He moved his things over politely, making room for Luci to settle in beside him. Through long, dark lashes he peeked over at her, catching the outline of her profile. “It’s almost as if they think we’re going to take the break to actually study,” Tripp let out a breath of air from his cheeks, “Ridiculous.” His hands wound their way into his pockets and he stretched out before an idea cropped up with a mischievous look, “Have you got another class today Luci? Or can I kidnap you?”

“ i barely have time to study while i’m here, let alone over holiday break. ” the blonde lets out a soft sigh though she still wears the same natural smile in tripp’s presence. an eyebrow quirks up in interest as he suggests a little something divergent from the norm though luciana plays it off as a more difficult decision to make than the yes she wants to give. “ oh well you know ––– my schedule is so full today with having my nails done, purging my closet before the new year, filling out my new planner for next year . . . ” a laugh threatens to break through the serious facade and she holds off till finally a hand reaches out to give his arm a gentle squeeze with a laugh to follow. “ all of that can wait though for you. what is it exactly you have in mind ? ”

Cool fingers pressed over his eyes, he grinned before spinning to identify who they belonged to. The voice was a dead giveaway, as was the press up from below– “Luci.” Tripp turned, laughing as his impression was confirmed. He leaned back a bit, taking in the blonde’s image. “How the hell have ya been?” It hadn’t been long since they’d last seen each other, but he was theatric– a day had the tendency to feel like a week.

“ ding ding we have a winner ! ” luci offers a charming smile as she circles around the bench to take a seat besides tripp, one leg crossing over the other at knee as she makes herself comfortable. “ oh you know ––– breathing a little easier now that almost all my finals are over and done with. it feels like we just got back from break and now they are throwing all these exams are way. ”

luciana spots tripp from across the courtyard and approaches from behind to keep the element of surprise. with quiet footsteps she sneaks behind him until hands can reach over to cover his eyes and she whispers, “ guess who ? ” // @trippwright​

The blaring sounds of classic rock strung through his air pods, Emmett finishing off his last set, trying to push himself as far as possible to the point of slight pain. The gym being one of two places that he felt like he could just relax and not be bothered by nonsense and people that he didn’t really care to be around. The music room being the other, or really any place that he could be with his guitar to write. Sighing as he set down the weights along the rack, the tips of his hair dripping with sweat, his biceps slick from the work out.

Pulling his sweatshirt over his clean tshirt, after just taking a shower, gathering his belongings and putting his earbuds back in. The volume turning back up to it’s maximum, the bass of the music throbbing through his head. Barely noticing the winter breeze hit his face, or even the shoulder he bumped into as he kept his gaze down on the ground. “Shit, sorry.” Emmett exclaimed, taking an earphone out and pulling his hood off. “Lu, hey!” He grinned, looking down at the female with a soft grin. “Where you off to?”

her focus is kept on the screen of her phone as she walks, a photo in the process of being edited instead of paying attention to where she’s walking. the moment she has the exposure set just right is when her petite frame collides with emmett’s and she glances up to deliver a quick apology. “ hey ! on my way to escape the cold somewhere besides my dorm room. nothing says warmth like a peppermint white mocha from robust. feel like coming with ? ”

Warm laughter left Eme’s lips at that, easily able to appreciate the naming abilities of parents. Although her mother had left little to be desired with her name and had given her twin a much easier one, she held no ill will towards it. “Probably not much.. But you may be able to get a few action shots.” Eme gestured to Luciana’s camera, a familiar smile on her lips. “My mom used to take photos.. Before she became a surgeon. She was always into landscapes and scenery” she admitted, fondness crinkling her gaze. “Do you have a preference?” 

“ oh i do, one in particular of spray paint turning into a flame thrower because some people still don’t know how aerosol cans work. ” luciana lifts the camera and powers it on to scroll through the photos until she reaches the one in particular to show eme. she tucks it back away and interest piques at the mention of her mother, a brow arching up with curiosity. “ used to ? i’m sure she still can if she wants too. me personally i like portraits, there’s something about capturing emotion on film and looking back on that moment. ”

“Photographer is a strong word. What she does is a bit more guerilla,” Charlie assured her, leaving any further explanation at bay. “How do I look in this lighting? I’ve been needing a new upload for my social media.” He dangerously stepped back closer to the blaze. “Actually, this is too trashy of an image for me to convey. I need more suits and gothic decor.”

luciana waits for charlie to take place in front of the flame as she watches through the lens of her camera ––– “ you’re right . . . apocalyptic chic isn’t exactly your aesthetic. but i do know where we can go for something a little more regal and still edgy. ” she lets the camera hang from around her neck before tilting her head up towards the abandon floors of the building. “ let’s go explore. ”

“Are you saying I’m not enough to rack up interest from your followers? Because I’ll have you know I’m quite marketable.” His mind drifted. “You should work with Miller Bergdorf. I hear she’s all about Instagram and followers, all that stuff. You could say I model a bit for her too.”

“ i’m saying my standards are pretty high for my main feed. ” luciana offers a smile as she turns on her camera, adjusting the settings for the lighting they’re in. she’s quick to look up at the mention of him modeling for someone else with a quirked brow, lips pursed together for a moment. “ are you cheating on me with another photographer ? ”

“Even for a picture,” he asked, though shrugged it aside. He opted for the spray paint himself, slapping a twenty into the guys hand. Participation was mandatory, of course, even if destruction was not. He had to be a part of it all, if only in segments. “Red or black?”

“ let’s go with red, ” luciana replies ignoring his other question. she tucks her camera into the safety of the designer backpack being used as a purse for the night and leaves it out of the way before taking a stand beside ari. “ is this the part where you show me some hidden artistic talent ? ”

Eme laughed warmly at that, sipping at her own drink as they made their way through the party. “Luciana is a beautiful name.” she responded easily. It was slightly cooler the closer they got to the outdoors, but Eme knew once they got the bonfire started then things would really heat up. “I’m thinking about taking a bat to the car or something.” she admitted, shrugging her shoulders lightly. “When else do you get the chance for some non-illegal chaos?” Eme laughed, looking over at her new friend. “How about you?”

“ thank you ––– i wish i could say i had a hand in picking it but it was all my mother. ” another laugh chased with a quick drink from the plastic cup, her head shaking as the same question is turned onto her. destruction of property isn’t exactly what she would consider fun though she understands the appeal but really she’s there to document it with her camera and get a little drunk in the process. “ i am observing tonight and honestly i am not sure how much of that car is left to destroy anyways. ”

Gazing down at the girl that was appeared next to Emmett as if out of nowhere, raising his brows. The light of her phone lit up her features and the red head couldn’t stop the subtle shake of his head and smirk tugging at his lips. “Or maybe someone put a body in the trunk and is just burning the evidence.” Keeping his stare towards the crowd. “Can I get you a drink? Mine was obviously empty.”

“ maybe not the most charming thing to say when you’re alone with a girl. ” there’s amusement laced in her words as luciana slips her phone into the back pocket of her jeans, attention fully focused on the male as he offers up a drink. “ as long as i don’t have to drink alone then sure, i’d love one. ”

Ari wanted to accept it. He wanted to break a window so bad. They were so limited and it would be so satisfying. But he knew he couldn’t. Pictures of him smashing a window? if his grandmother ever saw, she’d have a fit. “Oh, not up to smash it yourself, Princess?”

nose crinkles at the nickname ––– luciana is not particularly fond of it but no matter how many times she asks for him to drop it the name keeps coming. “ if i’m going to smash a car it isn’t going to be when someone gives me permission, takes all the fun out of it. ”

Margot whirled around, eyes widening as she recognized the voice. “Angel,” she exclaimed, reaching an arm out embrace her. “Don’t mention Ibiza or I swear to god I’ll burst into tears right here. I’m suffering, you know I hate cold,” she leaned back to take in Luciana’s outfit, “You look incredible, of course.”

an almost squeal of excitement slips past rouge lips as arms wrap around margot in an embrace. it had been far too long since they last saw one another and it almost felt too surreal to see her standing there. “ which is why i am so surprised to see you here ! and as always looking so stunning ––– but what even are you doing here ? ”

The fetching girl’s set of syllables soothes the anger threading crimson to the male’s features, relief flooding within her abdomen, “yeah, no thanks to you. I think he was about to threaten to sue. God, what is it with business majors?” a string of laughter parts the curve of her mouth, “I owe you, Lu. What’ll it be, can I grab you a drink?”

“ they are all terrible ––– don’t let anyone tell you any different. ” a hand reaches out to fix stray hairs so they fall back in place before luciana pulls her hand away and smiles. “ a drink or two sounds wonderful but what i really need is a partner out on the dance floor. what do you say ? ”

For a moment, she had him fooled. It wasn’t the worst thing he heard that night but would have been inconvenient at the least. “Only if you get my good angles,” he played along, “Are you planning to post these anyway by any chance?”

“ you’re really going to make me work hard then. ” the banter between them comes easily as luciana leans back against a nearby tree, manicured nails drumming against the camera strap. “ maybe ––– if anything they’ll be instagram story quality, i  need to go find another model to make it onto my main feed. ”

“I don’t mind at all.” Eme grinned, ordering a drink for the girl behind her and turning back to her while it was made. A soft laugh left her lips at the statement and she blushed warmly. “Thank you. It’s no problems, honestly. I know how crazy these lines can be.” Emmeline grinned, taking their drinks and handing the blonde hers. “One whiskey ginger, for my new friend.” she clinked her glass against hers softly, a smile on her lips. “I’m Emmeline by the way! But everyone calls me Eme.” 

with a clink of their drinks luciana steps out of the way so others can do the same, a small sip quenching her thirst as she smiles at the introduction. “ luciana, people call me a lot of things so i’ll let you decide. ” she laughs softly as the two slowly make their way towards the chaos of the evening which she welcomes with open arms. “ do you have plans to add to the destruction ? ”

Emmett finished off another one of his double whiskeys that he had over the course of the night. Tossing the red solo cup to the dirt on the ground, stepping on the plastic and making the cracking sound under his feet. Tucking his hands into the pockets of his denim jacket, about to head towards the bar before observing the students demolishing the car that was set to burn later that night. “I’m convinced whoever started this party is just trying to get revenge on an ex.”

“ litter much ? ” luciana speaks up from the spot beside him though eyes stayed glued to the screen in front of her as she texts away, thumbs a blur until she hits send. finally she glances up and raises a brow at his observation, a coy smile paired with a small shrug. “ or maybe a teacher who decided not to grade on a curve during midterms. ”
