HAPPY INCEPTION DAY!!! (day 16: first experience w movie or fandom)
I don’t really remember my first experience, I think my art teacher recommended it to me and I remember enjoying it and thinking Arthur was hot and also played by keanu reeves (unrelated facts) cuz i recently watched the matrix at the time??
But i REWATCHED it several years later when I saw a youtube video that showed all the levels of the heist in real time and I’d forgotten most of inception so i decided to rewatch it!
…
After watching it i immediately ran to ao3 to see how many arthureames fics there were and the rest is history.
I posted inception fanart 2 months after my first rewatch and I remember it was of art of text convos that someone and @/mister-eames had… i remember being REALLY SCARED to interact w the inception fandom because fandoms were incredibly intimidating to me but now I know better!!

day 15: ari’s fave art movement
Ok this might be basic but: art nouveau! I hc her as american or canadian (definitely Not french) and I feel like she went to architecture school in paris for a reason, which was enjoying a very parisian art movement!
Her style and how she styles her hair also reminds me of the flowy curly ness of art nouveau…
The only problem is that i came up w this hc from absolute bullshit. Like she’s the architect for the whole job, right? If we look at her actual builds they’re so…….. corporate and brutalist like the cobb’s limbo.
If we ignore the movie part and that nolan probably wanted all the levels to Look Like That we could attribute it to her being so talented and able to be kind of a forger in an architect way that she can build in any style that is required to make sense for the mark’s reality…?
Oo wait!!! Or!!!!!! Maybe a style of architecture in dreams, especially when not directly copying a preexisting location (like nash did), is just layout and suggestions and the mark fills out the rest of the details so it fits better w their reality??? (Thinking back to the line where she said they were making the bottom level a hospital but in the dream it was more armed protected base)
But idk. I think she would also probably appreciate baroque sculptures and honestly brutalism. Like she would probably appreciate the fact it doesn’t try to hide anything in grand details and the history behind it, just as she likes impossible builds that are all grand details.
