I made this because I did a Black 2 Nuzlocke some time ago, and I swept Heartbreaker Charles with a single Magnemite. I’ve procrastinated making it until today, so here you go.

I said I didn’t know what I was gonna do with this blog as far as Zekrom goes (like. what happens in Dragonspiral Tower after he confronts N), but I did catch it in-game just to get an idea about nature and whatnot. And also because I needed it for my Pokemon Home dex.

Zekrom’s hasty natured, which is the opposite of Reshiram’s relaxed nature in terms of buffs and hinderances. (Hasty is +SPD/-DEF, Relaxed is +DEF/-SPD).

I don’t know why I think that’s so funny, but I just think it’s hilarious that their natures are literally the opposite of each other-))

What do you seek?

Purpose

You blink and you find yourself standing in an open, grassy field under a bright blue sky. You think you are alone until you notice the luminous being which approaches from the distance. As it nears, you can see that the being is carrying a flaming sword. The being comes to a stop in front of you and hands you the sword. It is warm in your hands but not hot. Perhaps it is not really a sword. The being speaks to you in a clear, ringing voice. “This is yours. This is what you were made for. Go forth and do what you were meant to do. You will carry out your mission in this world and you will do it boldly, clear in your convictions. You will have no doubts anymore. Everything you do will serve its purpose. You are strong and you are worthy. You are enough as you are. All that you need is already inside you.”

HC - Nate’s Team

Willow / Female / Jolly / Proud of its power / Overgrow

Nate’s starter, given to him by Bianca in Aspertia City. Willow’s become a cornerstone for Nate’s team, being one of the few to have been with him to the very end. She has a proud and haughty nature, which she only drops when around close friends.

Eleanor / Female / Adamant / Good perseverance / Super Luck

Nate’s first capture, met in Route 20. The absolute game-changer of Nate’s entire roster. She’s swaggered her way out of certain death more than once over the course of the journey. Several MVP moments in the run could be attributed to her, including the fact that she OHKO’d not one, but two of Ghetsis Pokemon during that battle.

Argent / Gentle / Likes to thrash about / Sturdy

Captured inside the Virbank Complex. Another cornerstone for Nate’s team, Argent is the one who keeps an eye on their trainer and their teammates to make sure nobody gets hurt. Their gentle demeanor completely betrays the fact that they like to battle, though.

Lucy / Female / Rash / A little quick-tempered / Moxie

Captured in the Desert Resort. She didn’t become part of the main team until after Nate beat Iris, but that doesn’t mean she’s never had her fair share of shining victories. She completely swept Elesa’s entire team as a Sandile.

Rex / Male / Naughty / Often dozes off / Mold Breaker

Captured in Mistralton Cave. He comes very close to being Nate’s ace Pokemon (in fact, he’s second only to Willow) honestly. Since he evolved into a Haxorus, he was a huge help in bringing down Neo Team Plasma, and he had his fair share of amazing moments during the E4 series of battles (including dodging a Hammer Arm that would have certainly killed him).

Neptune / Male / Hardy / Strong willed / Synchronize

Captured in Celestial Tower. Like Lucy, Neptune became part of the official team pretty late into the game (he joined after Nate’s Starmie met their end). That doesn’t mean he didn’t pull his weight - in fact, he carried the entire team on his back during the fight with Caitlin.

HC Dump - Basics

It’s been a while since I last posted on this blog, so here’s a small refresher on Nate’s character (and why I picked the URL that I did).

Nate is Hilbert’s younger half brother. They have the same dad (Richard ‘Dick’ Bailey), and he was born about two years after Hilbert and Whitlea.

His mom is a Pokemon nurse who works in the Center in Aspertia Town, so he knows a fair bit about how to take care of Pokemon.

Took on the ‘first encounter’ challenge in an attempt to show Hilbert up (because he got sick of the constant praise his dad would show Hilbert upon becoming a Champion).

To that end, he chose a Snivy as his starter. Said Snivy is now a Serperior and is a proud and jolly-natured snake princess named Willow. She and the rest of his team will be talked about in a separate post.

And now to get into the URL: Nate and Hilbert have more in common than he’d like to admit, and that inclues being outrageously lucky.

However, Nate’s luck worked differently than Hilbert’s. While Hilbert had gotten incredibly lucky with the natures of his captures, Nate had a knack for attracting the most unlikely Pokemon encounters more often than not. If there was a 5% chance of encountering it, Nate’s gotten it on the first encounter nine times out of ten.

I lost track of his final death count, but I’m pretty certain it’s in the double digits. I’ll look back on the run and give a precise number at some point.

((It’s been a while!

I think I’m all rounded up with catches, so I’m gonna transfer Nate’s roster into Pokemon Bank/Home, and then get you guys up to speed on IVs on certain roster members.

And about the Master Ball? I’ll have Nate hold onto that. Maybe I could find a way to incorporate it in a thread somewhere.))
