Over-Due Reunion // {Closed RP} Ratta and Marta
“Tch… stupid mission…” Ratatosk mutters to himself, though with the ace having to rest at the manor due to her condition and everyone else busy, he was the only one he could fit the bill. Not to mention it was having him travel back to Aselia and right to the outskirts of Palmacosta.
That harbor town still had some unsettling memories he barely recalled… if at all. Such a bothersome thing really… this amnesia. Though the blond supposed that it was a blessing really. Since he would not be as vengful or hostile as the other Ratatosks he has come across. Sure, he had the feeling they would be calling him soft or weak, but he did not care. Not at the slightest. After all, he had more things to worry about. Like Ana and the Arks family.
“…” The town itself seemed happy as usual, ever bustling. It seemed as though nothing has changed, no matter how much or how little he remembered and visited. Taking a moment to clear his head and listen to the waves of the water, alongside the sea breeze having to brush lightly against him. It seemed so calm and peaceful in comparison to the night of the Blood Purge, something he did remember bits of. Then again, how could he ever forget that day? He might not remember Lloyd being there, but he did remember someone there.
A young woman, she was calling out to him, pleading for help.
How irionic that it was the same one that he recalled getting stabbed in the Ice Temple? The he does not know or remember that the one stabbed was just a fake. Nor did he remember who stabbed her in the first place. All he knew, was that she got hurt, likely killed, and he couldn’t save her. As pathetic as it was, he did not even remember her name.
“Am I… really that terrible?” It was from that one memory alone when he was still traveling aimlessly with Kiyoshi before they moved into the Arks Manor that he had been questioning everything he did. Sure, there were still people who saw him as nothing more than a monster, but that did not help. Especially when a single child in Luin threw a rock at him once, telling him to leave and never return, that he would always be hated, no matter how kind and benevolent he become, that he should just die. It did not help when he would go into Revlielle now and then to help Duchess Anastasia and people were scared and fearful of him because of his red eyes. Sure, that time of fearing red eyes may have passed, but that does not mean that the people themselves changed.
“If only I saved you that day you were hurt… I… I’m sorry…” Sure, The Summon Spirit was talking to himself at the moment, but the whisper itself was pained from recalling it, troubled, saddened, even remorseful. But then again, would anyone blame him, if they thought they lost a good friend too? Or something they thought was a good friend?
Whatever the case, he was far too wrapped up in his mind to even care that anyone could just pass by him. Ratatosk ignored the gazes, the mutterings, the gossip, everything. None of that mattered to him right now.
The young brunette sighed as she looked over towards the sun dancing reflection in the water's wave. The day was slowly coming to an end and not much had perk her attention, sadly to them, not even the young children whom she played with regularly had brought her in a good mood. Marta simply couldn't put her finger on it. But she hadn't been in her usual cheery mood ... though occasionally she'd play her part as not to worry he people of Palmacosta.
Time had passed since she parted ways with Emil, Lloyd, and the others, many had gone to do what they were set out to do, while others, like Marta, returned to their homes to aid in any way possible. She wasn't going to lie though, it wasn't like she spent her entire time here-- She did travel out to visit Sheena or Colette or Mimi or even little Elle. It was quite fun and adventurous. Still she knew she had a duty to protect even though the Renegades and such were long gone.
Slapping at her cheeks as she decided that what she was doing was wrong, Marta huffed lightly hopping off the rooftop of a small home with an elegant leap, her feet touching the ground with ease. "Time to see how's everyone doing~" She giggled, locking her hands behind back as she spun a bit on her heels before leaping forward in the bay's general direction.
A smile grew on her face as she caught sight of the usual group of kids that surrounded the shopping area of Palmacosta. All of which giggled and waved towards her, some even running in her direction to greet her properly. "Hey guys~" She sang making her way towards them with a slight skip to her step, giving off her usual happy appeal. Placing her hands on her knees as some of the young ones bantered on about their previous games and pranks pulled off successfully on the adults .... something had caught the eyes of the young brunette.
Blond hair was the first thing she noticed over a crowd not far off from the kids. No, it couldn't be-- ... Em-- The words were quickly caught in her throat as the male turned around and instantly she knew ... it wasn't Emil. Ratatosk!
What was he doing here ...?! It was rare for her to see anyone visit her home. Still out of the sheer excitement and glee of seeing a former travel mate she excused herself towards the kids and bounded off where the blond had went to.
It honestly didn't take long for the brunette to catch up to him, "Ratatosk!" She called out with a wave of her hand over her head, waiting for the male to stop so that she could speak to him. Energy radiated off the brunette, she had so much to tell him-- to do with him! Oh she wondered how Tenebrae was doing as well! She missed them both greatly!
