This one man probably did more than any other performer to define what was the "Attitude Era".

Helped to define what WWF/E Divas would become during the Attitude Era

Dawn Marie made her debut during the Ruthless Aggression Era from 2002 to 2005.

But she made her debut in ECW during 1998,and like many ECW characters, her portrayal was picked up on by the WWE/F writers and used as the basis for the presentation of the WWE/F divas during the Attitude Era. Hence, she helped define the Attitude Era Divas.

ECW offered up the 'extreme' template that the WWF copied to a large extent.

And why did it copy it?

To compete with WCWs flagship show 'WCW Monday Nitro', which was broadcast in the same timeslot as 'WWF Raw'.
