I had a similar thing happen. I got a random/cold InMail from people I never heard of before. We had a long talk on a Friday, and hit it off. We were talking offers by the end of that call, and I started working for them on the following Tuesday. Great place, and you NEVER know where your dream job will come from.

Having just been through this with the startup I'm now working for, I did ask about costs, and was able to get the base high enough to cover the extra costs. That said, definitely get the info on cost before you start talking money.

Having just had one of these "fall into my lap" type things when I really needed it, I agree wholeheartedly with Mark here. The network(s) work, and they should be respected. Keep your LinkedIn profile up to date, and you never know when something special will happen.
