am i losing the drive to create things for an increasingly alien and hostile world whose mounting taste for fascism feels like a cold metal vise around my skull or am i just lazy and unmedicated and looking for excuses
[not drawing voice] I miss my character.
Commission I got from @lukael a while ago~
“Creative people have trouble recognising their skills as skills, because eventually they feel like second nature. This stuff really is valuable, if it wasn’t, people wouldn’t be stealing it. Creativity doesn’t feel special or unique until you realise people have to plagiarise it.”
— Hbomberguy on plagiarism.
man i wish my ocs (that i don't post about) had a fandom. alas
since it's N7Day let me just share again my artwork for the Project Normandy Zine that I did a while back
Mass Effect is and always will be in my heart regardless of future entries we may get... I'm tentatively excited about all the new stuff they've shown today, it for sure LOOKS cool but I've been hurt too many times to get excited about a game this early, I know things can change so much until now and release date, so... But man, getting a GOOD new Mass Effect game would be so great, I love this franchise
Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.
they're calling it the healthiest way anyone's ever engaged with art
dont worry kid. if you just devote yourself to your craft and put enough time and energy into practice one day you will also be able to make art that gets 50 notes on tumblr dot com
Having a bad drawing day when it's your own OCs is humiliating. "What do you mean you can't draw them, you invented them" Don't know what to tell you. Soft serve machine's broken
your characters love it when you draw them floating and/or in a white void. it gives them a break from existing within the context of reality for a while it’s relaxing
When you draw for someone and they set it as their profile picture
So I sent @lukael a little "where's waldo" mystery type of mod for him to find as he plays through CP77 for funsies, nothing immersion breaking or anything. A simple retexture.
I've been so patiently yet painfully waiting for him to find it across 40 episodes.
Well he FINALLY found it, my mystery, John Dick. So now I can post it:
I also installed it, but had no idea where they'd show up myself, so as I was playing I would take a pic with Johnny when I'd come across them:
I love this one especially because it's in River's trailer LMAOO:
Check out his let's play if you like deep dives/discussion into lore and taking the time to read everything!!!
If you like super in-depth and insightful let's plays that actually take the time to explore and understand the lore, my best bro @lukael has been going through Cyberpunk 2077 as well and has quite a few vids out already!
He is taking a very merciful approach to Night City as The Violet Phantom of the Bakker Nomad Clan.
Well worth a view!
