Join the Loving Day NYC Host Committee!

We’re trying something new for the Loving Day NYC Celebration this year: the Host Committee! To do that, we’re inviting our favorite people (that means you) to invite their favorite people to Loving Day.

Here’s what we’re asking:

Come chill at Loving Day NYC. You’d just hang out and enjoy as a regular guest (no volunteer work). It’s on Saturday June 11th from 3-7pm (rain date Sunday, June 12th).

Ask your friends to RSVP for Loving Day NYC on http://lovingday.eventbrite.com, and select your name from the menu when they complete the form.

Send your friends reminders and make sure they don’t flake out!

The more your friends RSVP and credit you, the better your rewards!

5 friends: you all get a free Loving Day temporary tattoo at the event.

10 friends: you all get a free Loving Day pin at the event.

20 friends: you (the host) get a free Loving Day t-shirt, and your friends all get a free Loving Day temporary tattoo at the event.

As you know, we work really hard and plan months in advance for Loving Day NYC. And it means a lot to us! We could really use your help to keep our audience fresh and lively (including your very cool presence). And as you know, Loving Day is a lot of fun.

Loving Day is an annual tradition that celebrates interracial relationships and multiethnic identity. Loving Day Celebrations mark the anniversary of Loving v. Virginia (1967), the Supreme Court decision that legalized interracial marriage in the United States. We encourage everyone (including you) to host their own Loving Day celebration for friends and family. Most people celebrate on (or around) June 12th. You'll be sharing the experience with people like you in cities around the world. Loving Day Celebrations are shared among friends and passed down through families to establish a new tradition for the multicultural community. Potlucks, picnics, and barbecues are popular ways to celebrate Loving Day - but you can get creative! Prefer happy hour, dinner at a restaurant, or bowling? Go for it! Someone even did the Denver Triathlon for Loving Day once - with an after party, of course. Special thanks to the incredibly cool couple in this video: Kathy Ha and Ramon Thompson. Please be sure to enter by Monday June 30th, 2014 at 11:59pm ET. Winners will be selected by Loving Day by Wednesday July 2nd, 2014 at 11:59pm ET.

If you win, we will contact you via email. You'll have 48 hours from when we email you to reply and claim your prize. Otherwise, we'll pick another talented winner.
