There are these three peculiar people. They're walking back home in the late hours of the night, carrying groceries and new pens and a book that had been sitting at the very back of a shelf at a store. It's cold and snowing and yet they walk because they dislike the subway, and their arguements are too disruptive for the public. They're chatting about mundane things, like what movie to watch on their day off, what color their new shoerack should be, and a funny mishap at their job. One of them starts rambling about a webovel and another spews critiques, about its power systems, and the last one listens without a word, but he sighs, fondness and exasperation blowing away in a puff of cool air. They stop to gawk at a street cat playing with a plastic bottle, and then they are walking again. Sometimes one would fall a few paces slower and the other two follow so that he is not left behind for even a hair's breadth.
