If you’ve noticed that you haven’t seen much of my posts around lately, it’s due to the fact that tumblr once again senselessly terminated my account. Again, for “posting threats and violent content”. If you remember they terminated my blog last summer for the same reason and it took literal months for them to review my appeal and restore my blog after seeing that I hadn’t violated the guidelines! Honestly, I didn’t think this mistake would happen again, but never underestimate the incompetency of tumblr’s reporting system and the staff behind it. No other social media platform has this much of a vendetta against educational true crime writers (even fb which is notorious for its heavy censorship) and oddly enough, no other social media platform besides tumblr has as much of a problem with neo-nazis, racism, and CP littering their site. It’s a backward system with backward priorities.

I’m surprised by how many followers I have on this account despite the fact that I haven’t really used it! Thank you all for your continued support and to my other followers, I hope you find me here soon. I hope everyone is staying safe during these trying times and don’t hesitate to reach out to me, even if you just need to vent! ❤️

Let me know if you want to see new posts on this blog. I’m a little discouraged from writing true crime on tumblr though, I hate the walking on eggshells feeling. I’m thinking I may expand to other platforms.

Hello everyone! In case you didn’t know (I just now accidentally found out), my original blog @luciferlaughs has FINALLY been reinstated by tumblr! On the morning of November 9, 1979, Forestry worker Robert Taylor went for a stroll with his dog in Dechmont Woods, nearby the town of Livingston in Scotland, where he claimed to have been assaulted by extra-terrestrials. Along the path he was taking, he came across a clearing. Hovering above the forest floor was what he described as a ‘’flying dome’’–a massive, spherical object about 6.4 meters (7 yards) in diameter. He claimed the unusual object was ‘’a dark metallic material with a rough texture like sandpaper’’ featuring an outer rim with small propellers. He stared in astonishment as the object appeared to be dematerializing and solidifying again. Just then, a horrible burning smell permeated the air around him as two smaller spheres that resembled sea mines descended from beneath the much larger sphere and began rolling across the grass toward him. They stopped before him and protruded six spikes, then seized him by the hips and attempted to pull him toward the space craft. At that point, Robert lost consciousness. He later woke up battered and bruised with rips and tears in his clothing, the air full of a choking gas. But the objects that attacked him had vanished. 

Police would later accompany Robert to the area in the woods where he received his injuries and discovered strange indentations in the ground that oddly resembled ladder-shaped marks and forty holes surrounding it. The police recorded the incident as an assault, and Robert’s torn trousers had been sent to a forensic lab for analysis where it was concluded that something had indeed attached itself to his trousers and tried to pull him up. But skeptics believe there is a more logical explanation to what Robert had experienced. Patricia Hannaford, founder of the Edinburgh University UFO Research Society, suggested that he may have had an epileptic attack which could have caused hallucinations, the foul odor he detected, his headache, and his loss of consciousness. 

But how do these conjectures explain the strange imprints in the ground? Steuart Campbell, a UFO skeptic who had examined the site where the incident occurred, thinks he may know the answer. He noted some PVC pipes in the adjacent field that may have very well been stored in the clearing. He also came to find out that the local water authority had placed a cable duct about 100m from the clearing. Both of these could have very well been responsible for the strange ground markings that were observed. Suspiciously, when the government’s UFO files were released in 2009, it was devoid of any record of Robert Taylor’s encounter. Could this have been a cover-up?

To the day of Robert’s death, he fervently maintained his stance—on that brisk morning, he was attacked by something out of this world, something extra-terrestrial. And many conspiracy theorists and avid believers of aliens remain on his side.

On the night of October 12, 2018, 16-year-old Karlie Gusé skipped a football game to attend a party with her boyfriend where, according to him, they all smoked marijuana. At around 8pm, Karlie called her stepmother, Melissa, to pick her up from a location near a trailer park. However, by the time she had arrived, Karlie already left and was running down a dark road. Melissa eventually caught up with her and Karlie slipped into the backseat, stating she thought Melissa’s car was going to kill her. Throughout the drive home, Melissa noted very paranoid behavior exhibited by her stepdaughter, such as moving seats several times. The strange behavior only progressed when they arrived at their Bishop, California, home, where Karlie resided with her father, stepmother, and siblings. Her mood kept shifting between very paranoid and very excited, and her pupils were hugely dilated, a clear indication that she was under the influence of drugs. The teen was given a salad to eat, which she had spit out and referred to as the ‘’devil’s lettuce’’. Melissa decided to record Karlie’s voice, as she intended to show her what she sounded like under the influence the following morning when she comes down from whatever possible drug that had taken over her mind. 


Early on in the investigation, Melissa claimed to have routinely checked up on all the children at around 5:45 AM before going back to bed. She woke up at 9:45 and opened Karlie’s bedroom door, only to discover she wasn’t inside. Nor was she anywhere to be found inside and outside of the home. The only clue left behind was a footprint in the driveway that presumably belongs to Karlie, and the front door open ajar. However, Melissa would later change her story during a Dr. Phil interview where she stated she had slept next to Karlie in bed the whole morning and woke up in a panic when she noticed she was gone.

The missing girl was spotted by three other witnesses on that morning, appearing to be disoriented as she was walking down Ponderosa St. toward Route 6 in California, but other than that, there have been no other confirmed sightings of Karlie. The local police launched a massive search which included foot patrol, helicopters, scent dogs, and off-road vehicles, but all efforts were fruitless; it was as if the teen had vanished into thin air, not leaving a single trace to go on. 

Karlie Gusé has light brown hair and blue eyes. She stands at 5′7′’ tall and weighs roughly 110 pounds. She may have been garbed in a white shirt, grey sweatpants, and Vans shoes at the time of her disappearance. In January 2018, a 17-year-old girl escaped from her family by leaping out of a bedroom window of her small stucco home located in the working-class city of Perris, CA, and called 911 using a cellphone she grabbed from her home. In a calm manner, she identified herself as Jordan Turpin and described the years of abuse that she and her dozen siblings endured. She explained that they were never allowed to go outside, and that they lived in absolute filth due to the fact that they were only allowed up to one shower a year. They lived imprisoned and bound by shackles their whole lives, sleeping in their own waste. 

The teenager led police to her family home, which appeared like any other typical Californian home on the exterior. On the inside, however, they walked into the extremely disturbing living conditions of the remaining twelve siblings, ranging from ages 2-29, all bound to their beds by chains and padlocks. About half of them were adults in their late teens or twenties, though they were all mistaken as minors due to their childlike appearances. The siblings were very clearly malnourished, the eldest sibling weighing a measly 82 pounds, and many had cognitive deficiencies due to the lifelong abuse they suffered. Their parents, identified as David, 56, and Louise Turpin, 49, were immediately arrested and slapped with many charges ranging from torture and abuse of children and adults to lewd acts on children below the age of 14. After the news broke out, more gut-wrenching details began unraveling about the horrors that transpired within the Turpin home, which would no later be dubbed ‘’The House of Horrors’’. 

The children were forced to sleep during the day and stay up all night. Their parents kept them isolated from the outside world and never let them play with toys. They were generally only given one meal a day, which consisted of bologna or peanut butter sandwiches. The children were physically punished if they dared to steal food or access the internet. One of the siblings was strangled by their mother for sneaking onto the internet to watch a YouTube video of Justin Bieber. Six of the minor children who placed in foster care. The remaining adult children are now in assisted living. 

David and Louise were sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Some of the children issued their own statements at the sentencing hearing. revealing they were still haunted by the abuse but had forgiven their parents. One of them, now in college, had stated, ‘’My parents took my whole life from me, but now I’m taking my life back.’’ She added that the abuse made her strong and described herself as a fighter.

Joshua Maddux was an easy-going 18-year-old who thrived in the outdoors. He was a good student with a passion for writing and music. He lived with his father and two sisters in Woodland Park, Colorado; although he had endured the grueling divorce of his parents and the heart-shattering suicide of his brother in 2006, Joshua’s maddening resilience allowed him to remain as free-spirited and optimistic as ever. On March 8, 2008, Joshua told his father that he was going to go for one of his routine walks. However, this time he never returned. His family relentlessly searched for the teenager, contacting friends and relatives and scoping out homeless shelters and campgrounds. But alas, nobody caught sight of the young man, and his father officially reported him missing a few days later. Perhaps, he thought, Joshua decided to start his life anew someplace else and pursue his dreams as a writer or music artist. Or maybe he was still troubled by the death of his brother which prompted his self-imposed disappearance. Or maybe something much, much more sinister had happened to Joshua. There was no way of knowing. And as years and years slipped by without a solitary trace of Joshua, the trail went cold and his loved ones began losing hope that they would ever see him again or, at most, find out what really happened to him.

In August 2015, a man by the name of Chuck Murphy began the process of demolishing a cabin he had owned for a decade, just two blocks from the Maddux home, that he rarely visited. There, a frightening discovery was made during the tearing down of the chimney: a human body curled in a fetal position, with its legs above its head, wearing nothing but a thermal shirt. The corpse was identified as Joshua Maddux. Chuck Murphy had visited the cabin every now and then and noticed a strange odor, but assumed that it was due to dead rats. The autopsy found no traces of drugs in his system, nor did he sustain any trauma. His death was ruled accidental. It was theorized that Josh probably tried to crawl through the chimney to get inside the cabin, got stuck, and died there. But Chuck Murphy vehemently disagreed with this conclusion. First, he argued, he had installed a steel rebar on the chimney to avoid issues with animals and debris–it would have been impossible for him to access the chimney from the outside. Secondly, a large breakfast bar that had been ripped from the wall was used to block the fireplace. And lastly, the rest of Joshua’s clothing were neatly folded beside the fireplace.

There have been very few suspects in the case, although police have received plenty of tips about one peculiar individual, a young man by the name of Andrew Richard Newman, a new friend of Joshua’s. After graduating high school, he became a drifter and had several encounters with the law including grand theft and assaulting a police officer. He was also wanted in Mexico for stabbing a man to death, and had confessed to murdering a woman and stuffing her in a barrel (although the police had arrested somebody else for that case). Tipsters reported that Andrew had bragged about having ‘’put Josh in a hole’’, and despite repeated persistence to investigate him, police have dismissed these claims.

Karla Faye Tucker led a troubled childhood that would follow her into adulthood. She was born in Houston, Texas, the youngest of three siblings. Her father had abandoned her as a child and she began smoking cigarettes at only 8-years-old. By the time she reached the age of 14, she was already engaging in drug use and promiscuous behavior. She dropped out of school and, following in her mother’s footsteps, embarked on her career as a sex worker and traveled with many famous rock bands, including The Eagles. When she was only 20, her mother, the most beloved person in her life, died of a drug overdose. Through a group of bikers she had been hanging around with in her early 20s, she met a married couple named Shawn Dean (female) and Jerry Lynn Dean. In 1981, they introduced her to a 35-year-old man named Danny Garrett. Despite the huge age gap, the two struck up a relationship in no time. 

In the early morning hours of June 13, 1983, Karla, Danny, and a third person, allegedly high on a plethora of hardcore drugs, decided to break into Jerry Dean’s Texan apartment with the plan to steal his motorcycle. However, things took a much more ominous turn than that. Karla had a huge vendetta against her old friend Jerry after he had destroyed the only pictures left of her deceased mother and parked his motorbike in her living room, which had leaked oil onto the carpet. 

Karla and Danny entered Jerry’s room to find him in his slumber, so she sat on him, stirring him awake. In an attempt to defend himself, he grabbed her elbows, which was when Danny intervened and attacked him with a hammer. Jerry began gurgling on his own blood, so to make the unpleasant noise stop, Karla acquired a pickaxe that was hanging on the wall and began striking him a total of 28 times, disregarding his pleas for his life. Danny finished the job by delivering a final blow to his chest. Karla subsequently caught sight of Deborah Thornton, a woman who was spending the night with Jerry, cowering behind the bed, and attacked her with the pickaxe as well, piercing her directly in the heart. Karla later admitted that she derived intense sexual pleasure from the killings. 

Karla and Danny was arrested a week later and it didn’t take the jury very long to find her guilty of the two murders. Both were handed death sentences, although Danny died of liver disease before that could happen. During Karla’s incarceration, she converted to Christianity. She fought endlessly to overturn her death sentence, claiming that she was a model prisoner. Soon, a massive national and international movement also began advocating for the commutation of her sentence to life without parole. Alas, all of these efforts were fruitless when Karla was executed on February 3rd, 1998.

The Happy Land Fire was one of the deadliest cases of arson to have transpired in the United States. It occurred at ‘’Happy Land’’, an unlicensed social club located in the Bronx. A couple of years prior to the tragic event that would go on to ruin the lives of 87 families, the club was ordered to be shut down for reason that it violated building safety codes as it was lacking in fire exits, alarms, and sprinklers. But the club continued to stay up and running, which would later prove to be a fatal mistake.

Julio Gonzalez was running into bad luck one after the other. First, he had lost his job at a lamp factory in Queens, NY. Not long after, he suffered from a breakup with his girlfriend, Lydia Feliciano. He was also two weeks behind in debt. To Julio, he felt like he was ‘’down to his last hope’’. On the evening of March 25, 1990, Julio paid his ex girlfriend a visit at the Happy Club where she worked as a coat check worker. In a drunken stupor, he began arguing with her to quit her job, in which she told him she no longer wanted anything to do with him. He was then escorted out of the club by a bouncer while shouting out threats to ‘’shut this place down’’. 

Julio, as it so turned out, wasn’t bluffing. He went to the gas station, purchased a dollar’s worth of gasoline, and immediately returned to the club and drenched the entire base of the staircase. Then, he tossed a match, and the entire place soon flared up, trapping everyone inside with no escape route. Walking away from the angry blaze he’d started, he went back home and fell asleep. 87 people had died, and six more were injured. When firefighters arrived, they discovered bodies piled in front of the door and on the second door. Most of the victims had died of suffocation or from being trampled during their attempts to escape. His ex girlfriend, Lydia, was one of the six who survived the ordeal. When she had described the argument she had with her ex to police and he was arrested the following afternoon after he confessed to the whole thing. Julio was convicted on murder charges and arson and was sentenced to 25 years to life, to which he served until he died of a heart attack in 2016.

To honor all of 87 victims that died in the tragic fire, the street outside of where the Happy Club once existed was renamed ‘’The Plaza of the Eighty-Seven’’.

30-year-old Iana Kasian, a stunning model from Ukraine, seemed to have her life all made. She lived with her fiancé, Blake Leibel, a graphic novelist, in a luxurious apartment in a nice part of West Hollywood. On May 3rd, 2016, Iana gave birth to a baby girl. Three weeks after the birth of her daughter, everything seemed to be going well until Iana’s mother, Olga Kasian, was having trouble getting in contact with Iana, so she called the police and asked them to perform a wellness check on her daughter. The authorities stopped by the couple’s apartment, but Blake refused to open the door and assured them that everything was fine, prompting them to leave. Olga pleaded for them to try again, so the officers returned to their apartment the following day and were once again met with Blake’s denial of access. This time, they busted the door down and discovered large amounts of blood throughout the apartment. The police made their way to the master bedroom, where Blake had barricaded himself with furniture. Once they managed to gain entry, they walked into one of the most macabre scenes throughout the history of LA.  In the couple’s bed was none other than the mutilated corpse of Iana, covered with her daughter’s baby blanket. Blake was immediately arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Perhaps even more appalling than the police’s discovery were the disturbing details from the autopsy report. Iana’s entire scalp was ‘’tragically absent’’ and her skull had been stripped to the bone. She suffered numerous bruises and abrasions to the face, including a bite mark. Even more scarily, at the time of her autopsy, Iana only had about a teaspoon of blood remaining in her body, whereas the average human has about 1.5 gallons of blood in their body. She was still alive for another 8 hours after the scalp injury. Her death was caused by exsanguination and head trauma. 

Six years before, Blake published a graphic novel called ‘’Syndrome’’ about a neuropathologist’s quest to cure a serial killer. The cover depicts a baby doll with part of its skull missing, revealing the brain. Within the graphic book contains a gory illustration of a headless woman lying nude on a blood-soaked mattress, eerily similar to Iana’s murder. Prosecutors described the graphic novel as ‘’a blueprint for his crimes’’. Blake was sentenced to life in prison without parole, and Iana’s scalp was never recovered.

Now that Automattic, the company who owns Wordpress, has bought tumblr, I am clinging to a tiny thread of hope that tumblr will be able to restore its dignity. Pls don’t let us down, Automattic. Let’s make tumblr not a website of censorship, but a great place for writers of all genres across the board to express their inner creativity and educate others.

WilCo Sheriff: Victim in 40-year-old 'orange socks' murder cold case identified

There are new answers in a 40-year-old Williamson County mystery. Tuesday night, Sheriff Robert Chody said his team has uncovered the name of a murder victim long known only as "orange socks. " Deputies found the woman dead along I-35 in Georgetown back in 1979 -- wearing nothing but a pair of orange socks. For 40 years they never managed to identify her, or make an arrest. In 2017, Sheriff Chody put together a new team to tackle the county's cold cases.

The disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito has ‘’tragedy’’ written all over it, due to the fact that she had tried to reach out for help years after her abduction, but, alas, nobody was able to rescue her from captivity. Anthonette was only 9-years-old when she went missing from her home in Gallup, New Mexico, where she lived with her mother and younger sister. On April 6, 1986, at approximately 3AM, there was a sudden knock on the door. The girls were still awake, although their mother was asleep. Anthonette, initially cautious, approached the entrance and inquired who was on the other side. The mysterious visitor identified themselves as ‘’Uncle Joe’’. Anthonette may have thought that this person was actually her Uncle Joe, the man married to her aunt, but when she opened the door, she was immediately seized by two unknown men. Anthonette’s younger sister watched in horror as her older sister kicked about and screamed to be let go, but she was unable to get a good enough glimpse at the captors’ faces. Anthonette was loaded into a brown van and never seen again. The following morning, when her mother went to wake up her two children for Bible school, she was alarmed to find her daughter missing and called the police. 

It would take a year until Anthonette was heard from again. The first time was when the Gallup Police Department received a call from a girl who identified herself as none other than Anthonette Cayedito. She told them that she was currently located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before she could give them more information about her exact whereabouts, a grown man’s voice could be heard in the background yelling, ‘’Who said you could use the phone?’’ The girl screamed in terror, and sounds consistent with a scuffle was audible on the other line before the call was terminated. 

The second attempt for help would be made four years later at a restaurant in Carson City, Nevada. A waitress spotted a teenage girl who matched Anthonette’s description in the company of an unkempt couple. The girl appeared to be trying to get the waitress’ attention, such as by repeatedly knocking her utensils to the floor and tightly squeezing her hand everytime the waitress handed them back to her. When the trio left the restaurant, the waitress found a napkin under the girl’s plate which had two spine-chilling messages scrawled across it: Help me and Call the police.

This would be the last recorded sighting of Anthonette. The trail has since went cold, and police believe that she is most likely deceased by now. Anthonette’s real Uncle Joe was questioned by the police and is not deemed a suspect in this case. However, it was revealed that the police suspect her mother, who passed away in 1999, to know more information about her daughter’s disappearance than she is letting on due to a polygraph she failed. Welcome to my new blog!

For those of you who didn’t know, I became next in line for the tumblr purge. My blog was wrongfully deleted for ‘’posting threats and violent content’’. Obviously if you’ve been a follower of mine you would know that my content was strictly informational so all I can say is...lol. 

I’ve had that blog since I was 16, so to have it all snatched away from me is really disheartening. I’m still fighting to get my blog back, but I’m not gonna get my hopes up. I know many of you have followed my backup blog @everythingtruecrime but it’s a secondary blog which limits some of the things I can do so I decided to start from scratch (although I’d still strongly suggest following it if you would like to continue following my writing)!

I initially felt discouraged from ever returning again, but I won’t let tumblr deter me from doing what I love to do--and that is writing true crime. My book is coming along great and I have other projects in the works as well. 

I’m beginning to expand my writing across other platforms, so check out my new instagram and Facebook page to satisfy your morbid curiosity. Feel free to follow me on my personal instagram as well.
