it's never bothered aqua that she didn't know her real mother, her real father; that she's never known her own family forged together by blood. terra, ventus, and master eraqus -- laughing together, training together -- they were her family. are her family.
and master eraqus -- he'd taught her all that she held dear to her: to be just in the face of adversity, to be kind in the face of hatred & rage, to be gentle, especially to those with the hardest of hearts. he was the only father she's ever needed.
and when she closes her eyes, under the mirky pale light upon this shore of never-ending darkness -- she can imagine that he's sitting besides her.

It is more question than statement as the tiny blue miscreant backtracks in an effort to avoid responsibility. He extends a miniature blue paw of his own to meet Aqua’s hand, palm pressing to palm.
aqua would keep up the stern facade, but when stitch looks up at her with such big, wide eyes, she can't help but let that smile crack wide across her expression again.
( and to think that he was expected to be some kind of killing machine ! )
fingers curl gently around the blue paw that rests against her own giving a light, friendly squeeze.

It’s obvious she’s not a Bandit. She wears no mask, despite the uniform she bears. He nods. Aqua. Blue. But of course.
”Aqua. It’s a pleasure. I am the Masked Bandit. Now tell me, is your hair natural?”
forefinger & thumb press together as she meekly tugs at the ends of short, soft blue strands, observing it herself. she's never really put all that much thought into her hair before; it's always been this short to be practical in combat, and it's never been something all that worthy of note color or otherwise.
the apples of her cheeks blossom a faint pink at such a thought, as she redirects her gaze back to this bandit.

Children, it is well-known, are naturally curious. Her own curiosity is normally tempered with silence, and has been further dampened since the gallery and the damage it has done to her mind. But she cannot help but to ask.

it's been so long since she's seen snow, let alone a snow man, that the keyblade master navigates through alabaster terrain with a near childlike abandon. as such, she doesn't realize the fine detail that the snow man is sentient !

her keyblade dematerializes in effervescent light, and she crouches down to meet his eye level.

for but a passing moment, there is a compression at the center of her ribcage; a chord struck upon heart- strings that rings bittersweet nostalgia.

another blink and waning expression is shook away, a short huff of air to accompany the smile that spreads upon her lips, a spark of recognition in cobalt gaze.

Xion feels safe, hearing this woman — and she fights against the feeling. She cannot afford trust and safety has been an illusion for a long time.

Blue irises stayed focused on the other woman, slight confusion became apparent on the young girl. Something seemed rather familiar about the other, but the redhead couldn’t quite figure it out. The appearance, voice, and even clothing; all familiar to the young girl.
“U-Uhm.. I’m really sorry if this seems rude, but do I know you? You seem really— really familiar..!”
and of course, aqua does not expect a grand reunion -- so much has happened in the realm of light, and aqua is the one out of touch with time. a slight tilt of her head as she meets kairi's gaze with a certain reassurance.
