it’s not even getting older that bums me out it’s the pressure on birthdays to prove to others that you’re Loved Enough. like a lot of people treat their birthdays like a spectacle like oh my 100000 friends threw me a surprise party and wrote me sonnets and worshipped at my feet look at this look at me look at my instagram I’m so special!!!!!! but with me it’s like. well. I’m a loser every other day of the year and that doesn’t change on my birthday. I literally don’t matter and I don’t need an occasion to remind me of that 😭
