Raphael walked out the chemo room, having gone through the procedure step by step with the little kid, only to run smack bang into Alec, “Watch where you’re going.” There was no real malice in his voice, only tiredness. He was three quarters of the way through his shift, and so far it had all been talking with patients, talking clinically through the pain they’d go- or were going- through. He was drained, to say the least.
