Spoiler warning: they just had a Nintendo Direct and i'm talking about a part of it

feel like i should be a lot more giddy about the new game announced today. like, when i was young RhythTen was basically the team mascot of my identity as a gamer. this would be considered the herald of a new era. i should be 3 ft. afloat from the ground rn the way i was after the reveal of Mario Wonder. but the video pulled me back to earth with the onetwo punch of a boring name and a distant release point. MAN, does the name Rhythm Heaven Groove fill me up with nothing. they just chose a music term to add on. Fever was also just a music word, but the difference is that it wasn't a one-syllable word and rhythm heaven fever was kinda fun to say. If they went with Rhythm Heaven Groovin' or Rhythm Heaven: In the Groove it would sound more complete. As it stands it sounds like one half of a twin game release. "Rhythm Heaven Groove and Rhythm Heaven Funk" or something.

I got flashbacks to the dissappointment i felt when i discovered WarioWare Gold ROBBED us americans of the moniker WarioWare Gorgeous like come ON man ...and that tempted to check what this new release was called abroad...

are you KIDDING ME. "Miracle Stars". that sounds WAY more interesting. no idea why it's called that, but i want to know. i now crave more information on this new RH. like i should have been in the first place. oh my heck.

So, YouTube video chapters, huh? Did YouTube realize they needed to add beloved features, if they wanted to keep having beloved features to remove? There. It took me a whole year but I finally found a way to be cynical about that one YT update, validating me as a user of the internet-- It has been a year since they added chapters right? it's not very temporally anchored in my head on account of nobody online making a peep when it happened

discovered a soundcloud playlist consisting solely of remixes of that one leroy track. as someone who had been compiling my own playlist of tracks sampling that one leroy track, this put me at an impass. I could have used their playlist to instantly bolster mine by a dozen tracks (how are there so many left to discover?), but. it would feel unfair, copying the work of my competitor to overpower them (my list was already larger than theirs. that’s why i was shocked about how much of their list doesn’t overlap mine.) …Also, it didn’t seem very fun, being handed a batch of extra tracks, rather than discovering them myself.

. . . . aaallso each time I add a track I have to discern where to order it (note the playlist description) and usually have to relisten to like a third of the tracks i already added and it’s a whole process that i didn’t feel like doing twelve times at once.

It tickles me how there are three different Nintendo games all supetitled atsumare ("gather 'round") in Japan but localized differently in English

wait the kirby one is named slightly differently. what the heck. im pretty sure atsumare and atsumete are functionally synonyms but. muh symetry ;_;

Uh... so I saw this poster on Nintendo Today recently

and I realized that I may have unsubscribed and blacklisted someone for "spoiling" in their video thumbnail an element that the movie distributors already "spoiled" before it released...?

I would have been absolutely sure that I only read as far as the first one or two volumes of Wano as a kid, if not for the fact that it took a lot longer than that I think for this minor character I remembered to appear. Hippos are funny, so making someone partly a hippo will automatically look funny, and the way this design goes about it is particularly funny. But, it’s also ingrained in my mind as a textbook example of a minor One Piece character with one joke to their name that a random extra in the scene will loudly explain to the reader the first time it happens. It feels less like an executed joke and more like the author turning to ask you “wouldn’t it be funny if there were a guy…?”
