Donna simply shot him back a look that showed she was not even the slightest bit impressed. “Oh? Maybe you don’t look the part, but you could certainly be fooling us all,” she insisted, swimming back up to shore so she could jump again. “Besides, who said you had to look the part to do it? Now come on, the water’s fantastic.”

“I play the fool in a lot of respects but in this situation, I think you might have to find yourself another more willing victim.” He suggested, looking at her over the top of his sunglasses. “You’re very bossy aren’t you.”

“Geronimo!” the feisty blonde called out before throwing herself into the lake, curling herself into a cannonball and causing an enormous splash. The lake began to ripple as slight waves crashed against the nearest edge she was on. “Join me! The water’s amazing,” Donna beamed, pushing the wet hair from her face to look at the other expectantly.

An eyebrow quirked up from behind his sunglasses. “Do I look like the type of person who decides to cannonball into open water?” Loki spoke drolly, flicking to the next page in his book.

“You know what?” she began, softening her features all of a sudden. “And I say this from the bottom of my heart – with my most sincerest wishes in mind –” Pamela continued, the gentle expression all a show, “– that I hope you choke on a hunting knife. An incredibly sharp and jagged hunting knife. That way nobody will ever be subjected to your idiot voice ever again.”

That did make Loki chuckle. “If I knew I could get this kind of rise out of you, I think I would have played with you much sooner, doll.” He said with a grin on his lips. “And can I point out that it’s technically ‘idiotic’. Your English needs a little fine tuning.”

Pamela’s jaw locked as she glared at Loki, rage boiling over. She fantasized about wrapping a vine around his neck and with her powers, tightening it slowly until he was begging for air. Oh how Pam wished she had her powers. She’d’ve killed him then and there. “You don’t have a mature bone in your body, do you?”

There was an air of smugness to the god when he felt the irritation seeping from the red head and this time at least, his gaze turned to level her down, a smirk on his lips. “Oh, I do. Some people aren’t worth wasting them on however.” And why would he bother when he got this kind of response from a simple comment.

“Do not underestimate me you fool,” Pamela hissed through her teeth. “You couldn’t squash me if you tried. And if you so much as tried – I’ll make sure you regret it.”

Loki gave a puzzled look for a moment. “What is that buzzing... Really, it’s beginning to get a little irritating.” He murmured into the air, lips drawing into a small smirk to let the woman know he was more than aware of what he was doing.

“Yeah – I’m bored. At least I get a kick out of pestering you,” Pamela admitted, still keeping her gaze narrow whenever she looked at him. “I don’t care who you are. Here there are no gods and you’ve just got to accept that.”

“Oh, I’m still here, therefore there are still gods; powers or not. Unfortunately there still appear to be tiny gnats flying around and generally just making a pain out of themselves. They always get squashed eventually though, remember that.” He stated calmly.

“I thought I told you I never wanted to see you again,” she huffed, shooting him a look. “But I guess I’m here to see if you’ve still got that ridiculous god complex of yours.”

“I’m not the one who came up to you, dear.” He pointed out, given he had been sat at the table for a damn sight longer than she had. “And you still seem to fail to grasp the concept of me actually being a god. Therefore I can’t have a ‘god complex’ if it is actually a fact.” He pointed out.

And you may be better but I’m guessing it’d still hurt which is my end goal.” Because she didn’t really care what this guy’s speciality was, she just didn’t care for being insulted. “Thank you, I’ve been told that I’m very pleasant.” She smiled, she was a Princess, a Grand Duchess and she did not behave like one at all.

The mans eyes rolled at that and he made a scoffing sound. “Who told you that? Your reflection?” He commented, sounding disbelieving.

Anya finished her mouthful of food before picking up the dinner knife that was beside her, “Don’t make me throw this at you because you think I’m any less of a girl for my eating habits.” She threatened, a somewhat slightly menacing look in her eye, the one she gave the other kids in her orphanage when she had been growing up and they tried to take her things. “You can take your cow and your hulk, whatever that is and shove it where the sun don’t shine.” Another thing Anya loved about this time was the language they used, such colourful language that she put to test more or less straight away.

“If you threw that at me, you’d find that I am much better with knives and daggers than you are little girl.” He’d a particular penchant for that, not seeming at all like he was bothered by the woman’s threat. “Well you’re charming aren’t you.”

Anya sat an empty table at the diner where she worked, her apron was thrown haphazardly over one of the empty chairs while she scribbled in the journal that was open in front of her. It was her way of ensuring she didn’t forget this time, tallying each day she had been in this town and each day she had been without Dmitri. 

When fries and a coffee were placed down in front of her she didn’t hesitate before tucking in, letting out satisfied sounds as she stuffed four fries into her mouth at once feeling eyes on her, “What- you never seen a girl eat before?” She questioned, swallowing before taking a sip of her coffee, “Just enjoying the greater things in life, even if they don’t make the best combo.” Because she had to say the one thing she loved about this place was the technology, fashion and food. The modern day was pretty incredible after all.

“And yet it is perfectly okay for him to take over the governing of a planet?” Though of course, it was one where he was accepted as King but that was a minor detail in Loki’s opinion. “I feel you lack any determination to do well if you’d give up at the first hurdle.” Loki informed him, sounding a little bored with the conversation now. “Oh really? That sounds... awfully thrilling and dramatic.”

“Hit a nerve now did I? Let me guess, there is no brotherly love wherever you come from? Here I was expecting it to be all sunshine and rainbows, brothers of the thrones- except-.. you know, you’re not on it.” He told the other, giving him a somewhat guilty smile, “Eesh, come to think of it, must be pretty tough being the forgotten one, always second best. It’s fine though, I totally get it, I’m used to being second best- hell, not even second more like fifteenth best.”

The more time he spent with the man, the more he was beginning to dislike him and wish that he had his powers back. What he wouldn’t give to strike this puny boy down where he stood. “In our fathers opinion but I think we all know that they can have biased opinions.” Especially when it came to favorite siblings. “And why are you so low in your families opinions?”
