It was bound to come out eventually; Webby was an awful liar, as anyone who knew her had to be aware, and there was only so long that she could act like nothing had happened without raising suspicion. Still, if given a choice between Granny finding out now or later…

Later was the better option.

In spite of herself, though, Webby couldn’t stop a small giggle as Huey related his own experience. He was probably the last member of the family who Webby would have expected to light a tent on fire - much less get away with it - but Huey’s recounting of the story was working; it was definitely putting the familiar smile back on her face.

“Yeah, yeah, that sounds good. Let’s do it!”

Ice cream made everything better; and Webby rather suspected that Huey knew that just as surely as she did.

Huey Indeed did. He'd tell her when they got home though he figured Beakly already knew. She always knew things somehow. But for now webby needed to feel goood not swim in her guilt. He'd been there with his uncle more times than he cared to think about.

In all honesty, Webby was a little nonplussed that Huey’s guidebook had actually agreed with her for once. She was so used to it just saying that nothing that was real was real, that she almost wasn’t sure how to respond to this development.

“Um… what else, exactly, does the guidebook say about it?”

Not that she put much stock in the book, even now; but the girl couldn’t help but be a little curious. Just how comprehensive did the guidebook go on the topics it did cover, anyway? It was such a tiny little thing - nothing compared to Scrooge’s giant encyclopedia of the world that a younger Webby had spent many, many hours poring over - so it really couldn’t have that much to say, could it?

We need rotten egg and a good fake voice. We are going to hide rancid eggs, skunk scent, and some of uncle Donalds rap album around waddle. Then we start a rumor that waddle is using toxins harmful to the invironment and testing on animals. It’ll both hurt his rep and just really mess with him. That scent does NOT come out. We had to mov ed once after easter

While Webby had no objection to causing property damage for the sake of a friend, the fact that it was the best thing Huey had ever heard took Webby a little by surprise. Maybe, she would grant, she was taking the sentiment a little too literally, but all the same…

“Okay, sounds good!“

Also didn’t sound too illegal either - the most they could be charged with, if it came to that, was breaking and entering, which wasn’t too hard to wiggle out of - but then again, this was Huey she was talking to. Actually, she was mildly surprised he was willing to go even this far.

“So, you got all these things prepared already, or…?”

“Aw, Huey… yeah, you totally were. But it’s all cool.”

An eyebrow shot upwards at the red-clad boy’s immediate next words, but Webby kind of shrugged them off. She registered them, of course, but didn’t really interpret them as anything more serious than Huey wanted to compliment her and didn’t know what else to say. It was a nice sentiment, if awkwardly expressed.

She frowned thoughtfully at Huey’s follow-up, however. Tapped her chin.

“Hm. I, um… I dunno. But Granny literally deals with leftover supernatural stuff from Scrooge’s old relics all the time; how much more of a problem than that could one dog be?”

Plus… she, Webby, would love to encounter a dog that big. As such, her answer may be just a liiiittle bit biased.
