Ryleigh watched as the other set down the little girl. âOkay, how far did she fall from?â She asked her. Sometimes this meant nothing kids just fell and got hurt. It was good news that the girl was not crying anymore. It meant that whatever happened might have just scared her more than anything. Ryleigh took her stethoscope from around her neck and checked the little girls heart. Everything was clear there, she sat her up to listen to her lungs. Handing the small child a roll of gauze to keep her distracted. Her lungs sounded clear. âEverything is good there. Iâm just going to touch some areas to see if they are tender on her.âÂ
Lucia pulled a hand nervoulsy though her thick black hair as she tried to remember the incident. âIâm not sure, I-I-I was in the kitchen when it happened, but I think she fell from the couch?â Lucia said, honestly unsure. She had merely heard the thump from her landing and the crying. "I heard her crying so I ran to her and found her on the floor by the couch.â Lucia continued, panic in her eyes as she brought herself back to the incident. The young mother felt somewhat more calm when she saw her daughter hold and examine the roll of gauze the nurse practitioner had handed her. Lucia silently nodded quickly a few times to the otherâs words. She just wanted her to examine Camila and for everything to be okay.Â
