we Know that the theory was around for ages. it was still shit when we first thought of it and it still delegitimises and demeans the impact of the entire season 2 finale now. what's the fun in the idea that this one guy always has everything under control to the point the one win his enemy gets is staged? that's not fun, like, at all.

the season 2 finale was impactful as it saw an abuse victim and his friend finally get saved from their abuser. it sent the message that your attachments to your friends and to what you hold close is important and meaningful and GOOD. now, what? none of that matters because it wasn't a real win and that message is now null and void. great way to just piss all over a really powerful moment in the series overall and a really powerful message of overcoming your abuse and your abuser and beating the shit out of him because he deserved to :)
