The themes in this song are so beautiful to me in their rawness. There’s this haunting melancholy throughout the song despite him showing deep gratitude for the love he does receive. Yes, he yearns for something eternal, but he still sees the purpose in appreciating love in all the forms that it visits him.

That even if a love isn’t meant to be everlasting… a good time can be had together, and that in itself is worth appreciating. That love or joy doesn’t have to be eternal. It can be a fleeting moment with a stranger or a tourist who took a temporary residence in your heart. Yes, temporary… but was your heart not full during the time you spent with them?

The most powerful revelation was his description of how someone unfamiliar to you can see the beauty in you. They might be oblivious to the weight of your burdens, blind to the depths of your yearning, or unaware of how long you’ve struggled with your own existence. And yet, despite the reality of your sorrows… people can still see the beauty and the light within you. That a connection is a connection. Even a temporary, metaphysical bond is still love, and a love worth cherishing
