Pureblood || Carina + Lucius
When the dessert appeared Carina’s eyes lit up. It wast her favorite time of any feast was the dessert. Carina took her fork and cut off a piece of the cake. She placed it in her mouth and it felt like her taste buds exploded, it was so good. “That boy across from me. Mum is trying to set me up with him too. I don’t like him at all.” she said looking at him and then back at the cake. “I’m trying to glare at him, but I guess it just isn’t working.” Carina sighed and ate another piece of the cake. “Really?” she asked looking at him smiling. “Oh thank you Lucius, perhaps you can find a book there too. Some of those books have chivalrous times, which I’m sure you would like.” Carina knew that Lucius never was one for muggle things, but she knew he would like these books.Â
“It looked as if you were making goo-goo eyes at him.” Lucius remarked, he never said words like that and wasn’t sure where he heard it from but it seemed to be the best choice for this situation. Chuckling as he put a piece of cake into his mouth. He didn’t like cake, he didn’t like anything sweet. It was for small children who couldn’t recognise or appreciate the fine gourmet food they’ve been given. Not that he’d actually tell Carina that because she seemed to enjoy it so much.Â
“I enjoy literature.” He told her as another cake entered his mouth. “Just not literature written by muggles.” Anything even remotely related to muggles were forbidden in this house. If father were to find where Carina hid all her muggle things, she would be in huge trouble, indeed.Â
Carina shook her head. “Why would I do that? He is horrible.” she said taking another bite of cake. The only person she was ever going to make “goo-goo” eyes at was Xenophlius, and he wasn’t there. “I don’t understand why mother has to set me up with these arses. Why can’t she just let me find someone I actually would like to spend the rest of my time with.” she said with a sigh.Â
“Oh come on Lulu!” she said taking his sleeve and shaking it. “I’m sure you would like these books. There are sword fights and dying people and princes and princess it’s all very wonderful!” Carina smiled at him and took another bite of the cake. “You should read some of the books I have, you would love some of them.”
"Because it is your duty as a Malfoy to marry someone of pure magical blood." Lucius droned. "As it is mine."Â
"Chivalry is overrated." He said simply, finishing the last of his dessert. He noticed Carina seemed to brighten up as she spoke of these things. "And don't call me that," he added.Â
