Not long after we got married,

Luke lost his wedding ring. He's been wearing my ring my Dad gave me, it used to be his wedding ring but he didn't want it after he & my step mother divorced. So now our wedding rings don't match.

I'm married!

Wow, what a night. It was perfect. Amazing. It really went too fast. I couldn't stop smiling. I LOVE being married to Luke. It feels so right. I feel so incredibly blessed. I was surrounded by loved ones. It was just an amazing experience. Marriage is certainly not just a piece of paper. It is so much more! It changes you. You feel deeper feelings than you did before. It feels like you should've been married all along. It's just so awesome.

11 Days!

That's just going to fly by! I can't believe these are my last days of not being married! I'm also very excited to see my family that I haven't seen in almost 6 months! I wish they didn't have to move to far away! :( But yes, so very close now. :D

How much money?

My little cousin (who is 16) asked me how much my wedding I costing because she & her boyfriend want to get married at 18. After saying I think she should maybe wait longer than that (I was 16 when I technically got engaged. & planned to get married at 18 too... But 2 years later I'm glad I waited.)

Anyway, I thought I'd share my note to her about the money.

"Now, onto your question, weddings cost a lot. But if you're smart with your money & have people helping, you can save a lot of money. Here are some prices I've spent on things.

Dress $38 (+$13 postage). It's just a summer dress. It's white & pretty. Not fancy at all. Just simple.

Rings $90 (+ $7 postage). Both mine & Luke's ring we got for $90. We bought them on etsy. They are hand made & have each others names inscribed on the inside of them. We don't mind if they're cheap. We can always replace them later.

Shoes $25 I bought some slipper type shoes. They look a bit like ballerina shoes. I'm not sure if I will wear them though. Thinking of just being barefoot. :)

Flowers $18 (+10 postage). They're paper flowers, also hand made from etsy. Only I will be holding flowers. I've decided my bridesmaids will hold a candle each instead of flowers.

Wedding ceremony & reception $250. We're having it at the upstairs room of the republican bar. You have to also pay for food which costs about $25 per person. We haven't organised food yet.

Luke hasn't bought a suit yet.

Celebrant $350. The person who will marry you. This person knows Luke's family so we got $40 off the price. Usually she costs $390.

Honeymoon. We currently haven't planned a honeymoon. But are thinking for now, booking a hotel for just a night & maybe have a longer one later. Hotels cost about $150+ a night.

As you can see, it's not cheap but I've saved so much money. Some people spend THOUSANDS. if you want a fancier wedding, you'll have to spend more money. But if you're ok with simple, using online stores like etsy, & eBay will really help."

Bridesmaid dresses.

I'm not sure what to do. One of my bridesmaids are pregnant. So I'm not sure how to go about choosing dresses for them. I did want them to wear the same dresses but I don't know.

I don't think I'll be carrying a bouquet of flowers.

Flowers are so expensive, & they don't even last long! & fake flowers are just as expensive most of the time too. Although I did find some paper flowers that looked pretty real. I could use them But if I don't I think I'll just hold a candle.

Photographer.
