“I should have told you then. You needed to hear it from this mouth, that has hurt you, mocked you and kissed you. What a disarray we made of this. I do not deserve you, yet I cannot see my life without you-”
JAIME LANNISTER ↳Refusing to admit his Brienne of Tarth situation to himself
They don’t know where they are or how to get back home and the lord they’re fighting for does not know their names, yet here he comes, shouting for them to form up, to make a line with their spears and scythes and sharpened hoes, to stand their ground. And the knights come down on them, faceless men clad all in steel, and the iron thunder of their charge seems to fill the world… And the man breaks. He turns and runs, or crawls off afterward over the corpses of the slain, or steals away in the black of night, and he finds someplace to hide. All thought of home is gone by then, and kings and lords and gods mean less to him than a haunch of spoiled meat that will let him live another day, or a skin of bad wine that might drown his fear for a few hours. The broken man lives from day to day, from meal to meal, more beast than man. Lady Brienne is not wrong. In times like these, the traveler must beware of broken men, and fear them…but he should pity them as well.

And I am the monster they all say I am.
In life, the monsters win.
Jeyne Poole and Tysha are the saddest and most pitiful characters in ASOIAF...
hi, i was wondering, which performances would you say are the greatest oscar snubs of all time?
Hi!
The biggest one for me is:
Paltrow should have never won over Cate. But that’s proof Harvey Weinstein can get you anything you want.
Thanks!
I personally cannot believe it still has to be said that Jaime Lannister is not a good person when he pushed a child out of a window in the very first book
He’s a complex person (yes I know I’m rising to this bait and everything but I just really enjoy talking about this) - and that’s what makes him such a fascinating person. Because he’s not just ~plain out evil~ or ~plain out good~ either.
Jaime did push Bran out of a window in the first book. And I am in NO WAY putting that to the side. Jaime is accountable for his actions, just like any of the characters. It was a vile and horrendous thing to do, and it was because of this that in Season One and Book One I absolutely DESPISED Jaime.
What you have to realise though is everything Jaime does, he does for people he loves. He’s not just harming and killing people because he enjoys it (like Ramsay. Ramsay genuinely enjoys abusing others). He knows if people found out about him and Cersei, the consequences on his family would be BEYOND severe. Yes, it’s true, it’s his own fault - but he doesn’t push Bran out the window just because he thinks it will be entertaining. He does it to protect Cersei, the Lannister name, Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella.
It’s just like what is arguably his biggest crime comes down to. Jaime is branded the murdering Kingslayer his whole adult life; when in fact, he did that to protect his father, who he loves, his family, who he loves, and an entire city that he has no allegiance to really but does not want to see killed. He did what he had to do to protect people he cared about.
That is ultimately what Jaime’s character comes down to. If Jaime is loyal to you, he will be loyal without question, hence the atrocities he has committed such as murder (and I mean, he literally jumps into a bear pit to save Brienne’s life without a plan whatsoever - he just knows he must be loyal to and save this woman he cares for).
He’s not a good person. He has committed some absolute atrocities. But he’s not a bad person either. Because the terrible things he has done have more complex things behind them. Jaime is a complex, full character - and that’s why I like him so much.
Alas - Book-Jaime is....complex and everything. Show-Jaime is not.
In the show he is back to doing everything for Cersei. Being more vengeful and ruthless than she is. He is worse than he was in the beginning. No redemption arc whatsoever - he is just LARRY forever following his precious, sad, pitiful CAROL around the surprisingly uninhabited Red Keep accepting known zombies into the Kingsguard....sometimes looking like Grumpy Cat (or is he trying to imitate the Obara-Muh-Renly-expression as well?). And he seems to be the ONLY person in Kings Landing that doesn’t know anythingabout his sisters fornications ;o)
Dear Internet,
You know what makes me grumpy?
When I want this:
But I get this:
I am totally over this Tormund/Brienne nonsense. By all means let’s forget about a relationship that was established over the course of almost two seasons; let’s forget that Brienne gave Jaime the will to live when he wanted to die, and that Jaime risked his life to save her from the bear. All that pales in the face of Tormund suggestively eating out a piece of bread.
The thing is, to me, this whole thing smacks of making fun of Brienne, and reinforcing the idea that only a comic relief character like Tormund could find Brienne attractive, because there’s no way that handsome Jaime could possibly fall in love with her, it’s all a platonic Bromance. Isn’t it HILARIOUS that a man could ever want Brienne?
By the way, no, Tormund is not the only guy who’s ever looked at Brienne like she’s precious to him. To whit:
(He’s just looking at HER HOME in the second one, sheesh! “The waters aren’t even as blue as her eyes!”)
And even more importantly, who does BRIENNE want? I dunno, let me see:
Yours in disgruntlement,
Humorless J/B fan
I think ( I HOPE) the showrunners just needed some replacement for Hyle Hunt - so Jaime has some competion ;o) I LOVE Book-Brienne’s and Book-Jaime’s story arcs - but since Show-Jaime annoys me a lot since season 4 and Show-Brienne annoys me even more (looking like she is trying to make the Obara-Muh-face too hard and just going about staring at Winterfell and killing people)... I see the Tormund-Brienne-thing as comic relief - at least something that entertains me this season.
So now the only baratheon left is just still fucking rowing, right?
After last episode “The Door” most people think Bran & Meera will be saved by the forever missing Benjen (which D&D will surely fuse with Coldhands) - but I still hope it will be GENDRY showing up so far north! How about that? I like that theory - maybe he will bring the missing hounds from S06E01 and the whole Brotherhood... Just wait and see ;o))
GET JAIME OUT OF KING’S LANDING 2K16
where his character arc is essentially going backwards at the moment, and he is now doing this
and this
when we all know his true nature is this
and this
@ Game of Thrones this is me right now. GET HIM OUT OF KING’S LANDING PLEASE. ENOUGH OF THIS IDIOCY.
Yes please! Stop making Jaime a power-hungry idiot! Someone tell him about Cersei shagging around.... so he can finally leave the city and maybe eventually turn into Ser Goldenhand the Just - you know, a person with a brain and a conscience....

Brienne turned, and saw a ghost.
Renly. No hammerblow to the heart could have felled her half so hard. “My lord?” she gasped.
“Lord?” The boy pushed back a lock of black hair that had fallen across his eyes. “I’m just a smith.”
He is not Renly, Brienne realized. Renly is dead. Renly died in my arms, a man of one-and-twenty. This is a only a boy. A boy who looked as Renly had, the first time he came to Tarth.
ASOIAF Meme → 4/9 moments - Brienne stumbles across Gendry
....will Gendry and Brienne ever meet in GOT? As awful as the show is by now - I don’t even want that anymore.
“I’m saying we are human, you are not the only one with wounds.”
I want THAT in the show! Thoros must come back!
