Being a Northerner, pies hold a very special place in my heart (even more than Nutella) so when I heard it was British Pie Week it was pretty obvious that I had to create something to commemorate this glorious occasion! Now I’m off to eat some more of that delicious humble pie.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the ladies today! We’re so fortunate these days to live in a world with so many inspiring women to look up to, I for one am surrounded by such amazing and inspirational women who I proudly call my family and friends. Also, a massive shout out to all my fellow lady illustrators and designers!
This week's Quote of the Week comes from French writer Simone de Beauvoir. Change is something that comes naturally in life and it's something that we have to embrace - even at times when we don't particularly want to!
So we're in March already, this year is already flying by! I've got some exciting bits and bobs for this month with a new 'Quote of the Week' for tomorrow, a little bit of a travel diary from London, a couple of new projects I'm working on and something rather exciting at the end of the month! As you know I went to the prize-giving for the Book Illustration Competition last Thursday, it really was such an honour to be within this group of talented people and a part of this wonderful evening full of fun and laughter especially from the War Horse author himself Michael Morpurgo! - pictured with myself and the lovely Fi Smart. Once again, a huge congratulations to the short-listed entrants and winner, Alan Marks!
Well me and my dear Mother are off to London until Saturday, so I’ll be a bit quiet for the rest of the week. We’re going to go to the prize giving for the Book Illustration competition and then having an extra couple of days exploring. Wish me luck! :D
