Some feel detachted from the conflict Elsa is going through in Frozen II compared to Frozen I because her transformation into a spirit makes her inhuman and who on earth could possibly relate to that, right? What her conflict truly is about is finally accepting what makes you different from others, the risk of going into the unknown to discover who you are and fully embracing yourself, making yourself feel at home inside yourself - considering yourself a friend, someone you’ve always known.

Quite honestly, I think “spirit” and her magical abilities can be considered a placeholder for literally anything like- You are LGBT+? Show yourself! You are mentally ill? Show yourself! You are physically disabled? Show yourself!  You generally feel different because normal rules do not apply? Freaking show yourselfs! You are the one you’ve been always waiting for.

I personally don’t feel like her transformation makes her any less human.

*FROZEN SPOILER* Hi :) I just saw Frozen today and loved it!! Now I’m trying to hunt down a gif or movie clip of Elsa making ice sculptures to those young children, and that one boy comes up and asks her for some sort of geometrical Galileo device (that’s What it looked like at least..) do you know if it’s been made into a gif or There’s a clip of it somewhere? 😊
