Azures narrowed at the form that greeted him. The first thought on his mind? Honestly, it was Serah. He could see the similarities, yet not at the same time. But as he stared even more at the revealing figure, he could identify the striking differences between the two individuals. No— this was someone far more different. And… was his first notion correct? Could she truly be a Seeress?
But…— his eyes tracked the chaos swirling around the other. Like a mere toy did she wield it, and within himself he felt some sort of yearning, some sort of kinship and abruptly did he bottle such an odd feeling down. Perhaps it was because of the Heart of Chaos itself that reacted to this large gathering? Yet even himself— that feeling of ‘wrongess’ that had assaulted him… it was fading. Perhaps erased completely for now in the presence of this being and the overwhelming amount of chaos here. Nausea abating, the dizziness fading— it was as if he had never felt the effects of resolution in the first place.
And it was honestly a relief.
Yet now, alarm lanced down his spine instead— he stayed silent even as she voiced her thoughts, eyes narrowing in slight confusion at such musings. Who exactly was she? He knew for a fact that she was a Seeress yet— why was she attacking him? Why was she even manipulating chaos in the first place?
Though that made sense— from what he knew, chaos itself aided in witnessing visions. It made sense for her to be using it, yet Yeul or even Serah never used it to this extent. There’s an odd whisper of approval across his mind, one that he sharply dismissed. What the hell was wrong with him?
Bare extremities ascended, gaze tracking the movements of the beast before them. Coarse digits flexed briefly before gripping the leather hilt of his conjoined weaponry, and he briefly wondered whether he should just showcase his abilities. Because this was some sort of test right? This was a new Seeress before him— albeit more lively than the last two, and perhaps much more willing to dabble in her inherent abilities. She was playing around, that he knew for sure. She couldn’t expect one of her own Guardians to be felled by this beast, right?
Her own Guardian… already he was considering himself hers. But he recognised her as a Seeress, and so he had to commit, no matter how shady this whole business was.
Even so, he wasn’t one to muck around, even if this was some sort of test. Azures emanated vermilion, and with a burst of chaos, time froze. He didn’t see the other, much less see whether she was affected or not, merely concentrating on the beast for now. Already his control over his powers was slipping, but he maintained a steadfast hold on them, immediately leaping forward at the creature and bringing his blade down upon the skull. Cleaving right through blood, flesh and bone, he ruptured the creature’s head, even as he cut right through it, he delivered several Ruinagas to finish the job. If that didn’t do it, if this Zaltys was still alive after that— then he’d have to resort to more extreme measures.
Releasing the time field for now, he agilely flipped back, landing easily on his feet, form hunched in a battle stance. Yet his attention was not focused on the creature he’d just attacked— instead, they stared straight at the supposed Seeress, and a brow rose as if to say: ‘anything else’?
