Sam Claflin and Stef Dawson about Mockingjay Part 2
What I love about the two necklaces that Finnick wears is he’s wearing this big flashy necklace that’s probably from the Capitol and that his stylist probably put on him. And then the small necklace is something I’d like to imagine that Annie made him and Finnick probably hid it and put it on last minute so that he could have it with him.
Odesta+their baby first steps.
Finnick stared into his son’s wide, sea-green eyes and sighed out of sheer boredom. The boy hadn’t moved for a good twenty minutes, and neither had Finnick; they were both sitting on the livingroom floor, staring at each other. “You’re gonna miss it. It’s gonna happen soon, I can feel it in my gut.” Finnick told her wife, who’s nose was buried into a book on the couch. He could see her suppressing a smile upon hearing his words, shaking her head.
“I am not gonna miss it,” Annie answered, not even bothering to glance at her husband, “And you said that last week.”
For the past few days, their son had been making attempts at standing up on his own - wobbly and unsteady - feet, immediately giving Finnick the idea that the boy was going to take his first steps any coming day. It had been adorable to Annie, at first - both Noah and Finnick’s behaviour, their sea-green eyes wide, Noah’s with child-like curiosity and Finnick’s with sheer excitement.
But days went past and eventually turned into weeks. Annie had turned her attention to other matters, while Finnick was completely stuck, lost in the thought of seeing his son’s first steps and being there to witness it. He spent nearly his every waking moment with Noah, squealing out Annie’s name every time the boy did so much as attempt to stand up on his feet.
And yet, nothing had happened. Not yet, at least, said Finnick.“Ever the optimist, aren’t you,” he said to the Annie and rolled his eyes, then turning his gaze back to Noah in front of him. Annie snickered at her husband’s words again, her laughter soft from behind the book she was buried in.
“Optimist. Realist. The smarter one. Whatever you wanna call it, sweetheart.” Annie’s tone was snarky, her words clear about one thing: she knew she was right. She got up from the couch, placing her bare feet on the wooden floor and headed towards the kitchen.
Finnick sighed, staring into his son’s sea-green eyes with already fading hope. Please, he mouthed, do something.
And like he understood what his father wanted of him, Noah indeed did something. Slowly, he started seeking for the nearby chair for support, wrapping his chubby fingers around the wooden leg. He started pushing himself on his feet, inch by inch, until he was standing tall. Finnick suppressed an excited gasp and stared at the boy, not wanting to distract him with words. Noah stared at his own legs for a good, long moment.
Then he let go of the chair leg and took a step. And another. And another, until gravity took over and he fell back on his knees on the floor, all the while giggling with excitement.
“Annie, he did it! He took three steps towards me, he really did! Oh my god, Annie, you - you missed it!”
“I missed it?!” Annie’s voice was followed by a bunch of hurried steps when she ran back to the livingroom, where she saw Finnick and Noah giggling at each other like they had just witnessed something amazing. Which they had. “I. Missed. It?!”
Finnick started laughing at his wife’s expression; every possible emotion ran across her features in the matter of ten seconds. Disappointment, happiness, sadness, anger, defeat. “Optimist. Realist. The smarter one,” Finnick said, mocking his wife’s earlier tone, and she gave him a warning look. “You know, whatever you wanna call it, sweetheart.”
Annie shot him a dirty glare and said: “Oh shut it, Odair, or I’m gonna push you off the damn dock.”

Chapter Nine: Private Training session
I left with Katrina and headed back to our compartment with my new found knowledge of snares and fishing nets bumbling in my head. How could I use this? I could use it for hunting and definitely for fishing but could I be capable of hurting another human? I think about it for not even a second and realise that I couldn’t intentionally hurt another person but to protect Katrina I might actually have to but would we even win… Nobody under the age of fifteen have ever won the games!
I went into my compartment and stared at the bed in the middle of the room with its luxurious sheets and decadent pillows and realised I didn’t want this I didn’t need this and that I (along with a bunch of other children) didn’t deserve this; We didn’t deserve to be ripped away from everything we loved and then spruced up and made to look attractive we didn’t deserve to die not like this!
I’ve often wondered how the ideal of the Hunger Games was devised was it with a bunch of Capitol citizens deciding children were key to absolute peace? Or did they put it down to a vote? I broke down and cried at the door that had shut softly behind me wishing I could be back home with my family, this dream was crushing me like a vice ready to squash my heart into dust but I wouldn’t let it I couldn’t I promised my family I would get back to them no matter what I could do it I know I could!
So I wiped the salty tears from my eyes and thought about the one thing I had to focus on. My Private training session with the Gamesmakers, where each and every tribute is brought before a bunch of Games makers (The people who decide what happens during the games) to present some special skill or show how you would survive, these Gamesmakers then give you a score between 1 and 12, -12 being the highest, this helps everyone work out who would be the most likely to win the games and allows for people to bet on who would be a winner, this also attracts sponsors and usually the kids with the lowest score barely get a sponsor! Last year I remember a kid who got a score of 7 ended up being killed by a kid from District Three who managed to stab them in the abdomen!
What could I possibly show them? I can’t use camoflage so that’s out of the window! I can’t use a trident because that won’t even be on offer… I could use a spear but I bet someone from District One or Two will use them, But I could shot my knots and how I could fish and hunt couldn’t I? I mean it’s a skill I need to know especially if the arena is tropical this year! I needed Mags she would help.

Hi guys heres chapter eight of One Destiny chapter nine will either be up today or tomorrow it’s also on Wattpad ! Also feel free to send me Odesta prompts or requests in my ask especially as I have nothing to do today! Enjoy.
Chapter Eight: Training Centre
We walked back to our rooms together, I didn’t talk… I didn’t want to I just went to bed. Inside the Capitol’s warm smooth almost decadent sheets and plush pillows, luxury I didn’t want. What I wanted and desperately clung on to was my bed back home that was lumpy but sturdy but smelt of salt.
I tried to sleep but I just couldn’t the pictures of the faces i loved: Mum, Dad, Gran and Annie came to mind and they weren’t looking at me with the usual warmth and care they regarded me with for the past fourteen years it was more a look filled with disgust…
I woke up and went into the dining room. Only Mags was there sitting at the table a hot drink in a dirt free mug in her hand. She looked slightly drained.
“Hey Finnick, your up early.” She says to me sipping another mouthful of drink which I presumed to be tea.
“Couldn’t sleep.” I reply sitting opposite her stifling a yawn.
“Well done in the tribute parade you made an impression a good one… One that will hopefully keep you alive.” She says taking in another sip of tea
“That’s good I guess even though I feel as if I’ve just been humiliated for their pleasure. Because I don’t already feel like I’ve lost some shred of my dignity.” I say sighing putting my head on my lap trying to calm down from the anger that was welling up like a volcano inside of me.
“Don’t worry kid you’ll get used to it, it’s only due to the fact you’ve never had to do that type of thing before trust me soon it’ll become more like human nature. Don’t worry about what everyone at home thinks of you all they want is for you to come back home alive.” she says soothingly to me patting my shoulder which calmed me down quite a lot.
I lifted my head up and looked around, the room was dimly lit through some light bulbs on the ceiling the room itself was very simple and plain with white walls and a simple rectangular wooden table and chairs as well as a grey sofa to the left of the table and chairs. However there were three medium sized plexiglass windows that showed the skyline of the Capitol, it showed one building which was over 80 feet tall and completely emerald green even though it seemed garish it did have and air of elegance and eccentricity to it!
“It’s training for the next few two days isn’t it?” I ask trying to lighten up.
“Yes and this Finnick is where you’ll have to befriend a few people make alliances, they are what allow you to have gifts and sponsors and allows for a certain level of defense until your the last person standing then it’s the survival of the fittest.” She said putting her mug down on the table sharply creating a bang that rippled throughout the room.
“So what stations do you recommend?” I asked
“Avoid the spears we want to save that for the games makers not showing off a special ability until your presentation gives you a higher mark as they haven’t seen you really show off. I recommend the survival skills station so camouflage. Snares and traps which you can apply your knots to and hunting and the learn about poisonous fruits because you can’t just rely on weaponry ok.” She says looking at me the intensity written on her face from her stern expression to the way her brunette eyes had a fiery look within them.

honestly to me, finnick and annie are the most complex and fascinating characters in the entire series. I completely understand the fans that love the story that circles around katniss and peeta, but personally I find finnick and annie’s characters so layered: they are complicated and unpredictable, and they ended up with each other even after everything that they went through, and i find that there’s still so much to be revealed about both of them.
finnick was first introduced as the capitol’s darling boy with bad habits like women and sleeping around, and his first impression was quite shallow. but later on, his personality and history are slowly revealed more and more: the way he carries mags around the arena, the way he goes nearly out of his mind when he thinks the capitol is hurting annie and how distraught he is after it.
i can go on about this forever somebody please stop me

Vows
After a few minutes of mindlessly stirring the soup, I realize that I’m humming again. I glance up at Finnick, who’s been slicing Mags’ favorite kind of bread a few feet away, but apparently I wasn’t bothering him with it. I also realize that I was smiling- wider than normal for just stirring soup- but I’m not surprised that I was. It’s easy to smile when I’m picturing the dress, the joy in Finnick’s eyes. It’s a dream, this wedding in my head, but I don’t stop dreaming it because today has been so good, so happy that I can’t remember the name of the city miles away or the name of the horrible man that runs it. There’s flowers, beautiful lights, and in the back of my mind I can hear a violin playing a long, melodic song that’s easy to hum along to and will stick in my head so I’ll remember it years later. Years later, when Finnick comes home with a net full of fish for dinner and he scoops up the grinning children that are stumbling towards him on toddler legs and he apologizes after he kisses me because he still smells like dead fish, but I don’t mind at all.
His lips press against my hair as his arms wind around me from behind. "Someone’s very musical tonight.“ And I realize I’ve started humming again.
"I’m sorry,” I say.
“Don’t be, my little songbird,” Finnick says teasingly. After a moment’s pause, he asks, “Anything you want to tell me?”
Finnick knows what my absent-minded humming means. I’ve got thoughts rolling through my mind too quickly for me to focus on the world outside my own brain sometimes. But it’s easy for Finnick to tell the difference between my happy thoughts and my terrified ones, and he’s always glad to hear about the happy ones. "It was just…something unimportant.“ I say, tugging his arms off and returning to the soup. It bubbles and froths as I turn the temperature down on the stovetop, and as much as I try to focus on it, I can feel myself returning to that gorgeous gown and how perfect my ring looks when it glimmers against the tumbling fabric.
It’s not a happy thought, no matter how much it feels like it could be. That’s why I don’t tell it to Finnick. It’s the same reason why they don’t teach fairytales in school. Reality is what needs to be dealt with, no matter how bad you might be at dealing with it.
But why should it be a fairytale? As I add the onions and a sprinkle of pepper to the vat, I omit little parts from my dream and it fits into reality just like a puzzle piece. No crowds of people, in fact it’d just be Mags, Bauz and any other victors that Finnick thought we could trust with our secret, which wouldn’t be many, but plenty for me. No big cathedrals to perform the ceremony in…and no preacher either. But there’d still be a cake, I’m sure, because Finnick says that’s always been his favorite part of every wedding he’s ever been to. And maybe I couldn’t go through racks and racks of lovely dresses until I found one that I knew Finnick would love to see me in, but I can see Mags, jittery with excitement, making up a dress by her sewing machine and a matching suit for Finnick. Maybe we couldn’t find someone we trusted enough to play the music I’m hearing in my head, but Finnick and I could dance anyway, in our room afterwards maybe, with my toes up on the tops of his feet so I could reach his lips whenever I wanted to. And of course we’d have rings to wear once it was finished, too. Rings Finnick could pick out in the market and then give Bauz the money to buy them later. We’d wear them always, pulling our sleeves over them whenever we left the house.
I’m feeling something between butterflies and crippling nausea when I say Finnick’s name. Maybe it wouldn’t be official to anyone but us, but that’d be enough to make me happy. Just the opportunity to actually be his wife without any complications in between it. "Finnick, what if we were married?”

If you’re ever sad just imagine Annie waking up in the morning all confused because Finnick isn’t beside her and they haven’t woken up without the other since the war ended and then Finnick comes in with breakfast on a tray, gives her baby bump a kiss, and says “Happy Mother’s Day.”
It’s been years since Mockingjay was released and my heart still aches for Finnick and Annie.

AU GAMES AS REALITY COMPETITION a’ la Big Brother + Fight Club?
Finnick stares at the contract. Pointer finger reaches out, traces along the fine print that had been conveniently fine beyond legibility when first he had been presented with it, ten years ago. A lump lingers in his throat, before he pushes back his seat, slumping against the back of the chair and running his hands through his hair.
“I’m sorry, cariño,” the voice says softly. Finnick gives a limp shrug, without looking up. Mags, in her lilting, accented English places a hand on the boy’s back as she sits next to him. “Ron is looking into it, I promise we’ll figure something out.”
I can’t see her, he wants to say.
He doesn’t need to.
Mags knows him too well.
After becoming a celebrity by wielding a bloody trident, having faith in people would always be a struggle.
And dissolving a contract is hardly an easy thing to do when the contract-maker essentially owns half the legal authorities in the country.
