Hello, dear Destiny! I hope you're doing well :3 This is my first time asking a question like this, so I'm sorry if I ask something out of place or difficult for you to answer.

So, do you think Harlequin has a romantic side that he just refuses to show? I've been focusing on getting to know him better and I'd like to know if you think we might ever receive some tender affection from him (even though he acts like a tsundere X'D).

He honestly isn't 'that' tsundere, except when the emotions are REAL.

Otherwise, I actually think Harlequin is pretty secure about his feelings/flirting when he thinks it's all fun and games. Real shit however, is what makes him pause---when he can sense your heart beat is calm, your breathing even, and eyes are earnest. Honestly.....now that he isn't used to, given that he is forced to hide his whole life.

He does this with Doctor too, who is often blunt about what he wants and how he thinks/feels.

That being said, Harlequin is VERY romantic, but it's just a little more on the sexual side, which may not be everyone's cup of tea.

If you're waiting for him to get you flowers and chocolates, you're better off with Pierrot tbh. Harlequin would only do romantic gestures like that with someone he ALREADY likes. Unlike Pierrot who falls in love quickly, Harlequin needs to get to know you first.....enjoy being with you, then he might end up taking you to the beach since you said you'd never been, or giving you a private puppet show because you were interested in how his process works. He'll only do this if he can trust you, if you're already his friend/likes you.

Otherwise, just expect regular flirting and invitations to make out or have sex.

Again, it's not the type of gesture everyone will enjoy, but if you're fun? He might actually try.....

I would say the most romantic thing you can do with Harlequin early on in a relationship is have MC and he talk.

Like really ENJOY talking. Having fun. Making jokes, doing pranks, etc.

Harlequin won't take you on a date (at least not without hinting he wants sex) but you can take him on one 83 show him what's good out there.

Also, just to clarify for everyone else, in Day2 of the game, if you DO choose to follow him into the tent MC says straight-up that they KNOW he wants sex. This is meant to show that if you choose to go to the tent, MC is aware and ACCEPTS a more intimate time with Harlequin. So, in a way, you'd have to be that sort of MC (who knows he wants sex and agrees to it) to pursue him at that point in the game. If you want something else, something less sexual, then you'd have to rewrite it in fics/headcanons!

Hi Destiny! I was wondering—how does Harlequin view himself? Does he have a positive or negative self-image? Thank you!

He doesn't have any hang-ups about himself physically, but when with a human he is SIGNIFICANTLY more aware of what he's not.

Harlequin can't even kiss a human properly because they might notice his forked tongue. He has to be careful, like the others do, at all times if he wants to stay alive. Plus, it's not like he can see himself, or those who look like him in magazines, movies, or TV.

I think to some degree all the monsters have self-image problems, it might even be one of the reasons why they seem to prefer radio or books over other visual media.

That being said, Harlequin does think highly of himself despite all of this against him, but when with humans he has to be EXTRA sensitive about WHAT he is at all times. Which, let's be real, might take a toll over the years on anyone's self-image.

He already has, technically. Day2 with the hug and/or when you hold his hand. Genuine affection shocks him, but he also, immediately tries to take back control after by flirting.

I will never tire of saying that this is one of the best games out there, one that inspired me and helped me advance the plot of my own project. AND THE STYLE?!?!? HAVE YOU SEEN THE STYLE OF THIS MOST BEAUTIFUL GAME?!?!?! Neko, your style is incomparable and mind-blowing! I can't understand people who might not like your drawings. Okay. Some Information, Updates, and Clarification

Hello everyone, Neko here!

(And currently a little sick, so I apologize for not clarifying things sooner!)

In previous posts, I mentioned a new partnership in China and official merchandise being made available there as well!

The Chinese side of the fandom showed a lot of interest in official merchandise and actively requested official products. Thanks to that support and enthusiasm from the fans, our partner, Chun Li Ji, reached out to me and kindly offered to help make that happen. China was actually one of the countries where I wasn't even sure I would be able to ship products myself, so their help has been incredibly valuable!

So far, no other companies in other countries have expressed interest in a partnership. Because of that, I've been working on creating my own store, which I've mentioned a few times before. Making these sorts of partnerships is a slow, careful process, and they don't appear overnight or happen without effort on part of a creator, the fans, and the companies themselves— these things take time and a great amount of care!

The first wave of products in the store I myself will be opening and running will include keychains, tickets, dakimakuras, acrylic stands, and a few other items! If everything goes well with production and shipping, I'll be able to start expanding the lineup with pins and other merchandise in the future.

Please remember that I myself am not a company, so finding suppliers and producing everything takes time. The first samples I received from some manufacturers didn't meet the quality standards I was looking for, so there's been a lot of research and testing involved in finding suppliers that can deliver the quality I want for you all. So until other partnerships are secured, I am working as quickly and as passionately as I can to allow fans elsewhere to have merchandise of these characters that they love so much, and it means a lot that you all are so outspoken and passionate about it!

Several products are already in production but they haven't arrived yet, which is why the store hasn't opened.

And throughout all of this, I refuse to put the game's update on hold! So yes, that means I'm also working hard on getting the Day 3 update out at the same time.

As soon as the products arrive, I'll be able to make posts showing everything in detail before the store officially opens.

As always, I'll keep you updated as I receive news about both the official Chinese merchandise and my own store!

I'm also aware of an unauthorized plush currently being produced and sold by a manufacturer without permission. The necessary steps are already being taken to address the situation.
