secret times: what's something about [Xavier] you wish more players knew / talked about?
I feel like a lot of Xavier things get missed or forgotten, hence my "Things About Xavier That People Miss" Posts, Part 1 and Part 2
But more importantly, I think people only see the "horny jealous bunny" side and miss the fact that he's a very well-rounded character!
People say all Xavier does is sleep and play video games but he's very busy, taking missions and often times extra work from dealers in the N109 Zone. He goes out of his way to do more than he has to for the good of humanity and working towards some personal goals. He's exhausted all the time, so yeah that makes him sleepy, and over-use of his evol literally makes him sick. You'd sleep too if your special ability literally gave you pneumonia if you weren't careful.
When it counts? He wakes up even earlier than MC just to make getting her day started a bit easier. He makes and plans time for her because it's important to him that he's not sleepy when he's with her (except later into the relationship when it's more cozy-naptime days). Most times, he doesn't want to miss a single moment with her!
I think a lot of people know he has a horrible pain and weight on his shoulders, and has been lonely most of his hundreds of years of immortality. Yet he's not bitter, or vengeful, or jaded. He has a really colorful life, a gazillion hobbies, and a lot of meaningful friendships with people all over the world, of all ages and walks of life.
Xavier was raised in a world where he doesn't/isn't allowed to have or show a lot of emotion. But you give him a lot, so half of his "indifference" or "non-chalant" is just him processing a lot and how to deal with what he's feeling.
Xavier is more duty bound than people think. People think he only cares about MC. He does, but he also doesn't. There's still Philosians on earth that he feels a bit obligated towards. He's implied it. Jeremiah has tried to tell him he doesn't have to feel that anymore, but Xavier still does, because it's who he is.
Having MC in his life gives him freedom – to be who he really is, or wants to be, to let some weight off his shoulders, to processes and accept a lot of emotions that he's repressed, to want in more temporary things, and to take it easy now and then.
Yes he's insane for MC but that's not all he is. He hangs out with other people, he loves teaching kids, he volunteers, he likes dancing, he really likes fixing old things, he's neat but he's got a junk closet because he's been keeping things in case he ever met MC again in this lifetime and then continues to save stuff from her. He saved a napkin she wrote on for crying out loud.
Xavier tries. Really, really hard, to be everything he thinks she needs. He is a caretaker and I think he's trying to cover lost ground where he thinks he wasn't able to really be that for her in their first lifetime. So yeah! He's taught himself to cook, and he keeps improving! Not-so-disasterous in the kitchen anymore!!
Xavier does try to communicate – as he grows closer to MC, when she becomes his safe space to do so. He apologies, he steps up, he admits his failures, he admits why he keeps secrets, he tries to do better. It's an ongoing process, but he is growing, and changing, and I think that's worth sticking around him for.
sunny apple: what kind of LI would you be in an otome game? what would your tropes/themes be?
I would be the silly/goofy one, probably a himbo equivalent, with Mom issues. Pragmatic and responsible, but also sometimes a ditz. I wouldn't want to be a slow burn, but because the MC is always someone who doesn't understand all the signals, it would probably comes off as really flirtatious LOL. You think I'm a flirt at first but then realize I earnestly like you and am just stupid<3 but then it takes a bit longer to crack me open and see what it's like inside. I like equally balanced relationships, so it's "I'll take care of you, and you take care of me!" I like to think I'd be cozy! But it depends on the genre!

BUT IT IS SO SO DIFFICULT TO KEEP IT AT THIS :(( I DO MISS CALEB AND XAVIER EVERYDAY :(((( if only we could yoink them out of the game...
caleb who hates seeing you in pain but also absolutely loves taking care of you when you’re on your period.
he loves how dependent you become on him, always asking him for food or tea or just for him to be your personal heater.
he massages your stomach without asking, eyes locked onto your face. he’s only focused on you as he makes sure he’s not being too rough and he’s happy when he hears you let out a content sigh.
you barely feel like doing anything yourself and he’s more than happy to do everything for you.
you’re snuggled up against him in bed with your eyes closed as he strokes your side softly.
you feel him shuffle a bit before he begins to get up and you let out a whine in disapproval.
“aww, my poor widdle apple doesn’t want her caleb to get up?” he teases.
you feel your cheeks heat up in embarrassment but you shake your head anyways.
he coos at your shyness, completely enamored with how you’re clinging to him. he kisses your forehead softly and wraps his arms around you even tighter.
“don’t worry, pretty girl. your caleb will stay riiight here next to you. always.”
