there was a wave of security, warmth and home that hit her when lucien pulled her closer that she couldn’t ( and didn’t want to ) ignore. just like lucien was one constant in her life, the way he made her feel also fell into that category. in the beginning, a mutual annoyance, that even back then inspired a passion within her unlike anything or anyone else. now, a love so big that she felt as if she could drown in it, even if her body had been made for the water, even if she belonged in it. he had always been special to her, in one way or another. regardless of what happened, she had him. that was what she had to remind herself through all the panic and the fear. their bodies were almost one, and yet, she wanted him to be closer still. a part of her wanted to ask how this time was different than the last, but her real name coming from his lips ripped her of any questions; momentarily, of any worries. it didn’t last considering she had to be pulled back to reality whether she liked it or not, but the mere fact that he was capable of such thing amazed her. ❝ i know, lucien. i know. ❞ she muttered, placing a soft kiss to his neck. there was no doubt in her mind that if it was up to him, to them, everything would be okay, but she appreciated that he didn’t make a promise he couldn’t keep. a single tear rolled down her cheeks when his hand rested on her stomach, her whole body reacting to the touch, a shiver running down her spine. ❝ i suppose the ocean isn’t a valid answer. ❞ there was the tiniest hint of a smile on her lips. ❝ i don’t know, actually. i don’t have a place on land. ❞
it was almost funny how everything that was going on was reduced to almost nothing in the seelie’s mind the moment daniella told him about the pragnancy. everything become that much more unimportant, the whole world and its doing paling in comparison to the mermaid in his arms and to what could be in their future. but it shouldn’t surprise lucien, and if he had to be honest it didn’t, he had known it for a long while now just how important she was to him, how he’d give up anything for her if she just said the word, asked. all he need to be perfectly content was her and her love, mixed with his own to created something he didn’t even believe it existed, at least before he met her for the very first time. ❝ we’ll do everything we can, and i’ll never leave your side for the whole way through. ❞ he said, tone soft, he couldn’t make many promises but that was something he knew he would have done. he leaned back ever so slightly, just enough so he could look at his own hand resting on her stomach, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. ❝ and you are right. i guess the ocean might be the safest place for you right now but- ❞ he looked back to her, head tilting to the side. ❝ i don’t think i could stay down there with you for more than a day, i’m not really made for the life down there. ❞ he chuckled. ❝ come stay with me? it’s not a palace but it’s a quite cozy house, and it’s near the beach so you don’t have to worry about staying too far from the ocean. ❞
