014.
P.S. I noticed quite some bike alleys and people on bikes respectively. Well done, Bucharest! Did you hear that, Fandakova?
Berlin! 3rd time is the charm! Real feel temperature might be close to -20, but being surrounded by concrete, believe it or not, keeps me warm. After all I grew up in the east block and this place somehow feels like home. Kreuzberg, February 2013.
Bairro Alto, Lisbon’s energetic ‘entertainment area’ (you gotta love this expression) has a lot to offer. On our way to a Time Out magazine party we stop at a popular bar called Pensão Amor, I hear it used to be a brothel. The drawings on the staircase can confirm that, I guess. At the bar I order red wine and the barman asks which one I prefer- from the Lisbon area or the North region? I have no idea what I want and he pours me two glasses, to investigate both tastes. I go for the North one. I keep loving this city. Outstanding 4 days! Amazing local friends who hosted us! I will come back for sure! The question is: how long will I stay next time? :) Lisbon, September 2012
Elevador da Gloria, like a bridge linking Baixa to Bairro Alto. Street art in the make. More breathtaking beauty.
I am head over heels. Lisbon, September 2012
Alfama District! Beautiful, colorful, emotional, powerful. The moment I set foot in Lisbon, I fell in love. September, 2012
Berlin-Friedrichshain. Dark, minimalist, your truly. February, 2012
¡ Madrid ! Friendly, spacious, lavish in culture and fun! It surrounds you with art everywhere you go.The pee smell floating in the air in the party district was also pretty impressive. Finally, El Rastro flea market -a vibrant must-see (and normally I am not a big fan of markets). December, 2011
As cousin Avi beautifully put it in Snatch: “Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup ‘o tea, bad food…” Yes you know the rest. And they really enjoy telling you what to do there. London, March 2009
Paris, Version 2.0. A modern love story (as usual), however not involving Eiffel towers, baguettes, croissants etc.
Let’s play a game. Or two, or more. Then we kiss… We run away together… And then you shoot me through the heart with AK-47! Ah, you little devil! I will always love you!
Paris, April 2012
In Sweden for a day. No sign of IKEA,H&M or reindeer. Actually, I could sense a pretty interesting vibe of new meets old. Next stop, Stockholm I suppose. Malmö, October 2008
Amsterdam, I cheated on you with “New Amsterdam”, and I liked it! New York, July 2013
High levels of wisdom surround your walk on the high line.
New York, we meet again! July, 2013
