Elizabeth of Yorkās necklace ā> The White Princess 1x03
Giuliano sighed as he looked up from his book. True, he had become a knight so he didnāt guard the records, but his father had still raised a reader. Even so, he found he was getting bored with the literature in front of him.Ā āIs anyone else thinking this so called competition has been a bit boring? Iāve yet to see one argument break out, and I wouldāve expected at least ten by now.ā
āHm.ā Lucastaās eyebrow raised curiously and she leant back against the bookshelf, watching the knight for a moment as he steadily abandoned his book. She hadnāt the time for literature that many in this castle did ā even the pirate captain seemed to enjoy it more than she ā so the boredom crossing his features was something she understood.Ā āWho would you like to see argue?ā
regnumgossipā:
āYes, that would be quite interesting, wouldnāt it?ā She looked toward the young woman.Ā āDo you hope to catch them in the act?ā
āI would have to be a fool not to want such leverage,ā Lucasta pointed out,Ā āand the knowledge, merely for my own amusement; this game of thrones is too kind thus far, no? And perhaps that is our fault ā courtesy is the nature & the death of most of us ā but Iād like it to get interesting. If only to benefit from it and enjoy the drama. Though, I hope, not at my own ladyās expense: for now, at least.ā

Iāve heard the library is some peopleās choice for clandestine meetings.
Oh, yes, my dear. Iām well aware. Itās quite exciting, the thought of getting caught while in the throes of pleasure. Granted, I know a certain couple is smart enough to put a chair against the door to keep anyone from entering.
Such a thing excited many, this Lucasta knew; but she would likewise like to know who exactly presented interest in such dangerous pursuits. āCoupleā was disheartening wording, but could likewise be loose wording, could it not? āThen perhaps someone ought to steal the chair and see what comes of it?ā
Who do you think is most to least likely to try and seduce the King?
Oh, this is a question that only has one answer to me.Ā
Lucasta
Everyone else
Donāt ask me why. I have no idea. It just makes sense.
āI wonder whatever ā or whoever āĀ could have given you such an idea?ā
āI think the only people happier than I are the bride and groom,ā Alessandra chuckled as she spoke to the person in front of her. Her brotherās wedding had been a happy occasion for all involved, and there was a piece of her glad that he would have less time to devote to worrying over her now.Ā āThis is a wonderful celebration, is it not?ā
āI do believe your assessment quiteĀ forgets the brideās mother.āĀ
Lucastaās voice was mirthful, bouncing over the syllables in the manner of women more youthful than she ( more innocent than she, too ) as she addressed the Lady Alessandra; after all, it wouldāve taken utter blindness to miss the victory in the Dowager Countessā smiles. The union of families was a route to power ā this, at court, was universally understood ā and even though Luc was not the most perceptive woman there ever was, it was glaringly obvious that there was more than the Lady Everetteās happiness to gain from such a match.
āBut it is such a beautiful celebration,ā she agreed, eyes wide as dinner-plates and sparkling as she surveyed the grand hall,Ā āI could only dream of such a wedding!ā
I had hoped you may have come to have a tenderness, at least. A kindness, even.
