Soft Haley Headcanons

I wasn’t originally planning on posting these, but after revisiting them in my drafts I thought why not? So, here are some soft headcanons for Haley 🌻

Haley puts rosewater in her hair so it’s always so soft and smells like flowers

She loves sweets and desserts and whenever she’s out in the city, she’ll stop by one of her favorite patisseries to get something small for Emily too

She wears a lot of skirts and dresses because she loves the feeling of twirling in them

Haley will quietly brush your hair and wipe your tears away whenever you’re feeling sad

Her favorite season is summer because that’s when the world is the most vibrant and alive

She’d wordlessly tuck in a stray hair or pick a lint off your clothes to make sure you’re looking your best

Haley keeps a secret box of all her favorite pictures and polaroids. There’s no real common theme with them—some of them are of flowers, some of the valley, of herself and her sister, and so on

Every year on Winter’s Star, Emily without fail would have a new sweater ready for her and Haley. And they’d always be perfectly hideous. Sleeves made of tinsel, a stocking you could fill, lights and bells sewn all over, etc. It’s become a tradition that every year the sweater has to be worst than the last, and even though Haley absolutely hates them, she’ll always wear them to the feast. Although over the years more and more pictures from Feast of the Winter’s Star included less and less of their parents, there was always a picture of the two of them standing in town square, posing in front of the tree and showing off Emily’s sweaters

Because it’s just the two of them during the holidays, Evelyn always invites Emily and Haley to spend the afternoon with them too. It started off as Alex’s idea, and it became another tradition that they’d all open their gifts at his house. Evelyn would share the recipe to her special Christmas cookies with Haley, which they’d both bake together as winter’s star music plays in the background. And Emily became good friends with George when they bond over jewels and gems and they’d both spend a good portion of the evening chatting with each other. The five of them would all have dinner together and Evelyn always makes sure to send the sisters off with plenty of food. It’s nothing less than a family.

Jodi

To thank her for teaching vincent everything at school, Jodi invites penny over to dinner often

She’s aware that penny doesn’t really have a lot of home cooked meals at home and usually eats takeout from the saloon, so she always tries to make her best recipes whenever she has her over

If Penny arrives early, she’d share her recipes as well, and let her help out as she cooked

Jodi always sends her home with lots of food too

Sometimes, she’d also stop by at the trailer to drop off meals for penny and her mom, always coming up with some variation of “goodness, I accidentally cooked too much, silly me”

The truth is, she always makes that extra for them in mind

Alex

Alex sometimes stops by the library from time to time and although he tries not make it obvious, he does it to try and find something he’ll be able to read

Penny didn’t make much of it at first, but whenever she finished with her lessons with the kids, she’d sometimes see him hunched over a philosophy book at a table with his brows scrunched and mouth trying to sound out the words

One day she decided to approach him, and after some conversation he soon admitted that he was struggling and that he always felt stupid for it

Penny assured him that there wasn’t anything wrong with him, and she offered to help out since she’d helped Jas and Vincent read too

They ended up meeting up at the library regularly, and a lot of the time Penny would read parts of books to him

Alex would poke fun at her sometimes for doing all the dialogue in goofy voices (she was in the habit of doing it for the kids), but eventually he found himself enjoying it

After that they became good friends

Robin

Penny’s trailer is an old one, so there was always something that needed fixing—a leak in the ceiling, a cracked window, a broken stove

That being said, Robin was a usual visitor

One day, she decided to go ahead and teach Penny the basics of what she needed to know. Whenever penny called, Robin would show her how to replace the frame, what usually caused problems for the stovetop, and etc.

Eventually penny took it on herself to learn the different parts of everything and how they’re supposed to work, and she became really good at doing her own repairs

Maru helped a lot too, because penny would always ask her questions whenever they hung out

All in all, it helped save a lot of money and it also sparked a new interest that helped penny bond with her best friend

Idk if I’ve said this before, but Robin and Demetrius’s relationship in sdv is so interesting to me, like

they’re usually arguing about minor things during their cutscenes, but they’re also easily one of the most, if not the most affectionate couple in the game

I mean they go to the saloon every Friday just to dance and hang out together, and they’re also dancing during some holiday events too which is just really cute

And Idk I feel they’re just a really good example of opposites attract like,,, Robin’s passionate and outgoing while Demetrius is logical and reserved, so I can imagine Demetrius’s overt practalism keeping things interesting for Robin, while Robin’s spirit helps Demetrius get out of his shell

I just got a scene with Emily for the clothing therapy. And robin put on a beautiful dress and her first though was “must show my husband” it was really cute

SDV Emily Headcanons!!

Emily quickly became one of my favorite NPCs when I first started the game, so I adore her very, very much. I hope you enjoy these headcanons, cause I sure enjoyed writing them!

Emily’s naturally blonde, but she first dyed her hair in middle school. Back then, she would tell everyone it was her natural color and it drove Haley crazy

She loves bold eyeliners and wears them constantly, like electric blue to match her hair, ruby reds, emerald greens, soft lavenders, just about anything. She occasionally matches them with lipsticks just as bold

She’s a vegetarian

She’s also a really good cook—albeit a rather...creative one

Emily doesn’t like to curse, relying on clean swears only—and the weirder they are, the better. It all ranges from “drat” to “fiddlesticks” to “mothersmucker” and “fudge nuggets”

Occasionally though, she does let an actual curse slip out, surprising everyone in the room with her. She would look around and respond with an innocent “what?”

Emily knows all the town gossip there is, even more so than Gus. Working as a barmaid, overhearing the mothers gossip during aerobics, and overall being friendly with everyone in town, she does know a secret or two. She’ll never say anything though—the trust of her friends is far too important to her

She’s also the embodiment of the “I know a guy” trope. Between her outgoing nature, frequent trips to the city for tailoring material, and mutual contact with all her parent’s friends, she knows she could pull a few strings :)

Gives the BEST fashion advice ever omg. She will consider your skin undertone, your body type, your face shape, your overall style, EVERYTHING. And she’d get super excited about it too. She’s honestly a major reason why Haley’s clothes always look so good

Emily and Haley may not get along a lot, but Emily’s super protective of her. In elementary and middle school she’d stand up to all the mean kids that picked on Haley. Even now, she still secretly considers her her baby sister

When she’s working on her tailoring, Emily wears those cliche cateye glasses for work. They’re bright red with little sequins on each side

Oh, have I mentioned she loves sequins

Emily also used to wear glitter in her hair, but had to stop when it started getting stuck on all her clothes. It was heartbreaking

Emily can be a little...crazy sometimes. There’ll be moments where you might have to hold her back

But surprisingly, she’s also really, really mature. As a result, her advice could be as good as gold

She’s super duper affectionate toward everyone, even if she isn’t romantically involved with them. She’s a hugger, and absolutely the type of person who’d give platonic kisses on the cheek. That being said, if she suspected someone were uncomfortable with it, she’d immediately stop

She also gushes a lot, and gives enough compliments to make anyone blush. Whenever she sees something she likes, she would immediately squeal and run over to fawn at it

She’s really good at flirting. And she’ll give you tips, if asked

Her favorite character in SHE-RA: pop would be Scorpia. But she’d also adore Double Trouble

Will unironically say things like “I found this rock today and it reminded me of you!! Here—“ You take the rock and find a terriblely painted smiley face on the other side

Emily can be really scary if she wants to be. Don’t get on her bad side.

She also has a huge fear of the dark

Emily will, and has at some point done karaoke at the saloon while dancing on the bar. Gus chided her for it, but he honestly didn’t mind because she was the reason why that night was so lively

She’s really in tune with her body and sometimes goes out in shorts and short dresses without shaving. She knows a little hairiness isn’t gonna stop her from feminine as heck

She cries easily. While watching romcoms or a sad movie, or even if she sees a cute baby duck, there will be T E A R S

On the other hand, she’s got really tough skin when it comes to jabs and insults directed at her. She’s used to it, and although it might sting a bit sometimes, she’s learned how to laugh them off

Emily’s also SUPER into astrology and integrates it into her daily life

She gives the most thoughtful gifts ever!! One of her love languages is gift giving (the other is physical touch), so she’ll put together something she knows the other will enjoy. And you can bet she’d go the extra mile while still adding her Emily touch

She likes to plays dumb a lot, just because it’s kinda fun watching someone get all frustrated sometimes. Especially when that person’s making a terrible point

Overall, Emily’s a major sweetheart and deserves all the love in the worldhdhdhd

Every Spirit’s Eve before the festival is over, Sam, Abby and Sebastian have a tradition where they’d visit a deep forest clearing and light a bonfire to share spooky stories together. They’d take all their candy and some caramel apples and other snacks from the festival, and sometimes Penny and Maru join along as well.

Sam’s stories are the goofiest, always about a group of people (just like this one), in a dark night (just like this one), telling stories over a campfire (just like—well, you get the idea). They never scare anyone, but always make the others laugh, and sometimes he’d play a couple chords on his guitar for added effect

Sebastian’s stories are short and simple, but they never fail to leave a chill down everyone’s spines. He never talks of monsters—rather of things that go missing and people who never seem the same. He always tells them in a way that makes everyone look over their shoulders with unease

Penny and Maru tell their story together, and although it’s completely improvised, you’d never know by the story they create. Penny’s voice is always so soft, and with the added effect of the orange flames illuminating her face, it makes for the perfect creepy effect. Maru is expressive, and she’d add in just the right sound effects to back Penny’s narration—soft footsteps building up in crescendo, a sudden scream, etc. Sometimes she’d slip away from the fire while Penny’s telling her part, and sneak up behind the trio with a sudden “but then” before continuing where penny left off

Abby’s stories are the most unique—she tells tales of snakes who transform entire towns into ghosts and of houses that convince people that they’re furniture. And as far-fetched as her concepts are, she always makes them work. What’s more is that they’re completely improvised as well

The group hang out together sharing these stories with s’mores and candy and songs until it either gets too cold to talk, or until they could hardly keep their eyes open. Usually it’s both.

SDV Penny Headcanons!!

Last but not least, we have our wonderful schoolteacher and local bookworm! Penny’s also one of the more overlooked characters in the game, and I really wish she had some more development too. That’s why I hope these headcanons help her feel a bit more real!

Would quietly psychoanalyze you without meaning to

Penny also has a killer memory!! She memorizes all the artifacts in the museum and names of fictional countries with their capitals from a fantasy novel she read years ago

she always surprises Maru by remembering different parts of her gadgets and their role based on a single explanation too

She also ice skates! And she’s really good at it

A lot of particular words penny learned through books, so sometimes you’ll catch her mispronouncing them in the most particular way

If she finds a leaf or acorn that she deems absolutely perfect, she’ll save it to give to you

Although she might not talk a lot to people, there are times that once you get her started, it’s nearly impossible to get her to stop

gushing about her favorite book, a particularly animal she saw in cindersap forest, or getting excited over how much the kids improved, she could ramble on for hours and hours

She always stops herself to apologize whenever she catches herself though

Despite this, penny talks to herself a lot, especially when she’s stressed out. She’d never want anyone finding out about it at the risk they’d consider it odd

She also named her favorite reading tree by the river after a character she really loved in The Solarian Chronicles

Does embroidery!! Penny’s amazing when it comes to needlework and her and Emily have actually bonded together through it

Most of her clothes have their own Penny Touch to them, with embroidered leaves and ducklings and anything else she might want to add

She somehow always has what you need on her

Although many people might dub her as a pushover at first, that actually isn’t the case. Penny’s quite stubborn when she wants to be, and she’s headstrong in her own quiet way

In fact, once she makes a decision it’s almost impossible to her change her mind

She’s really observant! Penny’s used to blending into the background and making herself small, but if there was any upside to it, it would be that she always notices things no else seems to see

She’d be a wonderful detective

That being said, Penny loves a good mystery novel. Sometimes during that weather where fog fills the valley with the feeling of calm before the storm, penny likes to imagine she’s in one

She is so so graceful too, even when she doesn’t try. It’s in the way she picks a book off the shelf, or when she rushes down the stairs—no one knows how she does it but she makes even the most mundane task seem romantic

She really likes small things! Miniature paintings, tiny statues, little notebooks—there’s no real reason why, other than she finds an indescribable charm to them

She bites her thumb whenever she’s thinking

Her favorite book is Anne of Green Gables. Penny loves how charming it is, and how beautifully Anne views the world, but more than that she could relate to having Anne’s red hair and freckles. Sometimes she likes to imagine that she was the one at Green Gables, rather than in her trailer

She has multiple small collections: stamps, bottle caps, old postcards, cassettes, and of course pennies!

When penny was younger, pam taught her a lot of card games to both try and bond with her, and also help pass time—they mostly played poker

Now, Penny would absolutely destroy anyone at the game

She will tell you the most random facts unprompted—it’s usually because she remembered a lesson plan she found interesting, but most people don’t know that

She can’t stay in the saloon for more than ten seconds without feeling like suffocating

Penny has a lot of bursts of spontaneity! Sometimes she suddenly feels like travelling to the city or exploring the area near the wizards tower, and if time permits she does it without a thought

She sometimes wanders into the forest alone hoping that some magical adventure would find her

Penny has the sweetest singing voice. It’s soft and gentle, and sometimes she likes to make lyrics up whenever sam shows her one his latest tunes in progress

Loves fairytales!! She dreamed of being a princess all the time, and even now she still dreams of a fairytale romance

Although she’s terrible at it, cooking is one of her favorite hobbies. Penny and her mom usually eat takeout from the saloon, so at some point she tried making her own meals and found it really fun

She also collects cookbooks, but whenever she tries to follow the recipe, something always goes wrong. It’s almost comical

Mistaking sugar for salt, adding way too much pepper, overcooking the rice, she could never get it right

The Feast of the Winter’s Star is Penny’s favorite holiday because it makes her feel like she’s part of a bigger family, the kind that she’d never had but always wanted

As much as she loves the valley, there’s always been a part of penny that wishes she could travel the world alone and see everything it has to offer before settling down

SDV Abigail Headcanons!!

Alright, next bachelorette is Abigail! Abby’s really cool, and pretty much the exact type of person I wanted to be as a kid. Alas I never reached that level of coolness, but it’s okay

Abigail could do a perfectly winged eyeliner with her eyes closed

She would also give you a platonic kiss on the lips if you asked

She’s really good at mimicking cartoon character voices, and could probably become a really talented voice actress if she wanted to be

She visits Gil and Marlon often too, to try and get them to teach her some sword fighting techniques. She really wants to join the Guild, but still has a lot to learn

Abigail is an amazing storyteller, especially when it’s impromptu. She could make anyone jump over spooky campfire stories with her wildly creative and farfetched ideas

She sometimes tells stories to Vincent whenever she’s hanging out with Sam and Sebastian, but never makes them too scary for him

Abby’s an amazing artist as well!! She’s currently working on an online comic inspired off of all the old myths and stories of the Valley

All the characters in her comic are inspired by the people she knows (with her being the main one), and it’s quickly gaining a lot of popularity

She also sometimes has Sam and Seb create the music for it too!

Although she and Caroline don’t spend a lot of time together, Abby grew an appreciation for tea thanks to her mother

She doesn’t drink it often, but finds it really cool how different herbs have different healing qualities to them. Sometimes Abigail would go out into the forest to find some dandelions and other plants to dry and give to Caroline

Abby is really fascinated by special effects makeup, and she’s actually really good at it

She comes up with the most amazing and scariest outfits for Spirits Eve too

She wishes that she had siblings a lot. Although she has her friends to hang out with, Abby still gets a little lonely sometimes

Abby’s tried to visit the wizard before out of curiosity, but after bombarring him with questions and touching all his potions and ingredients, she got kicked out

Abigail also really good at sneaking (and sneaking other people) out, and she often does so to hang out at the forest or practice sword fighting at the graveyard

That being said, sometimes she talks to the people buried there. They don’t reply of course, and she doesn’t really know who they are, but she’s found that it’s just a really good way to let everything out while also making sure they don’t feel too lonely

Abby gives the best hugs!! She’s really strong due to all her swordsmanship, and gives the warmest, tightest embraces

When she first woke up with purple hair, she freaked out. Although she’s dyed her hair multiple times, it was not purple the night before, but somehow still transformed into that color

She’d tried to dye it different colors, but the purple just stuck

When she was younger, Abigail used to act out a lot to try and get her parents attention. It was never harmful, but she just wished they would actually see her for who she was, rather than who they wanted her to be

As a kid, Abby also used to believed there was a ghost living in the shop’s attic. In an attempt to befriend them, she’d talk to them every single day, sharing stories and details about her life. Sometimes she’d laugh at something they’d say in response

After Abby told Caroline she was talking to her ghost friend though, Caroline had Pierre seal off the attic. Sometimes Abby still wonders if it was real or not

She also has a habit of talking to literally anything and everything—herself, her Guinea pig, her posters, her sword, etc.

SDV Leah Headcanons!!

Imo Leah’s one of the most overlooked sdv characters ever, and I haven’t been giving her enough love either! So, here’s a list of Leah headcanons to show her wonderful personality

Definitely an eldest daughter. She has at least three younger siblings that she helped care for, giving her mom energy since way back when

it’s part of the reason why she wanted to rebel and do something impulsive to escape the suburban life that awaited her

cannot tell a lie to save her life. She always ends up laughing and her ears turn bright red, giving her away almost immediately

it’s also the reason why she can’t get away with saying she understands what Elliott’s saying when she reads through his stuff

Amazing cook! Give her literally anything and she’ll find a way to craft it into a delicious meal

But the worst texter. She’ll will read your text and forget to reply for weeks on end. It’s best to just call her

Leah also has the messiest handwriting ever. Almost worse than Harvey’s doctor’s writing. It’s not that she doesn’t try, it’s just that she has a thousand ideas bouncing all at once and she doesn’t have the time to write it out properly

Will teach you how to flower press

Something Leah will never admit to is that she reads those steamy paperback adult novels, y’know the ones. It started of completely ironically but now they’re a guilty pleasure

Definitely talks to trees and plants! Casually saying hello to them, commenting on how much they’ve grown, etc

She also knows a lot of medical facts. If you ever get hurt in the forest and bump into her when Harvey’s not around, you’re all set. She can make her own herbal ointments, dress a wound, create a sling, and so much more

Also, she has amazing skin. This woman hydrates every single day and it show

Leah has a habit of oversharing, especially when she’s drunk. Give her a few bottles of wine and you’ll know her entire life story and then some by the end of the night

Can climb up a tree in the blink of an eye. Sometimes she hides up there to do her sketching, or simply take a nap

Leah’s incredibly patient too, and she’s a really good listener. Like Haley, she notices the things that most people don’t usually pick up on, so if you’re feeling down she’s usually the first to notice

She also amazing intuition. If she tells you she’s got a bad feeling about someone or something just because, listen

Very spontaneous! The perfect person to go on an unplanned night drive to nowhere with

Curses like a sailor. She’d probably try to censor herself at first, but the more you get to know her, the less she’ll stop trying

Despite being nervous about displaying her own work, she is an amazing hype woman!! Will plummel you with the love and support needed for you to do something!!

Leah also has a really sweet singing voice. She doesn’t usually sing out loud, but when taking walks in the woods or doing little sketches alone, she sometimes sings under her breath and it’s so very soothing

despite that, she cannot dance to save her life. Leah dances just like a dad, but don’t think that’ll stop her

Knows a bunch of old stories and folklore

Like Emily, she’s also a vegetarian

Incredibly competitive. She’s had a history of making a competition out if things that aren’t usually supposed to be

Despite being super kind and down to earth, there’s an intimidating nature to Leah. Maybe it’s her height or the muscles that come from working with wood all day, but it’s super helpful whenever she needs to stand up for someone being picked on

She always has the distinct smell of firewood and ash to her

Leah has super warm and rough hands that are callused through years of sculpting, and always somehow covered in paint

Despite not liking sugar or sweets, she’s also an amazing baker. Her ginger molasses cookies are to die for

Leah’s cottage is filled with small marks of her presence—a mini forest sculpted on the edge of her fireplace, blotches of dried paint on the kitchen counter, a small mural framing the edges of the window, and so many others. They’re like little Easter eggs you keep finding every time you visit, and it makes the entire place feel a little more like home

Leah also laughs really easily!! She has a bright laugh, one that could be heard from a mile away

Has a collection of the dorkiest Christmas sweaters ever. She keeps them all in a special box and wins almost every ugly sweater contest ever, even when there’s no contest

Emily compliments her on it every Winter’s Star

She has a habit of absentmindedly flirting with people, whether it be friend, lover, or stranger. She usually never means anything by it, it just happens before she can catch herself

Leah can pull off the goofiest faces ever! It’s super helpful for practicing art expressions using the mirror, but also for making a friend laugh whenever they’re feeling down

Will absentmindedly draw cute doodles and beautiful swirls on your arm if you let her

She also probably gets least easily flustered out of all the bachelorettes. You flirt with her, and she’ll flirt with you right back until one of you back down

Like Ursula from Kiki’s Delivery Service, sometimes Leah climbs up to the roof of her cottage to do some artwork. Although she’s usually always careful climbing back down, there was a time when she slipped and fell, earning her a scar that goes from from her ankle to her mid calf

Although Leah doesn’t regret moving from the city, there moments when she’s kept up at night thinking about the people she’d hurt in the process

SDV Harvey Headcanons!!

This time I have a list for our favorite doctor! Surprisingly enough, coming up with these headcanons was a lot harder than the other candidates I’ve done so far. Maybe because so many ideas have already been said? But I did my best so here we gooo

Has the SOFTEST hair. The problem is that it’s always always disheveled because he never has time to comb it or anything :’) more care goes into his mustache

More than that, there’s always something disheveled about Harvey. His outfits are color-coordinated and put together, but there’s often an untied shoelace, an unbuttoned cuff, a few missed wrinkles, etc.

One of Harvey’s secrets is that actually, caffeine stopped working on him long ago. He really only drinks coffee because it’s been a part of his routine for so long. And it’s almost always gone cold by the time he gets to it

He can’t drink his coffee black either. He’s tried to, but always finds himself going back to a heap full of sugar and cream

A very slow texter. But he’s the type to reply immediately as long as he’s not with a patient. you’ll just have to bear with those three little texting bubbles a little longer.

He uses emoticons too! :-D and non-facial emojis to send dorky texts like “An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so don’t eat too many apples! 🍎🩺”

Despite being a generally nervous person, Harvey works extremely well under pressure. He practically becomes a different person, giving orders and taking the lead without giving away that he’s panicking himself. It’s only after the danger passes does he collapses

No matter how hard he tries, most of his jokes just don’t land. either in the delivery or context or whatever it is, it just never works whenever he purposely tries to be funny

Ironically enough, Harvey’s really funny when he doesn’t try to be. His genuine cluelessness or dry sarcasm have made others laugh even when he’d have no idea why

He’s also more sarcastic than you’d think

Has a habit of sticking out his tongue when he’s concentrating

If you go to Harvey with a problem, he will listen to you with no judgement whatsoever. He’s really good at giving you exactly what you need, whether it be honest advice or support from a friend

Harvey always has a pen on him!! Always! Even on his days off at the beach or resort, he somehow just always has a pen!!

Sometimes Harvey misses the taste of home-cooked meals so when he feels especially lonely, he goes to the saloon for whatever Gus’s special-of-the-week is. It’s still technically takeout, but it’s a lot better than the usual prepackaged dinner

Gus always makes an effort to converse with him, and shares cooking tips and easy recipes for one

He blushes really easily when flustered, and a lot of things make him flustered

Harvey keeps every card, letter, or note he receives. Which isn’t very much to begin with, but there’s something reassuring to him about seeing old birthday cards from his uni days, or looking at somebody else’s writing for a change

Loves long walks!! Especially in the evenings, especially on the beach

Going to Caroline’s aerobic class has actually become a highlight of Harvey's every week. Although initially embarrassed that he had a harder time keeping up with the others, he progressed quick and it made him so happy!! All the ladies are supportive too, and always invite him to their juicy gossip sessions after class (though he always politely refuses)

He has definitely pulled out a textbook or googled something medical in the middle of meeting with a patient at least once. He can’t even be sly about it

Yes, Harvey is absolutely the type of person to buy multiple pieces of the same clothes item. Without any color variation.

Harvey is one of those people who’s really hard to get a genuine smile out of. He smiles, but it always has a sense of politeness behind it, or uncertainty, or shyness. When he does give a full, unarmed smile though, it’s completely dazzling

On top of that, he has a really gentle laugh

Surprisingly enough, he has really decent handwriting! Maybe the residents kept sending complaints about not being able to read the prescriptions Harvey would initially write up for them…

Harvey has a huge supply of colorfully printed band-aids. He finds that they add a little more excitement into his life

He has super soft hands! Since he has to wash his hands super often due to his job, he always takes care to moisturize

Harvey always has a tendency to doubt himself, being so used to hearing inquiries about why he chose work at a small town, or why he never followed his dreams as a pilot. So even the smallest hints of validation causes him to freeze for a moment. And he collects those moments and stores them in his heart forever.

with an exhausted, near exasperated sigh, you pushed the front door shut, your back hitting it with a soft thud as you slowly slid down to the floor. you groaned quietly as you eyed the mud you had tracked inside; great, another thing for you to clean up today.

alex's smile faded, his joyful greeting dying in his throat before he even uttered anything out. your defeated demeanor was worrying for your husband, so he quickly abandoned the dishes he had been working on to kneel in front of you instead.

"baby," he hummed, his huge hand moving to wipe your soaked hair from your face. "what's wrong? you're usually so happy after you go mining."

"well i usually have more luck," you responded, careful not to project your irritation onto him. "but today it was all slime monsters, rocks, and copper ores. not a diamond in sight."

alex's heart ached a little at the disappointment and shame in your voice. his mouth pulled into a tight line and his hand gently held yours as a silent show of comfort.

"looks like the nursery's gonna take a lot longer to build than we hoped," you near whispered. "i'm sorry..."

alex shook his head quickly as he squeezed your hand, "don't apologize. you're alive and healthy, and that's all i could for. we'll build the nursery when it's time. there's no rush."

you looked thoroughly unconvinced, so alex gave you a soft, joking smile as he moved to stroke your freezing cheek, "i'm guessing the storm hit as soon as you started to come home?"

"yep - bean and i got drenched."

alex felt bad for your poor, loyal horse, but he'd be fine. you on the other hand, clearly needed some affection.

"well, it's a good thing i'm here," he smiled, unlacing your heavy, mud colored boots.

kissing your forehead gently, alex slipped off your shoes and scooped you up in his arms, making you yelp in surprise.

"alex!" you yelled, a smile breaking onto your face.

your husband beamed with pride at his own strength, bringing you to the bathroom where he proceeded to set you down on the counter before running a nice, warm bubble bath.

"baby, you don't have to do this," you insisted, feeling a little guilty. "isn't the gridball game about to start? you should go watch that, i'll be fine."

he shook his head, kissing your head again once the water temperature was just right.

"the game can be recorded," he assured you. "your needs come first. now relax and get cleaned up, i'll have dinner done soon."

SDV Elliot Headcanons!!

Second bachelor we have up is Elliot! Elliot is one of my top favorites from the marriage candidates, and if not shane, then my farmer would probably end up with him. So here are a few headcanons!

Texts like a boomer. Everything just ends with ellipses…no one knows why…lol…

He really likes it when people play with his hair. It’s a little embarrassing, but he often daydreams about someone lovingly putting flowers in his hair as he reads them poetry

He wants to be the kind of person that has Shakespeare memorized, but the truth is that he just never has the patience for it!! When picking up a play or poem, he always ends up finding things to use in his own writing rather than trying to memorize the work itself

Elliot is so intelligent. Like truly, he could have hour long discussions on philosophy or science or politics, or anything, but sometimes he just completely lacks common sense.

He would try dusting a fan while it’s on. He has walked into glass doors before. He would spend an embarrassing amount of time trying to push open a “pull” door before even considering it might open the other way

He is also a complete romantic. He’s the type of person to cry at the corniest confession scenes, and would stare out the window for hours when it rains

Despite his romantic nature though, Elliot’s really sensible and mature when it comes to actual people and relationships. He’d be a really good person to go to for love advice

That being said, he's a really good listener. Elliot’s a vault when it comes to keeping secrets, whether it’s yours or his own

He’s very aware of his good looks. Like, he may be humble and offer a polite “thank you” when someone compliments him, but then you get close to him and he’s just staring at the mirror like “sigh. It is so difficult living this life being as gorgeous as I am”

He’s never serious about it though. Actually, despite his demeanor and appearances, he rarely takes himself very seriously

Like he’d laugh at himself whenever he recalls the fact that he went out into the ocean everyday at the peak of dawn just to gather saltwater for his plant, and then wonder why it was dying

He talks to himself often! If not to himself, it’s full blown conversations with his crab friend or plant

Elliot is super touchstarved. He might seem to have it together with all his words and poetry, but the moment someone hugs him it’s over

Like Leah, he also laughs really easily!

There’s also a lot of playful banter when it comes to Elliot too

He often sits with Willy on the docks whenever he goes fishing. Willy likes to share stories then, either from his fishing trips or ancient legends, and Elliot always looks forward to them. Other times, they’re just sitting silence as they look out into the ocean, deep in their own thoughts

Elliot has the most elegant handwriting ever!! He loves sending out handwritten letters to his friends, but often finds himself having to translate the writing because it’s so flowery

Despite preferring paper, he could type out like 1000 words per minute. He doesn’t have an laptop himself but sometimes uses the library’s ancient computer

Similarly, the man could flip through a 700 page novel within a day like it’s nothing

He constantly has dark circles underneath his eyes. idc what you say, this man spends hours writing on his desk and probably forgets to step outside or feed himself and there is no way it doesn’t show

Would text you at like 4am not even realizing that it is 4am. Sometimes it’s about something serious, other times it’s just a picture of a cloud he took earlier that day because he thought it looked pretty

Elliot’s pretty quiet. He loves conversation, but has too many thoughts to ponder over most of the time. Sometimes he’d just go quiet and you’d have to call his name a few times before he realizes himself

Elliot enjoys household chores. He finds them soothing.

He loves trying new things! Actually, Elliot decided to take on the project of fixing the boat up himself when he saw it discarded near his shack. He was really proud when it actually floated

Elliot is really gentle. If he saw a worm out on the sidewalk, he’d be really careful about putting it on a leaf and getting it out of the sun

Loves silly moments!! Fooling around in the tides with his shoes off and getting sand all over his clothes, writing songs with the goofiest lyrics on the piano, going along with the most ridiculous conversations, etc.

He’s the type of person that just never gets sick. Ever. It’s pretty convenient considering the little insulation he gets from his home :’)

There’s always going to be this sense of not really knowing Elliot, no matter how much you befriend him. He’s the kind of person who’s really open while somehow having a part of him that’s always closed off

He likes to collect small shells from the beach! One of the more noticeable things in his home is how they’re all lined up on the edge of his desk

If you tell him something, Elliot would remember it. Even if it’s something small like an offhand comment about how cold it’s getting, he’d be sure to ask if you’re adjusting to the weather any better a week later

Elliot’s really easy-going, but he’s actually pretty lonely. He doesn’t regret leaving his old life behind, but he’s also aware that he hasn’t connected with most of the residents as much as he wished he did.
