Hi there! How is your son? Are his legs healing up?

Hi there. I don’t have any kids, it was my legs that were injured. You’ll be happy to know i got to see a doctor and rheumatologist, and I’m starting to create a plan to heal my legs. They’re doing better, but aren’t completely healed. I can walk a distance without crutches now, so that’s something. thank you for the concern, i really appreciate it

To the Christians that see this, please pray that my legs get better soon, and without surgery. They've been injured for 7 months now and they're not getting better. I'm frustrated from living like this, and so scared about the possibility of surgery. I can't seem to call down, I'm too nervous. Just pray, please

Ok but the “Plans go astray” line hits me so much harder than the one I used for the ask meme I just did, especially because of Finnley. Yes I’m gonna ramble about it.

I mean, the reaction I expect to see to Jim admitting he’s got plans to improve his reputation is not the kind of reflective warning Silver gives him. It’s so easy to tell that Silver is speaking from a position of experience, and he probably sees himself in Jim when he was that age. A young aspiring lad who wants to improve his life with these grand schemes. And once his family came into the picture, of course he was quick to resolve that he’s going to spoil them with the treasure and live happily ever after. 

And then things take a HUGE nosedive.

His wife dead. Their ship in shambles. I’m debating if Finnley had a twin or something cuz both bears and hyenas have multiple offspring at once, but if she did that kid would either be dead or missing. And Finnley herself has to be given up to an orphanage just to keep her safe. If any part of Silver’s old plan remained, it would be to find that treasure even faster so he can take her back before she gets adopted.

His plan went greatly astray. And then, with a doubtful face, Silver goes to adjust his stiff cybernetic leg. You know that had to be at least partly deliberate, to further enforce his warning to Jim. He hurts so much from all he’s lost, and would be crushed if his new son-figure would experience the same things he did. It’s too late for Silver, but Jim? His life is just starting.

🖊🖊 here’s an idea, how about for Silver?

I’ll take the two emojis as two different lines. So the first one is when Silver explains how he found Morph:

“He's... a Morph. I rescued the little shapeshifter on Proteus One.” [Morph transforms back and floats over the Silver; they cuddle each other.]: “Aw, he took a shine to me. We've been together ever since.”

Why I’m gushing about this one? Well this is just more proof that this old sea dog is nothing but a big softie. While being a pirate and searching for the treasure, he still takes it upon himself to go out of his way to save this lil shmoo, and now they’re bffs. And Silver will cuddle the babby in front of everyone without shame. Big. Old. Cuddle bear.

Ok, time for a tone shift.

“You give up a few things...chasin' a dream. “

This is more of a meta than a gush, and probably stating the obvious, but it gets a lot more painful factoring in my characters. Silver stares in retrospect at his metal hand. He feels it, he feels through it, but it doesn’t feel like him. Maybe it never will. Silver gave up more than just his physical body parts in pursuit of the treasure. He gave up the chance at a ‘safe’ life, albeit in poverty. He gave up his status as a law abiding citizen, possibly for good. 

He gave up his daughter, now safe yet far away from him. He’d never have the family he dreamed of. The Lord only knows where she is now....

He gave up on himself. After how far he’s come, how much he’s done...this is who he’s turned himself into. We as the audience see that’s not entirely true, especially as the movie progresses. But to him...there’s no going back now. Now that there’s nothing left to lose except his very life, he’s going to put his all into getting Flint’s trove, and that mechanical arm, stiff metal leg, and half-computerized vision will serve as the physical symbols of his sacrifices, reminders of the price he paid, and motivation to finish this treasure hunt.

“Was it worth it?” “Heh. [sighs] I'm hoping it is, Jimbo. I most surely am.”
