friendly reminder that i’m leaving this hell site and if any followers or mutuals want my contact details or screennames for other websites or w/e they should hmu
eastberlin replied to your post “i;m actually srsly considering leaving this hell site at this point?...”
My instagram is quartertothree if you want to follow!
i followed u. i don’t want to post my instagram name on here (bc tumblr assholes) but it should be pretty obvious who i am :p
it’s cool that there’s a twef list now though, i’ll see if i can remember the usernames of the all twef blogs i’ve hateread in the past because i probably know some that aren’t on there
finally all my hours of hatereading will be useful for something
seriously tho i think tumblr has actually made me feel worse about being lgbt, there are some really cool lgbt people here but there are so many people who are just downright hateful and i try not to let it affect me but that just isn’t possible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i;m actually srsly considering leaving this hell site at this point? there are just Too Many Assholes here, idk :( i’ve put up with a lot of this website’s bullshit but somebody finally took it Too Far and went after me on some truly personal shit. i kind of want to leave but also don’t want to leave??? because there are tons of cool people here (i’m looking @ u my cool followers and mutuals!!!!) but like, it’s not worth it to stay if i’m just gonna keep getting assholes coming after me u feel me (even with the new block feature, like tumblr couldn’t possibly make a block feature good enough to combat tumblr’s awfulness)
idk are any of my mutuals active on any other sites?? i made an instagram (tho i haven’t posted anything there yet), i still use livejournal (lolololol). if you’re a mutual or a longtime follower and you want to swap usernames for other sites (or even just email addresses os smth) so we can stay in touch hmu
(even if it’s just for like a totally random site like duolingo or smth lol... i’ll even sign up to new sites or apps or whatever to keep in touch with you guys if you want, i don’t really know what sites the cool kids are using these days)
does anyone has contact with lucythechatterbox? she hasn’t been around for weeks and i’m worried :(
i’m fine sorry!!! some tumblr asshole came after me about some really personal shit so i got fed up and logged out, then i was sick 5ever and i got distracted by real life stuff

for anyone who doesn’t want to read that longass post here’s the highlights:
by calling myself gay and saying that people who are solely attracted to women can be attracted to me i’m erasing my own identity as a non-binary woman
anyone who’s attracted to woman-aligned non-binary people as well as binary women is actually a multisexual because non-binary women’s womanhood is not Tru Womanhood
the only true gays are people solely attracted to one binary gender igss
i’m actually a Gay Multisexual and was wrong about my own sexuality all this time :’(
all gay non-binary people must call themselves multisexuals or they are erasing themselves
pointing out that words have meanings is wrong
survivors can do whatever they want, even if it’s homophobic or lesbophobic, they’re survivors so it doesn’t matter
OP doesn’t care that i’m a survivor who’s been in the exact situation they were describing. my feelings on things i have personally experienced are not important
Also an obligatory reminder that telling multisexuals not to call themselves gay because it “reinforces” the idea that lesbians secretly want to sleep with men and gay men want to sleep with women, and therefore leads to corrective rape and attempts to…
This is a bad addition to my post for a number of reasons and I neither have the time and energy to address all of it, but some big things stand out:
(1) You say gay needs to be the word to refer to people exclusively attracted to one gender otherwise the labels are meaningless, yet you yourself say that you are a gay non-binary person who is not attracted to just one gender. Being attracted to women and women-aligned non-binary people is not the same thing as being exclusively attracted to women, eg genderfluid, bigender and demigirls etc are not the same as people who wholly identify as girls.
Do I really need to point out how erasing saying women-aligned non-binary people are exactly the same as women is? Reguardless you being attracted to more than one gender and labeling as gay doesn’t really cause harm to me or the world at large, and there are many people who have the exact same attractions and gender identity as you while being non-binary who label themselves not as gay but as bi/pan/queer etc and they are not wrong about their labels either, funny how that works, it’s almost as if the word gay is not being used exclusively by people only attracted to one gender and the world is not ending.
(2) Lol yes I know non-binary gay people exist, that’s kind of one of the main points of my post, hell if I did subscribe to the idea that gay non-binary people attracted to more than one gender could not exist because it was “rude and innapropriate” I would tear you a new one because you are a gay multisexual, but I’m not going to tell any non-binary person, multisexual or otherwise, that they can’t use these labels when their identity is already not accounted or rejected by most of the language they use today and by society or for their personal safety.
For some non-binary people labels are especially hard because of their gender identity, I am friends with non-binary people who struggle with this and use gay as an identifier as well as other labels or while they are attracted to multiple genders, I don’t want to make it harder for them by accusing them of supporting conversion therapy every time they label or relabel themselves, it’s an unhealthy atmosphere to create for them even if their genders were not complex and I find that’s often not taken into account as a reason why a multisexual non-binary person might label as gay or such people are assumed to be incapable of being non-binary, that was my point. Oh wow I am totally “using” non-binary people to justify non-binary people being able to use labels that help with their survival, as a non-binary person I am totally exploiting myself and other non-binary people to make this point! Wow fuck off.
(3) Your “skepticism” that mismatched identities exist (eg homoromantic bisexuals) is wrong as hell, they exist, you don’t get to decide what labels they should or should not use anymore than I get to tell you what to use, you also have no right to decide whether they are legitimate or not, acknowledging they exist is not homophobia, I don’t care what tumblr posts you’ve read it’s a load of bullshit to throw that in there.
(4) What’s baffling to me is that you argue that the word gay is being made to mean “everyone not straight” and rendered meaningless for you to use, yet I could equally argue that non-binary inclusion in the gay label renders multisexual labels meaningless because that’s what differentiates multisexuality from other sexualities according to most of society (hell I’ve even argued with multisexuals honestly arguing this to me), that would rule you and countless other gay identified people out of the label. In short, that’s a crap argument and neither of us gets to decide conclusively “what counts” as a legit label for any individual person otherwise we both end up in a gate-keeping muddle.
(5) A core componant of the argument that multisexuals calling themselves gay “reinforces the idea that lesbians sleep with men and gay men sleep with women” is entirely dependant on defining multisexuality as inherently being attraction to men and women, people are not arguing that multisexual women calling themselves gay are supporting corrective rape because society percives them to be attracted to non-binary people as well as women, they argue that because the assumption is that multisexual women must be attracted to men equally or more than other genders, that was one of my main points. It’s incredibly naive to suggest that preferences or assumptions of preferences play no part in this since often the “multisexuals calling themselves gay causes oppression” argument goes hand-in-hand with the “multisexuals are not as attracted as much as us to the same gender, they will always prefer [x] gender” claim.
Yes that assumption is inherently erasing of multisexuals who do not fit that definition, yes it is inherently erasing of the reasons why people label themselves as any number of things including gay because like I said things are more complex, and it’s incredibly naive to claim that it’s not erasing someone’s identity when you’re constantly telling them “no this is how you should identify, this is how you all should label otherwise you ruin the language and are responsible for oppression”.
(6) I honestly don’t care if you think it’s rude that multisexuals, specifically bi people, call themselves gay due to trauma or past abuse. I seriously do not care about whether people think it’s “rude” when someone does anything because it helps them survive in a world that shits on survivors or as a direct result of their trauma, especially when it’s just a matter of language use. Seriously, there are zero fucks I give for this. You feeling offended by that is no comparrison to blaming survivors for abuse perpectuated against them for doing things as the result of their abuse (the main point of my post), I’m sick of people going “well yes it’s not their fault this happens but…” when faced with these people existing. Not all survivors are going to react the way you did after all and it’s not cool to dictate how they should behave or what they “actually are”, it’s fucked up, this needs to stop happening even unintentionally.
1. holy shit where did i say that women-aligned non-binary genders are exactly the same as binary women??? i didn’t say that???? i didn’t imply that???? yes thank you i know that being non-binary is not the same as being a binary woman, i am literally non-binary! i am literally one of the people you claim i am erasing. you’re literally accusing me of erasing myself, this is so rude???? you know there are a lot of non-binary lesbians on this site who define their attractions the same way that i do, do you think that they’re erasing themselves as well?
this is so rude honestly. like i;m not quite sure how to put into words how truly, truly fucked this part of your post is. thanks for explaining to me how a basic part of my own identity works, i didn’t know!!! and you know people claiming that women-aligned non-binary genders are exactly the same thing as binary women is actually a huge cause of gender dysphoria for me, i don’t think that, i would NEVER say something like that. honestly the fact you got that out of my post says more about the way YOU think than the way I think tbqh.
and yes i am only attracted to one gender. i’m attracted to “womenness” so to speak, i.e. women and non-binary people who identify partly or in some way as women. i’m not attracted to men or non-binary people who don’t identify as women in any way. i’m not saying that women-aligned non-binary people are exactly the same as binary women, because holy shit i don’t think that, but someone has to be at least partly a woman for me to be attracted to them, ergo i describe myself as gay and only attracted to one gender.
and no “the world is not ending”, i didn’t say that the world was ending, i said that by allowing anyone who wants to call themselves gay regardless of whether or not that label actually applies to them, you render the word meaningless and leave actual gay people with no words to accurately describe themselves. if you could refrain from mocking my and other gay peoples’ concerns in this area by saying we think that ~the world is ending, that would be great, thanks.
2. you did not just refer to me as a “gay multisexual” holy shit????? i’m not multisexual, i don’t identify that way, and you thinking you have the right to re-label me and my sexuality is rude as fuck. like “don’t refer to people with words they don’t identify with” is social justice 101, did you miss that memo or?
and you’re acting as though i’m the same as a bi person who calls themself gay and thank u very much but i am not. i am gay. i am literally gay. i am not bi, i’m not multisexual, i’m certainly not a “gay multisexual” (?) and you have no right to redefine my sexuality for me what the fuck.
your logic here that i (and other people like me who refer to themselves as non-binary lesbians) must actually be multisexuals because we’re attracted to non-binary people as well as binary people is actually more misgendering and erasive than anything you’ve accused me of saying. like, it’s entirely possible for someone who is only attracted to women to be attracted to me, because i am (partly) a woman. your acting like anyone who could be attracted to me would be multisexual puts me in a completely different category to binary women, and i’m extremely uncomfortable with that. i’m having a bit of a problem putting this into words but like.... my womanhood is not inherently different to the womanhood of a binary woman, and acting as though i belong in a wholly different category to them feels othering and pathologising to me.
i actually don’t agree that bi people calling themselves gay is supporting conversion therapy or other kinds of abuse (and i said so in my post so i’m not entirely sure why you’re bringing this up). non-straight ppl definitely don’t have the power to cause or reinforce abuse just by referring to themselves with a certain word, i think that argument is nonsense and people who make it are missing the point. non-gay people calling themselves gay is still harmful & offensive to a lot of ppl but yeah we need to have that discussion without accusing bi people of somehow causing homophobic abuse.
i’m not saying you’re exploiting yourself. i specifically mentioned that i know you’re non-binary to try to make it clear that i wasn’t accusing you of exploiting yourself. (i actually don’t think it’s possible for someone to exploit themselves, like what would that even mean?) my POINT was that it’s rude to use non-binary people to support your argument that anyone can call themselves gay when there are numerous gay non-binary people who disagree with you and find it offensive. i’m not saying you’re exploiting yourself, i’m saying you’re ignoring an entire subset of the group you’re supposedly supporting.
(and t b q h it’s a bit rich for you to be upset about me supposedly saying you’re exploiting yourself when you basically flat-out accused me of erasing my own identity as a non-binary person in your first paragraph)
3. acting as though sexual and romantic attraction are always two totally separate things is nonsense sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and by redefining the words “homosexual” “bisexual” etc. to mean only sexual attraction you’re playing into stereotypes about how lgb people are all hypersexualised fiends. i could write about this for days but this isn’t the point of this post so
4. i’ve already explained why this argument is wrong and why it makes me uncomfortable. also i’m not trying to personally define what the word gay means, i didn’t just make up the definition myself on a whim. i’m just. saying that it actually HAS a definition and people who don’t meet that definition shouldn’t use that word to describe themselves. i’m not sure why this is such a controversial statement??? i’m not bi, i don’t meet the definition of that word, so it wouldn’t make sense for me to go around calling myself bi. and if i did so bi people would have every right to be uncomfortable and ask me to stop doing it (i mean, me calling myself bi when i’m only attracted to one gender would play into stereotypes about how bi people will eventually ~choose the one gender they’re attracted to, just like bi ppl calling themselves gay plays into stereotypes about how gay ppl can become more ~open-minded and have ~exceptions).
5. once again i said that i don’t think bi people calling themselves gay causes homophobic abuse so ?
6. haha yeah don’t worry you’ve already made it pretty clear that you don’t care about a single thing gay people are saying wrt this issue. being a survivor doesn’t instantly give someone the right to do or say whatever they want. this is not “just a matter of language use” it’s a matter of respecting the feelings of gay and lesbian people on issues that affect them directly. the fact some people have been assholes and blamed bi people for homophobic abuse doesn’t somehow make it wrong for gay people to voice their concerns on this issue. i’m not trying to dictate how survivors should behave, all i’m saying is “please don’t call yourself gay if you aren’t gay”. and honestly i really hate the idea that’s ok for survivors to do whatever they want just because they’re survivors and they’re hurting. being in pain doesn’t mean you get to do whatever you like and completely ignore how it impacts other ppl. tbqh i find the whole “you can’t criticise what this person is saying, they’re a survivor and they’re in PAIN” to be incredibly condescending, being a survivor does not rob someone of the ability to consider the feelings and opinions of others, it doesn’t make someone completely unaccountable for the things they say. acting like all survivors are just big balls of emotion who are allowed to say and do whatever they want because they can’t control themselves or because their pain trumps everyone else’s discomfort is not a good way to support survivors.
how the hell am i dictating what survivors “actually are” lmao, all i said was that survivors who identify as bi are bi? i’m not defining their attractions for them literally all i’m saying is that they are what they identify as ??????? all i’m doing is respecting the way they identify and define themselves (something which you haven’t had the courtesy to do for me, just btw)
i’d actually like to know if all these bi/pan/etc survivors who refer to themselves as gay are actually people you’ve spoken to or know of or whatever or if they’re just hypotheticals that you’ve thought up because using survivors to support your argument is a good way to play on people’s emotions and get them on your side. just wondering
