after a jillion years I’m finally done ⁽⁠⁽⁠ଘ⁠(⁠ ⁠ˊ⁠ᵕ⁠ˋ⁠ ⁠)⁠ଓ⁠⁾⁠⁾

so much happened like I lost my charger + 2 day power outage

this my 1st time drawing a background since elementary so that was my real struggle ⊙⁠﹏⁠⊙ but I thought it's worth a shot to at least try yk? I need to step out of my comfort zone more often but it's def gonna be a min before I try something as hard as this again

ugh idk how to crop stuff, but I really wanted to show off certain details like his "battle marks" + his new one on his forehead iykyk

I'm not familiar with Pandora anything so pretend the environment & lighting makes sense...

I don't really like grayscale but next time I draw navi I'm definitely testing it out to see if it's easier

I'm super slow at drawing so I don't think I would ever be able to keep up with art trends but I've always liked that Challengers reference + CSM (never thought I'd use it for So'lek but it's cool)

Drew this Monday night & I was gonna post this on Tuesday but I've been so busy at drs appointments + actually going out & having fun (⁠ﾉ⁠◕⁠ヮ⁠◕⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠*⁠.⁠✧

I'm actually a lot better with default pencil brushes bc it's a lot easier on my wrists to not lift anything up for brush strokes

stg if I ever get a PC it's over for everyone (myself included) prob wouldn't even play & instead soend my time taking a million pictures of So'lek

this doesn't really mean anything but this piece was solely inspired by this one tiktok sound

Grew up ultra poor so for the most part I only had access to ancient cartoon reruns or dvd bundles on clearance ⊙⁠﹏⁠⊙

In my area there's hardly any signal (of any kind) so my parents would also watch cartoons when there was nothing else on. He-Man happened to be some of those cartoons my parents got me into, I'd watch in spanish dub ୧⁠(⁠ ⁠˵⁠ ⁠°⁠ ⁠~⁠ ⁠°⁠ ⁠˵⁠ ⁠)⁠୨

Gave myself a haircut recently & wanted to sketch it while it still looks nice. Tbh this was never meant to be colored or shaded bc it was just gonna be one of those random late night sketches (pencil brush bc I miss traditional art) but I thought that I definitely needed the coloring exercise...

also wanna use this final piece to learn how tweening works

I drew the sketch a long time ago before this other sarentu doodle but I ended up really liking it so I used it as my reference for this painting. I'm still trying to figure out how to draw so here I'm just playing around with color palettes. I was trying to go for a more pastel vibe & idc abt accuracy I'll use any excuse to use purple 💜

Pretty sure I keep drawing my lip mark* on the wrong side (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠) my best friend laughs at me bc I dunno where marks on my face are off the top of my head

I'm not used to using multiple layers for skin so drawing Na'vi is such a hassle bc I lose most of my details after I slap on some stripes. I still have so much to relearn but I think this was pretty insightful

Not a fan of the lineart bc I always accidentally draw everything too light and here everything is poorly layered and multiplied to try and compensate ತ⁠_⁠ತ (my eyes are so sensitive)

I got inspired by @nakisaee on twitter, their post where Tamtey sees So'lek with Rimu

I ship many characters with So'lek including Rimu (Neytiri is my wild card x Solek ship) but when I made this, the song was more so directed to the ppl who were in charge of telling So'lek & Tamtey's story. Don't have a PC to play but the more I saw the less I could stay neutral on the ship (Avatar luvs a mentor turned romance story ヘ⁠（⁠。⁠□⁠°⁠）⁠ヘ)

I expected this ship progression to be the complete opposite. Why is So'lek the one that fell in love if Tamtey is the one always following him around? (Tamtey was "following So'lek for some reason" before & after the romantic cutscene)

 Even now they only view So'lek as "great friends" while his status has always been "ultra friends" ヘ⁠（⁠。⁠□⁠°⁠）⁠ヘ

I keep getting getting harassed by Jake Sully stans that won't accept that I don't like him. tf they so mad for? why care abt me not wanting to do fanart of stuff that I don't like? (tryna get free fan art in my specific style stg) I'm not the only avatar artist out there I'm just a forgettable grain of sand in this busy fandom

The people that'd simply ask for Jake are completely innocent, it's the offended stans that would respond to me under these polite art requests (for being a "Jake hater")

Not gonna name names but I've had similar reactions to other media when I say I don't like the main character. I don't have to like the mc to like the show (I rarely like the mc in any show so I'm super impressed if I do).

I’m currently taking a break from that lvl of realism and coloring but I’ll definitely keep this in mind for whenever I’m having a slow day. I want to make a habit of always having something to draw (but without rushing myself)

FORGIVE ME BUT YAP SESH:

I really want to go easy on myself & try not to get all in my head abt followers and junk. Genuinely takes me so long to draw bc my environment makes it impossible to lock in ತ⁠_⁠ತ

During the day there's almost no free time & then at night I'm not allowed to be caught being awake so I've been using my relatives orthopedic pillow thing (TOO FIRM)to help me make a pillow fort. Biggest problem is how absolutely uncomfortable it is ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

1. Hot as hell I gotta stick my head out for air every few minutes

2. Still cramped like my pen gets stuck in the blanket constantly

3. Headphones are comfortable for long periods whenever there ISN'T a blanket weighing em down

I'm practically giving myself a shrimp back 🦐 I'm too young to be feeling these avoidable body pains (⁠⊙⁠_⁠◎⁠) (I use a wrist brace since I've always had bone/joint issues)

So yeah plz be patient with me (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)
