It's difficult to find an internship
Ultimately I think it's a confidence thing. I mean, everyone applying doesn't have an abundance of experience in the field they are applying to. We're all third year undergraduates after all. So I keep trying to tell myself, not everyone here is leagues above me.
I'm not applying to a managerial position asking for years of experience and hoping the company will look past that and see my "potential".
I'll say that, but I do feel, I'm going to f**k up the interview, one question and I stutter or say something stupid (or even more stupid, saying I don't know) and I'll blow it.
It feels like when I took my driving test, at any second in time I could do something devastating. But with a driving test, it was something I had the capability to do.
In any case, the particular degree course I choose to pursue should make me a candidate that should stand out. But the qualities we have the aren't from education is something that I'd need to work on. Communication in a group. I will tend to be someone who would refrain from expressing my ideas, unless I was sure what I was doing was the right way. This is a terrible quality of course.
But, I'm not expected to be perfect, when I think of the other students on my course, it's easy to see that my qualities fit some job descriptions better than theirs. How do they get placement opportunities?
It's also something I've kept putting off as it's something I've been worrying about. This is a quality I need to absolutely work on, which I really feel holds me back from many oppurtunties.
