A sigh of relief escaped her lips when he agreed, not that she had much doubt he would. “Thank you,” she shut her eyes when he kissed her forehead. While this wasn’t her “first time” with a man, in fact, she had already been married. But even then, it was filled with deceit and insecurity. Now she was secure, she was safe. And it made her terrified, although Lucas wouldn’t be able to tell. “That Netflix thing?” she repeated, laughing at him. “God, I love you.”
“Shut up,” he rolled his eyes at her comment, a grin playing on his lips while he reached for his phone on his bedside table to pull up the app. “At least I know how to order Uber eats but that’s mainly because I get them for lunch.” For some reason, it had taken the male a couple minutes to register that Scarlett had told him she loved him again. “I love you more,” he replied quickly, with slightly rosy cheeks and his nose still down at his phone. “I love hearing you say that.”
