Hello, Kamigami no Asobi fandom!
Do you doodle gods on your desk? Like to create god inspired image sets? Need an outlet for all those divine plot bunnies running through your head?
Here’s your chance to give your input and put those creative juices to work for one awesome week of fandom fun!
This is a brainstorming post for our first (?) official KamiAso fandom week. As of right now the week is entirely malleable, which means it’s a perfect time to chime in and get your voice heard.
Right now, we have two main points that I’d like to get us brainstorming on:
First off, we need a date. One that, hopefully, avoids any major holidays so people can be available to participate. And, while it’d be cool to somehow work this in as a countdown to the DVD release, a quick calendar check says August 25th is a Tuesday so… Here’s a couple alternate solutions.
August 16th - August 22nd (or)
So, the week before the release, or we could bump up to the last week of July. Meaning. This brainstorming post will be running through June, end of July avoids the 4th and gives people a breather for the people who prefer to make stuff earlier than the actual event and just post within the week.
The second thing, which is arguably more important than the first, would be our themes or what the prompts for the days will be.
Now, there are a couple directions we can go with this. We can do something of a guided prompt list - meaning that we’d choose themes specifically from the series with the intent that we’d try and give each character the chance to be highlighted. So, for example, while we have too many characters and too few days in a week to have each day be a different character and get everyone got we can totally do something like:
Day 3: Japanese Mythology
Day 4: Egyptian Mythology
And then have three more days of prompts we’d need to fill. (Love? Fate? Something else?) To get our full week.
We can randomize it. Throw a whole bunch of prompts into a bin as a group, I’ll run the list through a randomizer, and we’ll have a completely random set of prompts for people to work on. Meaning if someone wants to make all seven days about Loki’s short shorts, they’ll have a little bit of an easier time of it.
(And, yes, “booty shorts” will totally be the word I throw into the bin in the case that people decide they prefer a randomized list.)
What I need from you: I’d like to get people’s votes for the week they prefer. (Or, if both weeks are horrible, throw me your alternative.) And, which format of prompting they’d prefer to go with. (If you also want to give me your prompt suggestions as inspiration strikes that’s perfectly okay just tell me which set they’re intended for.)
First round of brainstorming will run until Saturday, June 13th.
Second round will be collecting prompt suggestions for our chosen theme.
