genre/cw- fluff, slight angst, slice of life, tutoring sessions, arguing, reader and ni-ki are enemies(?), realization, confessions, school setting, falling in love, ni-ki hates everyone but reader
summary- Ni-ki’s notorious reputation soon changed it’s course because of simple tutoring
You and Ni-ki could be considered as the cliche bad boy and good girl trope. He was the student that created nonstop ruckus which you always had to shut down. You were class president, so that meant having to keep everything in check during school hours.
It was no surprise hearing Ni-ki had despised you. You expected it but didn’t care enough to dwell on it. Simply, you and Ni-ki were never meant to get along.
So imagine the despair you had hearing that you would have to tutor Ni-ki in order for him to pass. You wanted to crawl into a hole and never show your face again, but you only gave a tight smile before being dismissed.
You wondered how you would even approach Ni-ki about his tutoring session, he was rarely ever in school and whenever he was he avoided you like you’re a plague.
You somehow wished for a miracle that Ni-ki would just be accepting of the tutoring session in order for him to pass.
When you walked into class, you saw minimum students still lingering in there. It was the end of the day so it was expected everyone would be out the door by the mere sound of the dismissal bell.
The few students greeted you before grabbing their own bags and leaving the classroom. You were going to grab your own belongings and leave but you gasped when you saw Ni-ki asleep on his desk with his headphones on.
No one had woken him up when school ended? You knew Ni-ki and the other students didn’t necessarily get along with each other but you thought they would have some decency and wake him up.
You gulped nervously before softly tapping his arms that he used as a pillow. When your attempt failed, you shook his arm hoping that would be enough to wake him up.
When you realized he was still fast asleep, you shook him a little harder while calling out his name. Even with those attempts, his sleeping figure never faltered.
You sighed before giving a shove to his body while yelling out ‘riki’ instead of the name he preferred. This was the successful trial as he groggily opened his eyes and raising his head to take in his surrounding.
He looked around the empty classroom but when his gaze landed on you he scowled. What a thoughtful response, after being the one who woke him up.
He didn’t even say a word, he grabbed his backpack and stood up from his desk to walk out of the classroom. You grumbled under your breath before calling out his name, you still needed to tell him about the tutoring sessions,
You knew he was ignoring you as he continued to walk away, you grew frustrated and you knew you shouldn’t do what you were going to do but it was the only way.
You followed Ni-ki out the classroom and pulled the side of his headphone off and he whipped his head at you as if you were crazy.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Come tomorrow and stay after school. We have our first tutoring session tomorrow”
“Our first what?” He squinted his eyes at you to see if you were joking and when he realized you weren’t, he grew irritable
“I don’t need tutoring” He grumbled and was going to pull his headphone back onto his ear until you started to talk
“Your grades say other wise, you better come tomorrow Nishimura if you don’t I’ll hunt you down and bring you myself” After you were done, you gave a fake smile turning your back to head into the classroom to grab your belongings
Ni-ki scoffed at your actions, you had some nerve. You actually thought he would show up for a tutoring session, to hell he would.
Now Ni-ki didn’t actually anticipate for you to hunt him down. Before he could step a foot off of school grounds, he felt himself being dragged back into the school by his empty backpack.
When he turned around, you didn’t even pay any mind to him as you pulled his backpack to drag him back into the school.
You weren’t going to risk having your school record tainted because of someone like Ni-ki.
“I told you Nishimura I would hunt you down” You only ever called him by his last name whenever you were angry or annoyed with him which was almost always
“Alright I get it, just let go of my backpack” He yanked his backpack away from your grasp, you stopped walking as you could seem him readjusting it on his back
You could hear his grumbled but paid no attention to it. But what you did pay attention to was Ni-ki booking it down the hallway to get away from you.
You stared at him dumbfounded. He actually was going to make you chase him just to have one tutoring session, you felt yourself go crazy.
You scoffed before running after him, to hell were you going to allow him ruin your clean record.
And after much banter, Ni-ki grumbled in the chair in front of you. He had his arms folded already done with tutor session that’s yet to begin. You were humming softly as you organized the papers, you were too happy for his liking.
“Why are you so happy?”
“Oh I’m not happy, just trying to keep an optimistic attitude” You could see him rolling his eyes at you in the corner of your eye, you sighed before placing the organized papers in front of him, He looked at you confused with the stack of papers and you presented them to him
“This is all the work you missed” His eyes widen in surprise, there was no way he would be able to cram all this work into one tutor session
“This more than months worth of work, don’t tell me you thought it would be a one time thing” He sneered at you before grabbing the first paper and tried looking for a pencil, when you realized he didn’t even have one you sighed
You took out a pencil from your pencil case and placed it in front of him.
“Keep it, you need it more than me” Ni-ki looked at your pencil and felt anger, he didn’t know why but he did, he angrily grabbed your pencil and looked at the paper trying to figure out what was on it
You saw him struggling and sighed, this was why you’re here. You scooted your seat closer to his and he squinted his eyes at you before scooting away. You scooted again and he scooted away, now you were growing frustrated.
You glared at him and he glared back, he had no problem going up against you.
“I’m trying to help you” You seethed through your teeth, you were already having to take time out of your day to help him
“I’m not asking for your help” He bantered back, why was it hard for you to understand he didn’t need you help
“You’ve been staring at the paper for over 10 minutes, I think you do”
“I don’t, I was just analyzing it” You scoffed and nodded your head, you knew this would be harder than it seemed but you don’t know if you could hold on
“Fine, l only wanted to help you but I guess you don’t need it. So don’t make a ruckus when you finally realize you’re failing” You looked hurt before grabbing your all belongings and left Ni-ki, you had no energy to go against him when he clearly didn’t want you around, you would meet his wishes
Ni-ki didn’t look at you as you walked away from him, he kept his eyes on the paper, he felt relieved but for some reason he felt a gnawing at his stomach, he only discarded it as an uncomfortable feeling left by you that stuck to him.
He didn’t want you around, so he was glad you were finally respecting his wishes.
Now you would expect for Ni-ki to be pleased without your presence but it only made him angrier. You weren’t even acknowledging him anymore. When he did something, you didn’t even bat an eye and continue working or talking with your classmates.
You haven’t bothered him about the tutoring sessions after what happened during the first one. You were clueless by the way he was irritated by this, why was he always so angry because of you?
You two were the last people in the classroom, you stayed behind to make sure everything was where it was meant to be. Ni-ki on the other hand had no idea why he stayed behind, maybe it was the fact he stayed up until late at night trying to figure out one of the missing works or an unknown reason he didn’t want to pry open.
It’s been a week and you haven’t said a word to him. He was tired of it, and tired of not knowing what the stack of missing work was.
“We need to talk” No response, you began to pack up your belongings getting ready to leave him alone once again
He can’t believe he was about to do this, never in his life did he ever think he had to stoop so low especially for you. Just what had gotten into him?
“I messed up okay?” You still didn’t responded, you continued to hum for yourself and you were already on your way out the classroom door, Ni-ki followed after you, why was he doing this?
“I said I messed up, aren’t you happy that I’m admitting my defeat?” You continued to hum, you weren’t going to give him the time of day just like how he did to you
Suddenly you felt a tug at you book bag, you were pulled back onto a wall, he had you cornered and you shockingly looked at Ni-ki, who was beyond frustrated. Why were you ignoring him?
“How many times do I have to repeat myself? I messed up, I messed up and oh guess what I messed up” You looked at him unamused, it was the same treatment he gave you and now he didn’t like the taste of his own reputation
“Okay, what do you want me to do? Congratulate you?” You raised an eyebrow, Ni-ki was beyond shocked with your words, you always refrained from talking like that to him
“Help me” Those two words left Ni-ki’s mouth before he could even register what he said, his and yours eyes widen at the sudden plead of help
He didn’t have anything to say after that, he kept opening and closing his mouth to form some coherent sentence but couldn’t. You waited for any words to follow his previous statement before you spoke.
You gulped and nodded your head before pushing past him slightly.
“Alright, we’ll start tomorrow. I’ll meet you at the same place and this time I won’t hunt you down”
Ni-ki didn’t need to be hunted down by you. He was already waiting for you, the stack of papers in front and the pencil you gave laid ontop of them. You were shocked to see him already there, you really expected him to bail on you.
You were surprised when he gave you a head nod as a greeting. To others it may not have meant much but to you it meant almost as big as the world, he never greeted you without a comment.
“Let’s get started?” You sat down next to him and before you knew it, the first official tutoring session had already flown by like a breeze, Ni-ki was hesitant at first but soon warmed up and started asking for help on questions he didn’t know
You didn’t know that he had a side to him that he never showed. The quiet and concentrated side made you wonder what more was there to Ni-ki than what he presented himself as.
When you finished the tutoring session it was already late in the afternoon, the sun had already set as the sky was now filled with stars and the bright moon. You’d already bid goodbye to Ni-ki as you walked off, but you stopped when you heard him call you.
“Uh let me walk you home” His voice was soft, something you never experienced before, you almost let out a laugh thinking he was joking but when you realized he wasn’t you were quick to look at him surprised
“Why?”
“It’s late and it’s dark already”
“I’ve walked this plenty of times, I’ll be fine Nishimura”
“Stop being so stubborn and let me walk you home”
“I’m not stubborn, you’re being stubborn”
Ni-ki walked you home that night, you don’t know how long you two stood there bantering over nonsense until you were too exhausted to continue arguing. Ni-ki smiled with pride when you gave in and peacefully walked you home.
Ni-ki realized you didn’t talk much when you were alone, you seemed to have been in your own world admiring all kinds of different scenery during the walk. Ni-ki gave some space between you and him, he let you walk ahead as he walked behind you.
The walk wasn’t uncomfortable it was rather one of the most calming walks either of you have ever had. It’s just strange that it so happened to be together.
Over the course of the tutoring sessions, the two of you may had not noticed it but the people around you have. They way your banters have subsided and were now civil conversation and greetings, sometimes with smiles or chuckles.
People were surprised to see Ni-ki act different from how he usually is. He no longer created as much ruckus as he used to, he no longer missed school, Nishimura Riki actually started attending everyday of school after the tutoring sessions started.
People were shocked to say in the least, you had changed Ni-ki and you didn’t even realize it. Even Ni-ki himself didn’t realize the change he was going through.
The two of you were having a normal conversation when Ni-ki suddenly placed his hands onto your shoulder to move you out of the way before you could get hit with a flying ball. He still had his hands on your shoulder as he glared off at the student who almost hit you with the ball.
“Sorry, I should’ve seen where the ball would head to”
“Next time watch it” The person looked at Ni-ki, curious about his sudden care towards you but still just picked up the ball and walking away from the two of you
You didn’t realize Ni-ki’s hold on you until he asked if you were okay, when you turned to face him he held a worried expression. Now this was something you never ever experienced in the time you’ve been classmates with him.
You couldn’t trust yourself to make a coherent sentence so you only nodded your head, he sighed and let go of you. He bid you goodbye saying he needed to head somewhere and that he would meet you at the same place, same time for your tutoring session.
You felt a hard thump against your heart as he walked away, now that wasn’t normal for you.
Ni-ki and you were at your usual study session but you kept a little more distance than usual. When you sat down, you discreetly scooted your chair further from him but he still noticed either way.
He thought that it was because your seat moved by accident and that you would adjust it closer to him so he didn’t worry about it. But when you didn’t and only sat farther from him, that’s when he took notice of it.
He called out to you and you hummed, slightly turning your head to see what he needed help with. You let out a gasp when the bottom of your chair was dragged towards Ni-ki, when you were face to face with him you saw the stoic face he let on.
When you were close to him, he looked away and continued doing his work as if nothing happened. The same hard thump against your heart appeared again, and you only looked away but stayed where you were at.
After the tutoring sessions, Ni-ki always walked you no matter what the times was. It was habit of his that he couldn’t (didn’t) want to let go of, you didn’t mind but today it was different. You were walking further from him, almost as if you were trying to escape from him, he frowned at the sudden change in attitude towards him.
He wondered what he did wrong, he made sure he was in class, he did his work, he went to all the tutoring session, didn’t cause anymore ruckus, he even walked you home. So why were you running away him?
You know you were acting foolish but you couldn’t help it. You didn’t like the uncomfortable beating in your chest, and it only happened when you were with Ni-ki. So you thought it would be best if you decided to distance yourself, to get away from the uncomfortable feeling. You knew it wasn’t his fault, it was your own problem and you needed to resolve it fast.
“Are you okay?” His voice was soft, it was a voice that he only used with you (after thorough observation) You felt the same heart beat in your chest, you felt like you couldn’t breath and were on a cloud
“I’m fine” It was obvious you weren’t but you didn’t want to admit that, you didn’t want Ni-ki to know that there is a vulnerable side to you that you never show
You were the class president, you had to ‘set’ an example.
“Then why are you ignoring me?” Silence, it was almost unbearable, you didn’t know how you could respond without make it seem like you were losing your mind
“I’m not, I’m just tired” Ni-ki who only started to warm up to you recently could tell you were lying through your teeth
“Stop lying, it’s annoying” His choice of words weren’t the best but for some reason you were able to interpret it the way he meant it
You and Ni-ki were getting along and it seemed like you both molded to fit the other into your lives with ease. You gulped, this was dangerous and you were getting nervous.
“I’m not lying, I’m just really tired okay?” You gave a warm smile trying to ease the tension and you thought it did when Ni-ki didn’t speak and only stared at you
Ni-ki couldn’t speak, he doesn’t realize when your smile started to have effect on him but this was a moment of weakness. He admired your smile, even if it was forced, he still felt the effects from it.
He cleared his throat, ignoring the annoying thump against his chest. He nodded his head and took your word for it, if you didn’t want to talk about it who was he to pry it out of you.
You continued walking but you walked beside him, Ni-ki noticed this but didn’t say anything. He didn’t want to ruin it. So as the two of you walked side by side, your hands would softly graze each others.
You would glance at each other when you felt the soft grazes but decided not to do anything. The two of you afraid to instigate something and possibly ruin the progress you’ve made with each other.
But neither of you could deny the fluttering of your hearts as no words were exchanged between each other.
People noticed yet another change between the two of you. They saw the way you were more friendly with Ni-ki, you started to joke around with him. Ni-ki would genuinely smile more when he was with you, he even found himself trying out for extra curriculums.
When he would tell you any sort of achievement he accomplished, you would be proud of him and celebrate with him after school. The time you two spent together was becoming every hour of every day, you two became attached to each other and didn’t even realize it.
Now people assumed Ni-ki would be like this with everyone, they were wrong. He still kept his guard up and stoic gaze on whenever other people tried to act the same way you acted with him. He would glare at them and scoff, not giving them the time of day before setting off to find wherever you were.
Now Ni-ki found himself waiting outside the classroom door until you were done. After what felt like hours, when in reality it was 20 minutes, you finally walked out the door with a smile.
He smiled back at you before tilting his head to head out the school. You nodded your head and you walked next to him like you always did now, you both talked about random topics. It felt like the two of you were in your own world and that you didn’t have to worry about anything as long as you both were by each other’s side.
Now it took some time for Ni-ki to realize (actually just one google search) that he likes you. When did he start to like you was beyond him, but he couldn’t stay by you without feeling like he was about to explode.
So what did he do with this new found information? He did the only reasonable thing, he shoved it in the back of his mind and acted like the feelings didn’t exist. He tried his best to act as normal as he was before he found it, but he found it almost impossible. His mind only functioned if you were the center of his thoughts, his bright smile only showed itself when you walked into his view.
He was worse than he thought.
You waited for Ni-ki for the last tutoring session, he’s almost done completing his missing work and that meant these tutoring sessions would no longer be needed. It made you sad, you enjoyed spending time with Ni-ki but you hoped after today you both are still able to be friends.
You waited for Ni-ki but he was taking longer to arrive, you played with your fingers until you heard soft footsteps. You looked up to see a nervous Ni-ki, he had his hands behind his back as he walked towards you.
When you gave him a confused smile, he felt like he was on top of cloud nine. Yeah, he definitely liked you.
When he was infront of you, he didn’t sit down. He looked at you and his eyes were filled with temptation, he took a deep sigh before taking the single flower that he held behind his back. You looked at him confused but that soon melted away when you saw his soft smile.
He ushered for you to grab it and when you did, he sat down next to you. You watched his every move, anticipating what he was going to do next.
“I like you”
Now you didn’t expect that, you stared at him frozen at his words, what did he just say?
Ni-ki decided why beat around the bush when he can be straight forward with his feelings. He knew he liked you, so why would he want to drag it for longer?
“What?”
“I like you” You thought you were hearing things, you blinked rapidly trying to have the three simple words progress through your mind
“You, Nishimura, like me?” Ni-ki nodded his head, he couldn’t lie that he felt nervous, he was starting to assume that you didn’t feel the same way
He was growing fidgety and you took notice of that. You realized this must have taken a lot out of him to do, you suddenly smiled before giggling.
You were just as swooned for him as he was for you.
“I was going to tell you about my feelings soon, guess you beat me to it” Your words were like fireworks in his ear, you couldn’t even register anything as you were suddenly tackled into a hug
Ni-ki held you tightly, he wasn’t one that enjoyed physical touch but in that moment he felt the need to have you in his arms. You were shocked by the sudden hug, but soon you hugged him back. He rested his head onto your shoulder as you softly rubbed his back.
“Does this mean you like me too?” His words made you laugh
“No, I just wanted to be tackle into a hug” Your tone was sarcastic but Ni-ki pulled away from you and looked at you dumbfounded, you laugh again before placing your hands onto his shoulder.
You decided to do something risky, you planted a soft kiss onto his cheek and when you pulled away, his eyes were in a daze of you.
“Yes Ni-ki, this means I like you too” He was quick to tackle you into another hug again, you giggled against the hug
Ni-ki wasn’t going to let you go after this. He could feel his heart pounding against his chest as you hugged him back. You liked him too and that was the best news that he had ever heard. Even though, he only ever shows it to you, you changed him for the better.
It’s weird to admit but he was glad he was failing because without that, you would’ve never been assigned to give him the tutoring sessions that change his life.
synopsis. heeseung wanted you to look at him as someone other than your brother's best friend
this is smut w a plot lol,,, mdni please!
“How the fuck do I answer this one?” You sighed, pushing your open textbook towards your brother, some complicated maths equation looking at derivatives staring back at you. Jay laughed, taking one look at the question and rolling his eyes.
“Y/N, I don’t even take maths,” he nudged his best friend sitting next to him, pulling him out of his thoughts enough to remove his Airpods. “Hee, help my sister out, would you? I’m pretty sure you took this class last semester.”
Your eyes widened the moment Heeseung looked over at you, a teasing smile on his lips, “it’s fine Jay, I can figure it out on my own. I don’t want to bother you Heeseung.”
“It’s not a bother,” he said simply, taking the textbook from your older brother and scanning the questions quickly. “Oh, this is pretty straightforward once you spot it. Here, pass me your pen and I’ll write it all out for you.”
“Oh,” you breathed out a sigh of relief, passing your pen over to him so he could scribble down his workings out. “Thanks.”
“It’s no problem at all,” he caught your eyes, sending you a quick wink before your brother could see. You tried to ignore the blush that flourished across your cheeks.
You’d known Heeseung for a few years now, he had become Jay’s best friend once he started university and the two of them were inseparable. You had started the same university the year after them, coincidentally picking the same major as Heeseung. But you did your best to steer clear of your brothers friends, you knew he would go crazy the moment he even suspected something was going on between you and one of his friends.
Heeseung was a player too, you would always overhear him talking to your brother about his most recent hook up. Even other students in your university would talk about him, every guy wanted to be him and every girl wanted to be with him. But he never wanted to be in a relationship, Heeseung wasn’t that type of guy nowadays.
Heeseung was definitely trouble. As much as you tried to stay away from him, he seemed to always be around, dropping by your house to study with Jay or lounging on the couch when you got home from classes. He never seemed to be busy, the only commitments he had appeared to be hanging out with Jay and basketball practice a few times a week. The only reason you knew this was because he inserted himself into your conversations with your brother, and each time you would exit as quickly as you possibly could, never uttering more than a handful of words to him each time.
Like today. You had been sat at the kitchen table studying when the two boys had joined you. Jay decided to get ahead on some work for his own classes, whilst Heeseung sat there playing a game on his phone, airpods in. You couldn’t ignore the constant glances in your direction, always keeping tabs on what you were studying. It was why he was so thrilled when Jay volunteered him to help you, he had been waiting for an excuse to talk to you for the last two hours you’d been sat together.
“Do you understand it now?” He asked, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips because he knew you weren’t actually listening.
“Huh, oh yeah,” you took your book back, scanning the working out he’d written down, actually understanding it for once. “I got it, thanks Heeseung.”
“No stress darling,” he mumbled, quiet enough that your brother couldn’t hear over the headphones he’d now put in. He nudged his foot against yours under the table a few times to gather your attention back on him, “you coming to that frat party tomorrow night? Think it’s at Jakes house.”
“I don’t know,” you knew about the party, and you knew Jay would be less than happy to see you there, especially at Jake’s. But he would never stop you from going, he would spend the whole time looking over you to make sure you weren’t doing anything stupid because he did care for you even when he was angry at you. “I’m not sure if it’s really my scene, plus I won’t know anyone there.”
“You’ll know me,” he shrugged as if it wasn’t a huge deal. “I’m pretty sure Jungwon is coming too, and Sunoo. You know both of them.”
“Oh yeah, Jungwon’s nice,” you commented, remembering a time you met him at a previous party. He was a little younger than you but he was sweet, you sat talking to him for ages last time you went to a frat party since your friends had bailed on you last minute. “Maybe I’ll come if he’s there.”
Heeseung rolled his eyes subtly, “so if he’s not there then you won’t come? Got a little crush?”
You huffed out a laugh, “no I don’t, he was just nice to talk to. No point going to a party if there’s no one there who I like.”
“I’ll be there,” he stressed, nudging your foot again with his until you looked up at him. His lips were tugged up into a smirk when you tried to avoid his gaze. “Is that not enough for you?”
“We’re not friends Heeseung,” you lifted your eyes to meet his properly. “Plus, don’t think Jay would like us hanging out, especially not at one of Jake’s parties.”
“You wound me darling,” he placed a hand over his heart in mock pain. “I thought we had something special here.”
You closed your book, tucking it into your bag after you saw the time. You had classes soon and would need to head over to your university if you wanted to get there in time. Catching Heeseung’s eyes again, you faltered a little under his intense gaze. You tried not to let him affect you, he was bad news. But fuck was he pretty.
“This is the first time we’ve had a proper conversation, there’s nothing special here,” you stood up from your chair, prompting your brother to look up at you briefly before returning to his work. “I’ve had more meaningful conversations with the Starbucks barista.”
“You leaving Y/N?” Jay asked, finally pulling one of his headphones out when he noticed you toss your bag over your shoulder.
“Yeah, got classes this afternoon and I’ve already wasted too much time,” your gaze flickered over to Heeseung subtly before returning to your brother. “See you later Jay.”
You left quickly before Heeseung could say anything to you, heading off to your first class of the day. You just hoped that would be the last you would see of him that day, but you knew that was wishful thinking. And deep down, you knew too that you would see him at Jake’s party. You missed Jungwon and maybe this time you could convince your best friend Sunghoon to come with you.
“Hope my sister wasn’t too irritating,” Jay mumbled, playing with one of his headphones as he stared at his best friend. He wasn’t stupid, he knew that Heeseung had a thing for you but he was seeing how far he could push him until he caved in and admitted it. The question you asked him he could’ve easily answered but he pushed it over to Heeseung to give him an excuse to talk to you. “Thanks for helping her out.”
“It’s no worries man,” Heeseung laughed softly. “She’s not that bad, just likes running her mouth a bit.”
“She gets that from me,” Jay laughed back. As much as he hated the idea of Heeseung going after his sister, he knew you could hold your own and would give him a hard time about it. Hence why he wasn’t worried, he would let you handle this in your own way, maybe you could knock Heeseung down a few pegs.
“I need to head off, got basketball practice this afternoon,” Heeseung stood up, grabbing his gym bag from the floor below him. Considering how much time he spent practicing, it was a miracle he was passing classes still. “I’ll see you at the party tomorrow? Don’t think I’ll have time to drop by tomorrow morning beforehand.”
“Yeah man, I’ll see you there,” Jay replied.
“Think Y/N might turn up,” Heeseung said nonchalantly. “You might want to keep an eye on her, I know that Jungwon kid likes her and he’ll be there.”
Jay laughed under his breath, his friend was so fucking obvious sometimes, “Jungwon’s a nice guy, he’d treat her well. I’ve got nothing to worry about, especially if she brings Sunghoon with her too.”
“Park Sunghoon?” Heeseung’s ears perked up at that, usually he would hate the guy best friend of any girl he was interested in, but Sunghoon was actually a decent guy. He had many classes with him and had hung out with him a few times between lessons, but he also knew that Sunghoon wasn’t a threat. You weren’t interested in him and he wasn’t interested in you, Heeseung wouldn’t have to fight him off at least.
Fuck, he was realising that maybe he actually liked you, beyond just sex. Is this what having a crush felt like? If so, Heeseung had never felt like this before, it made him nervous. He was used to just messing around with girls without getting feelings involved. He was used to breaking hearts and blocking peoples numbers, he wasn’t used to pining after someone who wouldn’t even hold one conversation with him. It was humbling.
“Yeah, the really pretty guy,” Jay replied. “He’ll look after her, you can relax man.”
“I’m relaxed,” Heeseung retaliated, rolling his eyes. He checked the time on his watch, swearing softly when he was he had fifteen minutes until practice started and he was at least twenty minutes away from the gym. So much for being the responsible team captain. “Fuck Jay, I need to go. See you later, yeah?”
“See you at the party Hee.”
----------
“No, you don’t understand Y/N,” Sunghoon stressed, throwing things out of your closet as he searched for an outfit. “Heeseung wants you to go, he specifically asked if you were going. Which in guy talk means he wants you to go because he wants to hit you up whilst you’re there.”
You rolled your eyes, head hanging off the end of your bed as you stared at Sunghoon upside down, “I don’t want him to hit me up, I’m not looking for a one night stand.”
“Yeah but it’s Lee Heeseung,” Sunghoon replied, grabbing a skirt from your closet that you hadn’t worn in years. “Everyone wants to get with him, imagine how desirable you’ll be once you have him on your roster.”
“Hoon, my roster consists of one random guy I forgot the name of that time I was drunk and Sim Jake, I don’t really care about that,” he threw the skirt at you, narrowly missing your face as it fell to the mattress beside you. “I’m not going to get with Heeseung, he’s a player and he’s literally best friends with my brother. I have to see his cocky face every single day, I don’t want to see it knowing I was riding it the night before.”
A shirt flew at your face this time, hitting you square in the nose as you peeled it off of you, sitting up and analysing the outfit Sunghoon had given you. He stood staring at you, a bored look on his face, “look Y/N, you need to loosen up and get laid, and I’m not taking one for the team even though you’re going to look fine as fuck in that outfit. Heeseung is obviously into you, he literally never takes his eyes off you and he hasn’t fucked anyone in the last few months. I’d say, just go for it, like who gives a fuck if it’s just a one night stand?”
You eyed the incredibly short skirt you’d been given with the tight black top, Sunghoon was good with styling but he sure loved to show off as much of your skin as possible.
“I give a fuck! God, I don’t know Hoonie, I’m only going to know you at the party. This night is going to be so awkward,” you looked up at him from your bed. He was already dressed in a pair of brown trousers and a simple shirt, he still looked amazing as he always did. Sunghoon smiled at you, as much as he nagged you, he still wanted you to be comfortable and have fun.
“Jungwon’s going to be there, I spoke to him earlier,” Sunghoon sat on the edge of the bed next to you, taking your hand in his and squeezing. “And Sunoo too, that sweet guy you met last time. He’s in a few of my classes, he’s really nice! Plus, I can introduce you to some of my other friends too, Euijoo and Nicholas will be there and they are both really nice guys.”
You played with his fingers, mulling it over in your head. You did tend to have a good time when you went to these parties, even if they were a bit wild. The only difference now is that you knew Heeseung would be waiting for you there and that was making you nervous.
“I’ll be with you the whole time if you want, or I can make sure there’s someone else with you at all times so that you don’t feel nervous,” Sunghoon broke your thoughts, knowing exactly what to say.
You weren’t scared of Heeseung, far from it in all honesty. You were just nervous, it was clear what he was insinuating earlier and you knew it was a bad idea as much as you wanted to do it. Heeseung was bad news and your brother would be less than impressed to hear that something had gone on between the two of you. Your goal for the evening would be to stay as far away from him as possible and not make a mistake you would regret.
“Fine,” you sighed, squeezing Sunghoon’s hand before letting go and grabbing the outfit. “Help me choose some shoes that will go with this fucking tiny skirt.”
Sunghoon cheered softly, ruffling your hair before going back to your closet to find some shoes as you changed into the clothes. The skirt was tight and very short, but it did wonders for your figure and the shirt he’d picked out hugged you in all the right places. You knew you could count on Sunghoon when it came to these things.
“Woah,” he came up behind you, holding your hips gently and checking you out in the full length mirror you were stood in front of. “You look so hot Y/N, you’re going to be fighting guys off left and right tonight.”
You blushed under his gaze, even though Sunghoon was your best friend it was still nice to get compliments from him. At the end of the day, he was still a guy and compliments from him meant that others would also be thinking the same thing.
Sunghoon moved back to lounge around on your bed, playing on his phone as you did your hair and a little bit of makeup. You threw a few items into a little bag and then you were ready to leave, turning to Sunghoon for his final thoughts.
“Fucking hell Y/N,” he stood up, scanning you up and down. “Heeseung is going to have a heart attack.”
You rolled your eyes, pushing his shoulder softly with a laugh, “I’m not trying to impress Heeseung, I just want to go and have fun tonight. Please make sure I don’t go home drunk with some random guy, especially not Jake again.”
“In my defence, when you left with Jake you weren’t drunk and you told me specifically not to stop you,” he held his hands up in mock surrender. “I told you that getting with a frat guy was a bad idea.”
“I figured that out when he wouldn’t stop blowing up my phone for three weeks afterwards,” you rolled your eyes. Your one night with Jake was great, but he seemed to think you were after more than that and had spent weeks afterwards asking you on dates and pursuing you. With him being one of your brothers friends as well as being on the basketball team with Heeseung, you tried to let him down as easy as possible. And by that, you ghosted him until he stopped texting and he moved on to someone else for the next few weeks.
“Ready to go now?” He asked, tucking his phone into his pocket, “Won’s already been there for like half an hour and Eujioo and Nicho are on their way there, so they’ll be there before we are. You ok with hanging out with them tonight too?”
You linked your arm through Sunghoon’s, making your way out of the house. Jay had already left a while back, probably going to Jake’s for pre drinks before the party even started. The two of you didn’t live with your parents so you didn’t have to worry about that, slamming the front door shut behind the two of you.
“Yeah, they sound nice enough,” you set off walking to Jake’s frat. It was only a couple of minutes away by foot but it was long enough for you to get cold on the journey. You started to hate Sunghoon for putting you in the skimpy outfit even if you did look good.
“Fuck me, I can smell the weed from here,” Sunghoon groaned as you rounded the corner to Jake’s. He was right, the stale smell of weed and cheap alcohol filled the air around you and a deep base of some house music was thumping into the night. The whole street was filled with frat houses so at least you knew you wouldn’t have to worry about noise complaints that night.
Sunghoon ushered you into the house, mumbling something about how his friends were in the kitchen getting drinks as he tugged you along behind him. You hoped you would be able to grab a drink and then hurry off to the garden somewhere, out of the potential sight of your brother. Jay didn’t really care if you came to the same parties as him, and vice versa if he ever showed up to one you were at. You just had one rule, and that was to not do anything too stupid that would get either of you in trouble.
“Guys,” Sunghoon exclaimed loudly as he entered the kitchen, you in tow behind him. There was significantly less people in there, just a handful grabbing drinks and talking to each other. “So good to see you all, this is my friend Y/N in case you haven’t already met her.”
He pulled you in front of him, hands on your shoulders as he introduced you to the three boys. You recognised Jungwon already, a knowing smile on his lips when he saw you. But the two other boys, Euijoo and Nicholas, were new to you. They seemed nice enough though, Nicholas offered to make you a drink which you gladly accepted from him, going to lean on the counter next to Jungwon as Sunghoon caught up with his friends. Sunoo was apparently already dancing somewhere, he was the life of any party.
“Long time no see,” Jungwon said, sipping from his own cup. “We’ve got to stop meeting like this Y/N.”
“I mean, if you’d given me your number last time then maybe we wouldn’t have to,” you pouted sarcastically, smiling when Jungwon rolled his eyes.
“Give me your phone then,” he said, holding his free hand out to you. You didn’t hesitate, letting him put his number into your phone contacts and texting himself so that he had your number too, “there, no excuse not to hang out with me like every day now.”
“Sounds good to me Won,” you took another sip of your drink, revelling in how the alcohol seemed to calm your nerves a little bit. You realised how much you did actually like parties, you could let loose and relax for a while without having to worry about the consequences until the next morning.
“So Y/N,” your attention was pulled away from Jungwon to look at Euijoo, the boy who had been the quietest the whole time. “Tell us, how did you meet Hoon? Do you have any embarrassing stories about him?”
“Oh, I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment,” you laughed, launching off into a story about how Sunghoon fell into a pool when you were in middle school and was panicking because he couldn’t swim, until he realised it was shallow enough to stand up in and he wasn’t actually going to drown.
The next few hours of the night went much the same, you’d all made you way out into the garden since the alcohol warmed you up enough to sit out there comfortably. The five of you had huddled around talking, eventually gaining a couple of others to your group. Sunoo joined after a while, greeting you and striking up a conversation with Jungwon quickly. There were a few others, friends of Nicholas, called Kei and Fuma who joined in your group, happily chatting with you all.
“So, you know Jake then?” Fuma asked, turning to you for the first time that night. He’d joined the group and easily started to chat with Sunghoon, but his attention was now on you and in the dim light he looked all the more attractive.
You shrugged, taking a sip from your now non-alcoholic drink, “we know of each other, but we’re not friends by any means. He’s closer with my brother.”
“Oh, who’s your brother?” He asked, turning his body more towards yours until your knees knocked together softly. He was so close now that you could smell his after shave, maybe you weren’t averse to going home with a stranger that evening.
“Park Jay, not sure if you know him but he’s usually at most of these parties,” you replied, hitting your knee against his a few times gently. “Hangs around with Lee Heeseung ninety nine percent of the time, they’re stuck together like glue.”
“Oh shit, yeah I know them, decent guys,” he said. One of his hands fell to your thigh, testing the waters. When you didn’t shrug him off, he took that as a sign and shifted a little closer to you on the bench you were sat on. “I play on the basketball team with Heeseung, I’ve only met Jay a handful of times at parties or at games.”
“You play basketball?” You asked, looking up at him with wide eyes, “that’s pretty hot.”
Fuma laughed, leaning back a little to face you fully. With one hand he pulled your legs over his thighs so that you were sat adjacent to him, draped across his lap as his hand splayed over the bare skin. His other arm rested on the back of the bench, fingertips dancing across your shoulders.
“Yeah? You think so?” The hand on your thigh moved a little higher, taking your smile as a sign that you were ok with whatever was happening. And you were, Fuma was attractive and you needed someone to take your mind away from Heeseung for the night, his confusing tactics the previous day making you rethink everything.
“Definitely,” you sat your empty cup down behind you, using your now free hand to rest on his bicep, curling your fingers around it. “Can tell how hard you work out too, it’s attractive.”
You knew how to flirt with men to get what you wanted, and Fuma seemed like he would be an easy catch for you tonight. On top of that though, he seemed nice, he seemed like the type of guy who would definitely text you the next morning. You’d told Sunghoon you weren’t in the mood for a one night stand, but you didn’t say you weren’t in the mood for a couple of dates with an attractive guy after a one night stand.
“If you’re trying to flatter me it’s working,” he said, tightening his grip on your thigh so that his muscles flexed under your fingers. You giggled softly, running your hand up to his shoulder then over the front of his neck slowly.
“Good,” you breathed out, moving yourself a little closer to him so that you could feel his breath on your lips. You had clocked that a couple of the others were taking glances at you, Sunghoon was silently cheering you on in the side lines, whilst Kei was impressed with his friend for bagging an attractive girl that quickly.
“Y/N,” Fuma mumbled, moving the hand on your thigh up to your hip to tug you impossibly closer to him. “Can I kiss you?”
No guy had ever really asked you that before, usually they would dive in without much thought into the situation, but Fuma seemed different. You nodded quickly before wrapping your arm around his neck and pulling him forwards until your lips connected, trying not to pay any mind to the fact that your friends were centimetres away.
Fuma tightened his grip on your hip, his other arm resting over your shoulders as he tugged on your bottom lip, opening your mouth to let his tongue in. He was a good kisser, giving as much as he took, and you were almost disappointed when he pulled away from you, leaving a soft peck on your lips as a parting gift.
You surged forward to kiss him again, quick little kisses against his lips and cheeks, before fully pulling back from him. Fuma laughed, a genuine smile on his face, and squeezed your hip softly before pulling you closer onto his lap so that you were almost sat completely on him.
The others didn’t say anything as you re-joined the conversation, occasionally chipping in with little anecdotes and laughing along to the comments Fuma made in your ear. But eventually you were getting thirsty, excusing yourself to go grab a drink from the kitchen quickly.
“Want me to join you?” Jungwon asked, not entirely comfortable with letting you go into the house alone when there were other drunk frat boys around.
“Sure,” you replied, standing up from Fuma’s lap. “Be back in a few.” You aimed your last comment at no one in particular, hurrying off with Jungwon into the house.
It was more crowded now, a lot of people had turned up since you had arrived and it was hard to make your way to the kitchen, your hands automatically grabbing onto Jungwon’s sleeve so you didn’t get separated.
He tugged you into the kitchen where there were less people, just a couple getting some drinks and, unluckily for you, Jake and Heeseung who were stood chatting away. Heeseung had a frown on his lips as he talked, one hand gripping a red solo cup and the other tucked into the pocket of his trousers. When his eyes caught your figure entering the room, his scowl only deepened. You tried to smile at him but it was useless, he was pissed off at you and you had no idea why.
Your grip on Jungwon’s arm tightened as he pulled you over to the counter, pouring some drinks for your friends as you made your own, downing it in a few sips before making another. You weren’t having anything alcoholic anymore, not wanting to get drunk and make more mistakes, but the way you could feel Heeseung’s eyes burning into the side of your head made you wish you were.
“Ready to go back?” Jungwon asked, a couple of beer cans tucked under his arm as he held his other out to you. You went to take it before you were being tugged harshly back, falling against a larger chest.
“No can do Won, sorry man,” Heeseung said, wrapping his hand around your waist. “Y/N’s brother isn’t happy with her being here anymore, so I’m going to have to take her home soon. Send her apologies to her date though, they can continue off what they started another time or whatever.”
At the mention of your brother, Jungwon nodded, sending you an apologetic smile and leaving the kitchen. That left you with Heeseung and Jake, the two people you didn’t really want to see that night.
“What the fuck Heeseung,” you turned around to face him, ripping yourself from his grip. “I know for a fact Jay doesn’t give a shit if I’m here, he’s probably already off at some random girls house. Why the fuck are you trying to ruin my night?”
Your little outburst only made him smile, his arms crossing over his chest, “I let you have your fun darling, but you took it a little too far out there when you started making out with one of my teammates. That’s a little disrespectful, don’t you think?”
Jake took that as his queue to leave, slipping off into the distance and leaving the two of you alone in the kitchen. For once, you were hoping he would’ve stayed so you had some escape from Heeseung.
“Why do you care? Did my brother put you up to this? If I remember correctly, you were the one who asked me to come to this party, so why are you trying to end my night so quickly?” You huffed out, crossing your own arms in retaliation.
Heeseung smirked, his lips tugging up at one side, “exactly. I invited you, yet you’re out there making out with some guy who you’ve only just met. Do you think that’s why I invited you here? Surely somewhere in that brain of yours you connected the dots and realised I invited you because I wanted to spend time with you at this party. Maybe if you realised that then it would’ve been my lap you were sitting on. But you had to go and fuck it up by getting off with Fuma.”
You mouth dropped open at his confession, “whatever joke you’re trying to pull is not funny Heeseung, and I’m not falling for it. If this is some weird prank you have going on with my brother then I don’t want to be part of it. I’m not some girl you can just fuck around with, I’m not trying to mess around with people like you.”
“People like me?” He questioned, stepping closer to you. In response you moved back, far enough so that your back was against the counter and Heeseung was now standing close enough to you that you could feel his body warmth radiating off him. “What sort of person am I Y/N? Tell me, I want to know.”
Placing your hands on his chest, you tried to push him away from you but it was no use. He caught your hands in his, tugging you forward until you were pressed against his chest.
“What sort of person am I Y/N? Tell me so I can prove you wrong,” Heeseung repeated, his lips just barely brushing your ear.
“You’re a player,” you replied harshly. “You’re never serious about anything, you just want to sleep around without strings attached. Everyone knows that Heeseung, and I’m not going to be another person you can just add to your list of hook ups. I have more self-respect than that.”
Heeseung sucked in a breath, letting it out with a soft laugh, “you wound me darling, is that really how low you think of me?”
“I’m just telling the truth Heeseung, everyone knows it,” you pulled your wrist from his grip so that you could move back a little until you were leaning against the counter again. “Even Jay says the same thing, you’ve never been serious about a girl in your life. So I don’t know what you’re trying to get at here, and this is the first time you’ve ever even acknowledged my existence as someone other than your best friends sister. So forgive me for not believing a single word that falls out of your mouth.”
“Let me prove it to you,” he said, still smiling that cocky smirk. “I wanted you at this party so that we could spend time together, even got Jay a girl so that he would leave early and I could come and find you. I’ve been trying to get your attention for months now but you never gave me the time of day, yesterday was the first time you’d even had a full conversation with me. I’m not the player you think I am Y/N, I’ve not been with a girl in almost a year now, haven’t even kissed anyone for months. I can even get Jake or Jay to attest to that.”
At the mention of Jake’s name you froze a little, remembering the night you’d spent together. It was after one of his parties the previous year, it was messy and a mistake, you’d regretted it ever since. Knowing what you did now, you regretted it even more.
“I know about you and Jake,” Heeseung mumbled, as if reading your thoughts. “He had no problem bragging about it to me and the others at practice, had to beat the shit out of him a few times before he got the hint to leave you alone.”
As he was talking, his hands made their way onto your hips, resting there gently. You didn’t realise at first, but the moment you did you were hyper aware of his touch on you. The scariest part was that you didn’t hate it. You blamed it on Sunghoon for putting those ideas in your head earlier, because now you were really starting to believe Heeseung liked you.
“You beat him up?” You asked, voice small, “why? It was consensual, it’s not like I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.”
“I know,” he sighed. “I know darling, I was mad at Jake though. He knew about how I felt from the start and he still went and slept with you, it fucked with my head because it felt like confirmation to me that I could never have you in the way that I wanted you.”
“What do you mean?” You let yourself be held closer by Heeseung, his hands wrapping around your waist. Something about the way he talked and the way he looked at you had you believing every word that left his lips, it had you understanding him.
“Isn’t it obvious enough? I like you a lot Y/N, I have for a while now but I knew it would be impossible to even try to start something with you if your brother was always looking over our shoulders, it’s why I invited you here in the hopes I could get you alone so that I could actually talk to you,” he sighed softly, squeezing your waist. “Seeing you with Fuma made me angry, not with you but with the situation. I wanted to be in his position, I wanted to be the guy you were fawning over and flirting with because it’s all I’ve thought about for months. I know this is unexpected, but give me a chance to prove I mean what I say.”
Your hands came up to rest on his chest, fiddling gently with the fabric of his shirt. He was only wearing a simple outfit but he looked incredible, as usual. And up close you could really appreciate how attractive he was, something you had always thought but had supressed for years due to your brother.
“How are you going to prove it?” You asked, stretching your hands up to rest on his shoulders. You didn’t know what had come over you, but you didn’t care about the consequences now, Heeseung looked too pretty in the dim lighting of the kitchen that you wanted whatever he was offering.
Heeseung smirked, a little cocky but still attractive, and he bent down a little until his nose was brushing against yours, “maybe if you let me kiss you, then you’ll be able to tell how I really feel.”
You could feel his lips brushing against yours from how close he was, his fingers tightening on your waist. Heeseung was letting you take control, he was waiting for you to make a move and kiss him so that he knew you wanted it. It was that little detail that made you trust him more.
Pushing up onto your toes, you pressed your own lips against his, moving your hands so that they wrapped around his neck to pull him down against you. Heeseung didn’t hesitate to reciprocate, hands tugging you closer still so that your entire body was pressed against his. His lips moved with yours, letting you set the pace until he heard you whine softly against his mouth.
“Fuck,” he groaned against you, licking your bottom lip to prompt your mouth open. You let him in, whining louder when his tongue rubbed against yours until he was hungrily kissing you as your lips went numb.
“Heeseung,” you whispered, pulling back a little only to be tugged forward again.
“Not done yet darling,” he replied, placing his lips back onto yours a little rougher than before. He kissed you like this was his only chance to, like he’d been waiting for years to be able to. If you really thought about it, maybe he had been waiting that long.
When he finally pulled away, letting you down a little so you were back on your feet, he pressed a quick kiss to your forehead. He kept you close, his arms still tight around you as if he was scared you would leave. Heeseung’s eyes were wide as he scanned your face, he looked nervous for the first time since you’d entered the kitchen.
“Do you understand now?” He mumbled, fidgeting a little under your gaze, “do you see how much I really do like you? Because I can promise you that it’s not some game I’m trying to play, I’ve been waiting for this moment for months.”
“Are you sure Heeseung? Like,” you took a deep breath, about to take the leap. “Do you really want this? Because if you do, then you’re the one who’s going to have to tell Jay about it.”
He laughed softly, a gentle smile on his lips, “I’d fight Jay any day if it meant I could have you at the end of this. And I know this is a complete surprise to you, but I’m serious about you. I don’t want to see you with anyone else, not Jake, not Jungwon, not Fuma. I want you to be with me, I want to treat you well, and if I have to spend the next few months proving that to you then I will. I’ve waited a long time darling, I can wait longer.”
Your hands played with the hair on the nape of his neck, leaning up to kiss him quickly to shut him up from his rambling. A soft blush spread across his cheeks, you were finally seeing the Heeseung that he was trying to talk to you about, not the Heeseung that everyone else saw.
“You don’t need to wait any more Hee,” your hands moved back down his chest until they reached his own, removing them from your waist to intertwine your fingers together. “I’m trusting you.”
“I won’t fuck it up,” he promised, squeezing your hands in his. “And this sounds incredibly bad, but do you want to come back to mine? I want to keep talking and spending time with you, but I really just want to be alone together for once.”
“It’s ok, I get it,” you laughed softly. “You live closer than I do anyway.”
Heeseung smiled at you properly, a genuinely happy smile on his lips as he nodded and made a move to exit the kitchen, pulling you along behind him. You tried to ignore the stares of everyone else, you caught eyes with Jake as you left and the knowing smirk on his lips made you feel sick. You wondered how people would think of you now, would they make up rumours? Would those rumours make their way back to your brother? What would Fuma think when he heard about them? It made tears well up in your eyes as you tried to stick close to Heeseung, burying your face against his shoulder to hide your emotions from the rest of the party.
Heeseung looked down at you, noticing your wide glossy eyes as he tried to clear a path through the hundreds of dancing bodies. He quickly tugged you closer, wrapping his arm around you and keeping you close to his chest so that you were looking at him rather than everyone else.
“Hey, it’s ok baby,” he mumbled into your ear, kissing your temple softly. “Ignore them, yeah? They don’t know shit about us, they’re not important. We’re almost out darling, just look at me, ok?”
His words did enough to calm you as you blinked away the tears, a little embarrassed for getting so worked up about it all. But it wasn’t until you were out in the cold air that you let yourself look up from his chest. You tried to step back a bit but Heeseung held you close to him, wrapping you up in a hug with one hand holding the back of your head close to him.
“You alright?” He asked softly, pulling back to kiss your forehead once again.
You nodded, “’m ok, sorry. I just kept seeing people looking at us and it made me feel sick to know what they were assuming. I can’t imagine the rumours they’re going to start about me.”
“Well, if people believe those rumours then they’re bigger idiots than I thought,” Heeseung said softly, brushing your hair away from your face. “I’ll shut them down as soon as they start darling, you don’t have to worry about a thing.”
Sighing, you nodded once again, “I just don’t want people to think of me any different. I’m sure Jake’s going to run his mouth soon enough, he was pissed when I didn’t agree to see him again after the first time. I just hope he doesn’t hold a grudge enough to go running to my brother.”
“Like I said Y/N, I’ll shut it down as soon as it happens. Won’t let anyone say a bad word about you,” he stepped away from you to take your hand instead so that you could start walking away from the party. “Plus, Jake could never handle you anyway. He was never going to get you.”
“Oh yeah?” You raised an eyebrow at Heeseung teasingly, “and you can?”
He swung your hands between the two of you as he walked the short distance to his flat, luckily Heeseung’s flat mate would likely be out when you two got there so you had the luxury of an empty place for the night.
“I think I’m the only person who could darling,” he laughed softly. “Think about it, is there anyone else you would’ve gone home with tonight? Anyone else who would treat you as good as I can?”
“You have a point, I don’t think I’d trust anyone else enough to even try,” you admitted, eyes focusing in on Heeseung’s apartment building that you were approaching. It was quiet now, most people had likely gone to bed or were out at other parties. “It’s weird how much I trust you already, even though I’ve know you for years I feel like I’ve only just really figured out the real you Hee.”
“And what’s the real me like?” He asked, using his free hand to punch in the code to the front door of his building, pushing the door open for you to go through towards the elevator.
“Hmm, the real Heeseung is sweet,” you said, tugging him into the open doors of the elevator. “And he is willing to face the wrath of my brother just to kiss me. The real Heeseung fought his friend Jake when he was being sleazy. And the real Heeseung proved to me that he was genuine just with a few words because I could see in his eyes how he really felt.”
The elevator opened at Heeseung’s floor, the two of you exiting quickly and standing in front of his apartment door. He pulled you back against him, crushing you in a hug as he buried his face in your hair.
“I hope you know that I mean every last thing that I said,” he kissed the crown of your head. “I’m not going to take it back in the morning, I’m being completely serious. I want everything with you, and if you’ll trust me then I will give it all to you no matter what obstacles we hit along the way.”
You looked up at him in the intense florescent light of the hallway, his dark hair a little messy from the cold outside air and his cheeks flushed. He looked pretty, so pretty that you wanted to kiss him and never stop. All the feelings you’d had for Heeseung over the years, the lingering glances and short conversations, were bubbling up to the surface all of a sudden. And now, after the emotional conversations you’d had and the turmoil your brain had been through, you knew what you wanted.
You wanted him. In every sense of the word.
“Why don’t we go inside?” You mumbled, chin resting on his chest as he held you, “then you can show me how much you mean it.”
You really hoped Heeseung would catch on to the hidden meaning behind your words, and from the way his eyes widened slightly, you knew he had. A cheeky grin spread across his lips again, the Heeseung you knew returning for a second through the soft and sweet version he had been for the last hour.
He unlocked his front door, pulling you into his apartment and kicking off his shoes. He didn’t even bother turning on the hallway light as he ushered you into his bedroom with him. You looked around quickly, it was so unexplainably Heeseung. There were various band posters on the walls and sports trophies adorning a shelf next to his bed, pictures of him with his teammates and family framed alongside them. You took it all in for a moment whilst he sat down on the edge of his bed, throwing his phone on the bedside table and looking at you, legs spread wide and lap looking inviting.
“Come here baby,” he said, pulling on you when you got close enough to him so that you were standing between his legs. He took your bag off your shoulder, placing it by the foot of his bed before returning his hands to your hips, pulling you close to him so that he could rest his head on your lower stomach.
Your hands fell to his hair, threading through the strands a few times as his eyes fluttered closed. You stood like that for a few seconds, Heeseung’s hands moving around behind you to circle your waist again.
“Are you sure about this darling?” His hands ran across your back a few times, fingers dipping underneath the hem of your shirt briefly, “we don’t have to do anything, we can just talk if that’s what you want. I didn’t bring you back here expecting anything from you.”
“I know you didn’t,” you tugged his hair gently so that he looked up at you. “But I want it, wouldn’t be here with you if I didn’t. I want you Hee.”
The last sentence hung in the air for a second, Heeseung taking in a deep breath at your words before sitting back a little, letting go of you and spreading his legs further.
“Come sit on my lap baby,” he said, patting the empty space that was the perfect size for you. “Want to feel you and kiss you a bit more.”
You obliged so quickly that it was embarrassing, straddling his lap and using his shoulders to steady yourself, settling down so that you were directly over his crotch. He groaned softly when you put your weight on him, a soft moan falling through his lips as he quickly leant forward to kiss you. His hands fell to your bare thighs, gripping the skin tight as he pushed his tongue into your mouth sloppily for the second time that night.
Heeseung moved his hands up to your hips, slowly urging you to grind yourself against his clothed crotch gently as you kissed. You tried to quieten your whines as you felt his cock brushing against you, only then realising how big Heeseung was, the outline alone surpassing Jake’s and that other guy you’d forgotten the name of. You’d have to mention that to him later, he’d have fun bragging about it to Jake at practice.
“Fuck Y/N,” he gripped your hips harder as you grinded over him. “Can’t wait have you around me darling, can already tell you’re going to feel so good.”
“Hee,” you whined, blushing at his words and shifting impatiently on his lap. His lips fell to your neck, brushing softly over the skin there before placing some teasing kisses. His hands moved down to your thighs again, fingertips dipping under the hem of your skirt. You gasped, willing his hands to move higher yet.
“You’ve got to tell me what you want baby, tonight’s all about you,” he said against your neck before biting down softly. His hands kneaded your thighs as his lips worked a red hickey onto the skin by your throat. Hiding that from your brother would be impossible.
“Just want you,” you replied, using your hands to tug his head up to kiss you again. “You can do whatever you want.”
Heeseung laughed against your lips, “not how it works, you’ve got to tell me what you want so I can give it to you, yeah?”
He pulled back to look at you, hands pushing up further under your skirt until they were resting on your upper thighs. His fingers found the hem of your underwear, snapping the elastic on your skin and you gasped softly, eyes glancing down to his arms. The sight of his hands under your skirt was enough to have you soaking through the fabric of your panties and onto Heeseung’s trousers.
“Come on darling, use your pretty mouth,” his thumbs rubbed over the skin on your legs, sending your mind into a spin just from that touch.
“Want your fingers Hee,” you admitted, a red flush on your cheeks. No one had ever asked you what you wanted before, you had no idea how to verbalise how badly you wanted him.
“Yeah baby?” He teased, lips tugging up into his signature smirk, “where? Because I’m already touching you, you need to be more specific for me.”
“Heeseung,” you whined, rolling your eyes. “Don’t make me say it.”
He laughed, “just teasing baby. Want my fingers yeah? Want me to stuff your pretty cunt full of them and stretch you out a bit? Is that what you want?”
He pushed your skirt up higher until it was pooling around your waist, exposing your cute little white panties that were already soaked through with your arousal. Heeseung swore under his breath, running his thumb over your pussy through the fabric. The small jolts of pleasure you felt had you squirming in his lap, brushing over his already painfully hard cock each time.
“Please Seung,” your voice prompted him to rip his eyes away and look at you. “Do something, please.”
“You beg so pretty darling,” his voice was strained as he talked. He was trying so hard to restrain himself, but everything you did was driving him crazy. “Stand up for me, yeah? Let’s get you out of these.”
He helped move you off his lap, his smirk reappearing when he saw the patch of arousal you left staining his trousers. He tugged on your crumpled up skirt, sliding it down your legs before helping you out of the rest of your clothes. For once, you didn’t feel nervous in front of him even though you were completely exposed.
“Fuck,” Heeseung mumbled, tugging you down onto the bed so that your head rested on his pillows. “Have I ever told you how pretty you are? It’s actually insane.”
His hands ran down your sides, kneeling between your legs. He moved back briefly to take his own shirt off, tossing it somewhere in his room before falling back down over you. Your hands went around his neck automatically, bringing his lips back to yours a few times.
You ran your own hands down his body, feeling over his toned chest that had been sculpted by his years of basketball practice. You stopped on his lower stomach, fingers tugging on his belt until he took the hint and kicked his trousers off, never once breaking the kiss.
His fingers made their way back down until he grazed over your cunt, his touch barely there but still sending another jolt of arousal through your body. Heeseung noted that, pulling back to look at you, your own eyes wide.
“Relax for me, let me make you feel good baby,” he mumbled, dipping his head down to kiss over your neck and collarbones, biting over the mark he’d left before. His hand moved back down, his pointer finger circling your clit slowly as you tried your best to hold in any noises.
“Please Seungie,” he stilled at that nickname, arousal shooting straight to his cock. “I need your fingers so badly, don’t want to wait any longer.”
“Fuck, ok darling,” he pushed a finger into you slowly, testing the waters. “Look at that, you’re so fucking wet already. Think you could take more?”
Your hands gripped his shoulders, nodding against him, “please Seung, want to be full. Want to cum on your fingers for you.”
“God you’re always so polite, so good for me,” he kissed you again, biting your bottom lip gently as he pushed a second finger alongside his first. “Your little cunt is so tight baby, don’t know how you’re going to take my cock.”
His pace quickened, fingers pushing into you over and over until he had you clawing at his back and coming over his hand in only a few minutes. You tried not to think about the fact that Heeseung was well practiced, he had a roster longer than anyone else, and he did a good job at keeping your mind off it as he kissed you harshly once you came back down from your orgasm.
“Good girl, did so good,” he slowly took his fingers out of your cunt, bringing them up to his lips and sucking them clean. Your eyes widened, a red flush on your cheeks again at the lewd sight.
“Heeseung!” You pushed his shoulder but he didn’t budge, his large frame still hovering over you, “you’re insane.”
“Mhm,” he mumbled, kissing your lips once again. “Insanely obsessed with you, yeah.”
“Shut up,” you rolled your eyes but you couldn’t help the smile on your face.
He kissed you messily, tangling one hand into your hair to tug you closer to him whilst the other propped his body above yours. You could feel his crotch press down onto your thigh, still clad in his boxers but his cock was achingly hard against you. You could feel him grind against you slowly as you kissed, trying to ease the tension he felt.
“Seungie,” you mumbled into his mouth.
“Yeah baby?” He pulled back to look at you, loosening his grip on your hair and smoothing it down a little. The heavy weight of his cock against you was driving you crazy, you never thought you’d want a man as much as you did.
“Please fuck me, waited long enough,” you bucked your hips up against him, a groan ripping from his throat at the contact.
“Alright angel, calm down. I’ll look after you, ok?” The new pet name made more arousal pool in your cunt, Heeseung’s soothing and slightly mocking tone only served to turn you on even more.
He leant up a little to push his boxers down, kicking them off somewhere else. You tried not to look down but you did anyway, your eyes widening at the sight. He was definitely bigger than the other guys you’d been with.
Before you had time to worry, his lips were back on yours, melting any concerns between your lips. He cupped your cheek with one hand, the other sliding down to your thigh and pulling them apart gently to slot himself between them. He pulled back, peppering kisses over your face over and over until the wide eyed look disappeared.
“You ready darling?” You felt him rub the tip of his cock up your cunt, each movement making you want him more. He pushed in gently, the tip pushing past your folds before moving back just to tease you.
“God,” your hands once again clawed at his shoulders. “Need you Seungie, please fuck me.”
“Tsk, need to sort out that dirty mouth of yours, right baby?” He smirked but pushed himself into you regardless, his cock breaching past your hole slowly, “but you’ve been so good to me, going to fuck you so good angel. You’ll forget about all the others, only think about me from now on, yeah?”
He pushed himself into your fully, gripping your hip tight as he tried to hold himself back from fucking into your harshly.
“God baby, your little cunt is so tight around my cock,” he gave an experimental thrust forward as tiny moans tumbled past your lips at the drag of his cock along your walls. “Does it feel good? Tell me how you feel darling.”
“So good Seung, you feel so good,” you moved to kiss him but could only reach his chest, placing hot kisses along the exposed skin. “Feel so fucking full, love it so much.”
“Bet you do angel, no one else can make you feel like this,” he groaned, pistoling his hips into you quicker and cursing the moment he saw his cock bulge in your stomach. “Fuck, you’re making me feel so good Y/N.”
You tugged him down to kiss you finally, messily shoving your tongue into his mouth as he increased his pace into your pussy. He sucked your tongue into his mouth, spit spilling from your lips and down your chin at the action but you didn’t care. Everything Heeseung did was hot to you.
“Hee,” you mumbled, feeling your second orgasm creep up on you. “Hee, please. Want to ride you.”
“Oh fuck,” his head fell to your shoulder at your words, staving off his own orgasm. “Yeah, fuck, go for it angel. Going to cum on my cock for me? Use me to get yourself off.”
He held you close as he turned the two of you over, him lying on his back as you straddled his lap once again that evening. This position had his cock pressing deeper into you, the bulge in your stomach getting bigger. His hands were on your hips, yours resting on his chest as you rolled your hips experimentally.
“Oh my god,” he groaned as you clenched down on him. “Baby I’m not going to last long like this, need you to cum first for me. Can you do that?”
You nodded, bending down to kiss him once again as you increased the pace of your hips. His cock was hitting all the spots inside of you, bringing your orgasm back to the edge as he helped guide your hips over him.
“Fuck Seung,” you whined, hands clawing into his chest. “Want to cum, please? Can I?”
“God,” he screwed his eyes shut at your pleading tone. “Such a good girl, always asking permission. Cum for me darling, want to feel you little pussy cum around my cock.”
That’s all you needed, your orgasm hitting you as you slumped against his chest a little. He held you gently, helping you ride him through your orgasm until you were finished. But you didn’t stop your hips from moving, you wanted him to cum too, you wouldn’t be happy until he had.
“Baby, you need to stop before I cum inside,” he groaned, pressing a kiss to the side of your head, his hands were doing a bad job of stopping you from moving though.
“Want it Hee, please,” you sped up your hips and leant up a little, steadying yourself on his chest. “Cum for me, I want it so bad.”
“Fucking hell,” he clenched his jaw tight, gripping your hips tight and bucking up into you, taking control once again. “Going to fill you up angel, going to breed your tight little cunt so everyone knows your mine. Fuck Y/N, ‘m coming baby.”
His fingers dug little bruises into your skin as he slammed you back down onto him, his cum flooding inside you as he held you close. His hips grinded into you slowly as he wrapped his arms around you and held you against him, pressing kisses to your hair and forehead as he came down from his high.
He was quiet for a moment, catching his breath as you kissed his neck softly, trying your best not to move too much on his lap as you were both sensitive. His hands rubbed up and down your back and into your hair, smoothing it down gently.
“You ok darling?” He asked quietly, moving some of your hair out of the way so he could see your face, makeup smeared around your eyes and lips swollen red.
“Mhm,” you mumbled, body tired. “You were so good Seungie, you made me feel so good. Was it ok for you?”
“Baby,” he cupped your cheeks so you would look up at him, squishing your cheeks a little until they pouted out. “Best I’ve ever had, I can promise you that.” You blushed, hiding your face back into his chest as he laughed softly, “let’s get in the shower, yeah? Then I’ll get us some food and drinks. How does that sound?”
You looked back up, a small smile on your lips, before you leant in to kiss him quickly, “sounds perfect Seungie.”
----------
You tried to sneak into your house the next morning, clad in your skirt from the previous night and one of Heeseung’s t shirts. You thought you’d managed to make it in safely, not hearing your brother until you opened your bedroom door.
“Your footsteps are so fucking loud,” Jay complained, rubbing his eyes as he leant against his doorframe. He looked across the hall at you, bursting into laughter when he recognised the familiar fabric of his best friends shirt.
“Don’t say anything,” you warned, narrowing your eyes at him. You weren’t looking to have that conversation when the two of you were sleep deprived and a little hung over.
Jay raised his hands up in surrender, “I wasn’t going to, Hee already texted me this morning to tell me that he’d finally made a move. I approve by the way, if you were worrying about it. I’d rather it was Heeseung than Jake.”
“How do you know about Jake?” You asked quietly, wondering what rumours had gone around already.
“Wait, you had something going on with Jake?” He exclaimed, “actually, don’t even tell me. I don’t want to know. I was just coming out here to tell you that I approve, just keep the pda lowkey, alright?”
“Understood Jay,” you said, shuffling back towards you bedroom. “Thanks for the blessing!”
You slammed your door shut behind you, breathing out a sigh of relief once your brother was no longer in your sight. You were glad Jay approved, but you didn’t want to have that awkward conversation with him when you were literally wearing his best friends shirt.
Throwing your bag on your bed, you picked up your phone to reply to some texts, seeing a recent one from Heeseung. He’d offered to walk you home that morning but you denied, needing the time to collect yourself and leaving him with a lingering kiss.
Seung: Hey angel, did you get home alright?
YN: I just did! Jay caught me though :( Can’t believe you told him already!
Seung: What can I say? I was excited.
Seung: Can’t wait to show you off.
Seung: Speaking of, you don’t have classes for a few more hours do you?
Y/N: No, not until 4pm. Why?
Seung: Come watch my basketball practice today, I’ve got a gift for you too :)
Y/N: Oh? What is it?
Seung: You’ll have to come along to find out, we start in an hour so just come along to the gym then. There’s a little seating area you can go to that looks over the indoor court!
Y/N: Hmm, ok, I’ll see you there.
Seung: Can’t wait darling :)
You couldn’t deny the excitement bubbling in your stomach as you started getting yourself ready, you took a long shower and changed into jeans and a long sleeved shirt. It was a little colder now but not enough for a jumper yet, you would be fine like that.
Your forewent makeup since you would just be heading to class afterwards, packing your laptop and any other work you needed before heading off. It was a little earlier than you had intended, so on the way to the gym you stopped by a café, picking up coffee’s for you and Heeseung. You opted to get an iced one for Heeseung, you didn’t think he’d want a hot coffee whilst he was playing basketball.
Sipping on your own drink, you made your way into the gym and to the seating area where you could watch the boys practice. It was sectioned off a little by a low chain that you could easily step over. You spotted Heeseung on the other side of the court, chatting along with someone and sipping from a water bottle. He looked so good in his sports clothes, a tight compression shirt and loose basketball shorts, that you hardly noticed who he was talking to. Upon seeing the other persons face, you caught their gaze and quickly looked away. How did you forget Fuma was also in the team? You didn’t want to imagine what him and Heeseung were talking about.
On the other hand, Heeseung was happily talking to his teammate about you, finally having cleared the air after the previous night.
“Honestly man, don’t even worry about it,” Fuma said with a smile. “I shouldn’t have made a move since I already knew you had a thing for her. That’s on me.”
“I mean, I don’t blame you,” Heeseung sighed dreamily, he was lovesick already. Fuma couldn’t help but laugh. “She’s really amazing.”
“Yeah, yeah, we get it man,” he laughed, eyes flickering over to you in the seating area. “Looks like you’ve got a visitor.”
Heeseung spun around, looking over to where you had already settled yourself down with your coffee, your backpack slung over the other chair. He dropped his bottle into his bag and picked it up, jogging over to you with a huge smile on his face.
“Hey baby,” he breathed out, holding his hands out when he got near enough to tug you out of your chair and into his arms across the chain fence separating the two of you. “Missed you.”
“It’s been less than two hours Hee,” you giggled, melting against his chest.
“Two hours too long,” he kissed the top of your head before pulling back, holding you at arm’s length. He kissed your lips gently, having to bend his head down a little to reach you.
“What were you talking to Fuma about?” You asked, letting your curiosity get the better of you, leaning back in his arms.
“We just cleared the air, there’s no bad blood there darling. He’s fine with it, probably a little mad that it’s not him that’s holding you right now though,” he replied, kissing your lips again until a smile appeared on them.
“Oh,” you mumbled, moving out of his embrace. “I got you an iced coffee, I don’t know if you want it now or after practice or if you even like iced coffee. But I got it anyway.”
He smiled wider yet, his heart growing with each word, “thank you angel, I love iced coffee. I’ll come over and sit with you at half time to drink it.” He dropped his bag on the floor, rooting around in it before pulling out his jersey, ‘LEE 99’ written across the back of it, “here, I want you to wear this whenever you come watch me at practice or at games.”
He helped slip it over your head, smiling softly when he saw how it engulfed your frame, the short sleeves coming down to your elbows and the hem brushing your thighs.
“I feel like a groupie,” you mumbled, a blush coating your cheeks. You tried to play it off but you were warm on the inside, it felt like confirmation from Heeseung that you were his. He was showing you off like he said he wanted to, he was showing everyone that you were there for him regardless of what they thought of you.
“Hm, it would be silly of me not to let everyone know who my girlfriend is though,” he said. “What better way to do it than by giving you my jersey to wear to all our games.”
“Girlfriend?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at him, “when was that established?”
“Right now, what? Are you going to say no?”
“Well, no but,” you couldn’t come up with an excuse. You liked his sureness though, the way he knew you would agree without even needing to ask. He had you wrapped around his finger as much as he was wrapped around yours.
“Exactly baby, so you’ll wear the jersey and let everyone see how pretty my girl is, yeah?” He took you back into his arms, hands holding your hips softly.
“Lee Heeseung! Practice started five minutes ago, get your ass over here now before I revoke your captain position!” Heeseung’s coach shouted from the other side of the court, blowing his whistle as the rest of the team started going warmups.
“I’ve got to go darling, I’ll come back over at half time, ok?” He kissed you quickly, “you look really pretty today by the way!” He shouted as he ran off, a goofy smile on his lips.
You couldn’t help your smile that mirrored his, picking his bag up and dropping it on the chair with yours to keep safe. You settled into your chair, quickly checking your unanswered messages from Sunghoon who wanted to know all the gossip from last night. Somehow rumours of you leaving with Heeseung had spread like wildfire, you weren’t surprised.
“So you and Y/N?” Jake said as him and Heeseung passed the ball to each other over and over, “can’t believe you managed to get her to settle down when she was all over Fuma last night too.”
“You better watch your mouth Sim,” he passed the ball a little harder, hitting Jake’s chest. “You know I’ve liked her for a while. Don’t be mad because she didn’t want you. And Fuma knew I liked her too, he was just testing his luck and he fell flat as well.”
“So you two are, like, dating?” He asked, laughing softly at the absurdity. Heeseung hadn’t had a girlfriend for years, he couldn’t imagine either of you settling down.
“Yes actually, so I’d appreciate if you kept my girlfriends name out of your mouth,” he threw the ball one more time before walking back a little, he was done warming up with Jake.
“Hey man, no hard feelings here,” Jake held up his hands in surrender. “I’m not looking to get beaten up again.”
“Good, I won’t hesitate this time,” Heeseung sighed, glancing back over to you to see you looking at him now. A smile made its way onto his face almost immediately, winking at you before turning back to his team.
You watched Heeseung whilst he played, cheering each time he scored a basket and enjoying the match. There were a few others watching in the waiting area, you assumed they were partners of the other boys as they also cheered for different members when they scored. It reached half time and soon Heeseung was jogging over to you, that wide goofy smile never once leaving his lips.
He stepped over the chain to stand in front of you, “can you pass me the towel in my bag baby?”
You rooted around, taking it out and standing up in front of him. You used the towel to dab the sweat off his neck and forehead, the smile on his face only widening at the gesture. He didn’t even need to ask you before you were already taking care of him. His hands found your waist holding you against him as you slung the towel around his neck.
“You looked really good out there,” you said, brushing your fingers through his hair briefly. “Can’t wait to watch you at your games, I’ll be front row.”
“You know, you have to kiss me for every point I score,” Heeseung said, squeezing your waist a little with his signature smirk.
“Oh yeah? How many points did you score today then?” You kissed his cheek softly, his cologne still strong even after the intense workout he’d just had.
“Exactly seven,” he stated proudly, puckering his lips. “So that’s seven kisses, yeah? Come on baby, I deserve it.”
You rolled your eyes, kissing his lips once, “only seven, then you need to rest a bit before you continue playing.”
Heeseung kissed you again, taking his second kiss and hummed against your mouth, “hm, I’d rather do something else than rest right now. Seeing you in that jersey is doing something to me darling, you’ll wear that for me one night right?”
You laughed against him, a genuine laugh, “if you score another seven baskets then I’ll wear it for you tonight.”

“SORRY, EXCUSE ME! COMING THROUGH!”
You stumbled across the ice rink like a newborn fawn, following no clear path, relying solely on your waving arms to keep you upright. Skaters passing by gave you a wide berth as you sped forward. Children watched as you flew by.
You should have expected that you’d eventually ram straight into someone. You just weren’t expecting it to be him of all people.
“Ow...” you winced as you lifted your back off the ice. When you spotted a boy across from you, you gasped and immediately got up (or, at least, as fast as you could with your level of skill, anyway). “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”
The boy barely looked affected, as if he was used to the sensation of falling. “I’m fine,” he responded quietly, before standing. It was like he didn’t just have a fully-grown teenaged girl slam into him.
It was that moment you got a good look at his face.
Park Sunghoon, the so-called ‘Ice Prince’ of Hybe High.
He had a… reputation, one could say. With a face that seemed carved from marble and an aura that left one guessing, it was no wonder why he had so many girls pining after him. Paired with his status as an accomplished athlete—a figure skater at that—it didn’t take a genius to know how he had earned his title.
Except, things weren’t usual all that simple, were they?
Park Sunghoon was an ‘Ice Prince’ in every definition of the word: not only did he reign supreme on the rink, he also had a knack for driving people away with his cold stare and even colder tone of voice. (Or so, the rumours went.)
It was just your luck, you supposed, that you had to bump into him.
He won’t be mad, would he? You fretted.
But to your surprise, he was just the opposite.
Instead of telling you to “Get lost” (okay, you had to admit you only had your mangas to blame for this expectation) or to “Watch where you’re going” (again— the mangas), he actually held out a hand to you.
“Are you okay?”
In that moment, you were glad you were on the ground, because there was no way you like stay upright if Park Sunghoon looked at you the way he was now while standing.
You were already hyper aware of his physical attractiveness after seeing him from school. But those minor glimpses you’d get of him during class (when he wasn’t absent for figure skating training) or from across the hall did no justice to his face up close.
As he looked down at you, eyes full of concern, and a ray of light shining down on him, you couldn’t tell if he was real or—as cliche as it sounded—an Angel from above.
Oh, have mercy on my soul, you thought. You hesitantly reached out to accept his outstretched hand— and, wow, how was it that his hands were just as beautiful as his face?
As he gently lifted you from the floor—no, really, he had basically pulled you up with his strength alone—you felt your cheeks heat up, despite the cold of your surroundings.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his tone of voice nothing like what you’d heard from your gossiping classmates.
“Yeah, I’m okay!” you squeaked.
In your embarrassment, you quickly tried to pull your hand away from his. But just as you did, you faltered and almost planted on your butt… again. Out of reflex, you immediately reached out to the closest thing to you.
And of course, at that moment, the closest thing happened to be one Park Sunghoon.
You didn’t know what was more surprising: that he actually let you hold on to him, or the fact that he put an arm around your waist to stabilise you. Just like that, the two of you remained staring at each other. The world around you was full of movement and chaos, but in that moment everything came to a stand still.
You felt heat bloom in your cheeks.
That’s it, you thought. I’m dead. He’s killed me.
Sunghoon’s ears started to redden at the tips as you continued to stare at each other. After a moment, he awkwardly removed his arm—though not too fast that you would topple down—and scratched the back of his neck.
“Ah…” Sunghoon chuckled shyly. “Sorry about that.”
He offered you a smile.
His resting face was a sight in itself. But the sight of his smile, the small dimple that it revealed, and small fangs that peeled out from his mouth, had your heart spiralling out of control. If your classmates saw him now, there was no way they could call him cold. (And no way they would be able to resist him.)
“I should be the one apologising…” you giggled. “Or rather, I should be thanking you, I guess— you saved me from potentially embarrassing myself more than I already have. I guess skating isn’t really my thing.”
Before Sunghoon could say anything you smiled at him. “But you’re really good. I’ve seen you quite a few times.”
It was about a month ago: your younger sibling decided that they wanted to take up ice hockey, and joined the local club. Since your parents were busy during some of their practices, you ended up chaperoning them. Simple enough, but boring.
Until you witnessed something magical.
You happened to look over to the side, just in time to catch a skater launch into the air. You watched in awe as the skater spun mid-air, before landing elegantly in the ice below— leg extended backwards, gliding like a swan across a lake.
You were definitely oversharing at this point, but you had already shared an awkward moment together. What was another on top of it?
You were half expecting Sunghoon to seem weirded out by your confession. But in fact, he didn’t seem surprised at all.
“I know,” he replied.
You blinked at him. “Sorry?”
As it turned out, you weren’t as slick as you thought.
Apparently, Sunghoon had known for a while no that you were an avid fan of his, and knew who you were as a result. But you couldn’t really find it in you to complain, seeing as it brought you closer to the boy. Who would have known that you would end up drinking hot chocolate with the Ice Prince Park Sunghoon as if you were best buddies.
“You know, it’s kind of funny how this is our first time talking despite knowing each other for so long.”
You had been attending the same school together for a year, and had quite a few classes together. But you’d never even uttered a hello to each other before. Now, here you were.
Sunghoon chuckled shyly. You decided right then and there that you would never grow tired of seeing his smile—the dimples, fangs, and all.
“I’m not a very social person,” he admitted, looking down at his lap. His ears were flushed red, his fingers tapping against the styrofoam cup that held his hot chocolate. “I’ve never been good at making friends… especially with girls.”
To say you were surprised at the confession was an understatement. There was no way you’d imagine that Park Sunghoon of all people—who people would say was as cold as the ice he skated on—was just… well, shy!
“Wow, really? That’s a surprise…” you took a sip from your hot chocolate.
Sunghoon hummed. “It probably would be to someone like you… You’re so social and you get along with everyone. You have so many friends…”
You raised your eyebrows. Were you dreaming or did Sunghoon say that with a twinge of envy? Him? Envy you? That was a completely foreign thought. (There was also the fact that he somehow observed you enough to know you were a social butterfly who got along with everyone— but that didn’t bother dwelling on that fact for too long.)
“Well, you’re not bad at making friends either,” you assured the boy, patting his shoulder. “I mean you managed to talk to me, right?”
Sunghoon blinked. “I guess you’re right...” He turned to you with a shy smile. “But you’re pretty easy to talk to, so that’s probably why.”
“So, you’re saying I don’t count, huh?” You asked teasingly.
Sunghoon shook his head. “No! That’s not what I meant…”
You laughed. “Don’t worry, I know what you mean.” You took another sip of your hot chocolate before looking at him. “In that case, why don’t we just make it official?”
Sunghoon cocked his head in confusion. “What do you mean?”
You smiled.
“Let’s be friends.”

ONE DAY, IN A STRETCH OF BOREDOM, YOU QUICKLY PULL OUT YOUR PHONE TO SEARCH FOR SUNGHOON’S CONTACT.
Perhaps you were coming off a little strong, considering you two have only been friends with each other a week by now. But you really couldn’t help yourself. Something about him was so endearing to you. Especially when he made that confession the
You flopped onto your bed and opened up your messages.
You: hey!!! how are you going?? hope you’re doing okay!
You: but anyway! just wanted to see if you wanted to meet up before school tomorrow? 👀
You tilted your head. Does this seem too clingy?
You quickly added another text to the first one.
You: i thought it would be nice since we have class together
You bit your lip as you watched the screen, waiting for the typing bubbles to appear. When the ‘read’ notification popped up, you felt your heart quicken. But seconds turned into minutes and he still hadn’t said anything back.
You pouted. Did I use too many exclamation marks?
Dropped your phone, you turned to lie on your side. You just hoped you hadn’t come off as too familiar— after all, the last thing you wanted to do was hold the poor guy victim. You wondered if he thought you were strange…
But just as you were debating whether to send another text (‘Or not! It’s cool if you don’t want to!’), your phone pinged. You instantly sat up.
Ice Prince: no problem
Ice Prince: sounds good
You stared. You blinked. Then you burst out laughing.
He’s a bit of a dry texter, isn’t he? You thought. Now that, I saw coming.
If he were one of your long-time friends, you would have spammed him with random questions. (As the extrovert of your group, you usually found yourself carrying the conversations.) But, seeing as you’ve only really known him for a few days, you decided to have mercy on him.
Until you would eventually fill his world with chaos.
You: yay!! see you then!! ☺️
You: oh and goodnight by the way!
You smiled when you saw his reply.
Ice Prince: See you
Ice Prince: Goodnight
You giggled to yourself as you closed your messages with Sunghoon and began to text your other friends. At that moment, you had another goal to add on to your list of things to do.
Mark my words, Park Sunghoon! you thought to yourself resolutely. One day, I will get you to use an emoji!
You greeted the next morning like a new friend.
You had nothing but good dreams the night before. And now, you were properly rested for a day of school—and, of course, hanging out with your new friend Sunghoon! If your parents noticed anything about your chipper mood, they didn’t say anything. But regardless of their odd looks, you didn’t care.
Nothing was going to bring you down from cloud nine.
You hummed as you grabbed your phone off the bench, bidding your family goodbye as you rushed out the door. Just then, you got a notification.
Ice Prince: I’ll be at the benches behind X block
You smiled as you flicked back a text.
You: okey!! I’m on my way to school now! so see you soon! ☺️
With that you skipped away. You couldn’t think of any other day where you had been so excited to go to school—if there ever was one, to begin with. You found yourself enjoying every little thing around, not taking it for granted: the buzz of the morning rush, the feeling of sunlight on your skin, the sight of freshly fallen flowers lining your path.
Today was such a good day. And it only got better when you caught a glimpse of a certain someone from a far.
How does he look so good just sitting there? you wondered.
You observed the way the sunlight managed to reflect off of him at just the right angles to illuminate his features and the wind gently brushed through his locks in a way you suddenly wanted to try for yourself. It seemed some people were just born to be loved by nature. And Park Sunghoon was one of them.
When you finally managed to shake yourself from your reverie, you bounced up to the boy, who didn’t seem to feel your eyes on him. (You supposed he was used to the sensation.)
Feeling mischievous you decided to approach him from behind. Taking quiet steps, you felt yourself smile as you got closer. Then, before he had the chance to realise your presence, you put your hands on his shoulders.
“Boo!”
Sunghoon jolted in his seat. He whipped around to face you, confusion over his features. Then—at the expense of your heart—his lips slowly curled into a smile.
“You’re here?” he said. “You could have just yelled out to me, you know?”
You giggled. “That’s not as fun!” Without waiting for an invitation, you plopped yourself down next to him. “So! What are we doing?” You tilted your head up to the sky to mimic the position he was sitting in before you disturbed him. “Are we cloud-gazing?”
“Huh?” Sunghoon blinked. He shook his head. “No. I was just thinking.”
You blinked back at him. The two of you blinked at each other, before you found yourself bursting into laughter. “Pfft—”
“You were ‘just thinking’?” you repeated with a smile.
Sunghoon nodded, causing you to laugh even more. “Why?” he asked, confused as to what it was he said that you found so funny. “What is it?”
“I mean, it’s just… who does this—” (You posed melodramatically, like a character on a movie poster.) “—when they’re just thinking?”
“Ishhhh…” Sunghoon scrunched his nose, before standing up. His hands were balled into cute fists as he looked down at you. “Yah! How can you tease me like this? Huh?”
But his little ‘reprimand’ did nothing but make you giggle even more. For someone who was known as an ‘Ice Prince’, he had a lot of adorable habits.
“Okay, okay.” You patted him on the arm, trying your best to ignore how muscular they felt under your hand. “I know, so calm down now, yeah?”
Sunghoon sat down beside you, and the two of you enjoyed a moment of silence.
“By the way…”
You turned to face Sunghoon. “Yeah?”
You noticed that Sunghoon hadn’t lifted his head to look at you, instead lowering his head to hide the blush forming across his face. At that moment, your heart melted, endeared by the sight of him.
“I was thinking… did you want to walk home with me after school?”
Your eyes widened. But seconds later, you smiled.
“Sounds good!”

TIME PASSED IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE. Days flew by, then weeks, and then a month. And during that time, you only grew closer to your friend Sunghoon. Sunghoon, who you could now barely remember what it was like before meeting him.
You never would have thought you’d be attached to the hip with the infamous ‘Ice Prince’, but here you were, walking among a crowd of eager-to-leave students, shoulders almost touching with how close you stood together.
You’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel a little slip of joy when Sunghoon had been the one to ask you first. And now, you two had made it a tradition of sorts to walk home together every day.
You hadn’t ever needed someone to walk you home before. But you would be a fool to turn down an offer from Sunghoon.
As such, you were planning to make the most of it.
“You got along with the others okay, didn’t you?” you asked, referring to the group of friends you had introduced to him today.
Sunghoon nodded with a smile. “Yeah. I even got Beomgyu’s number.”
You smiled cheerfully. At least it wasn’t Ning’s or Yunjin’s, you thought. You couldn’t really explain why, but you felt a little twist in your stomach at the thought of either of them (the only females, coincidentally) in his messages. It was an unwarranted feeling—one that you didn’t have any right to—but you couldn’t help it.
Whatever it was, you would ponder it later. For now, you simply wanted to enjoy the scenery. Flower petals falling from the trees, twirling in the air as they fell gently to the ground, lining your path with pink omens of romance and love.
Ha, you thought, I think I’m getting delusional.
“I’m glad you got along well with them,” you said. “Look at you go— you’ve already gotten new friends with little to no effort required. You’re a lot more sociable than you think.”
Sunghoon looked at you with an unreadable expression. “Really?”
You nodded eagerly. “Of course!”
Sunghoon smiled gently. “You know, when I first met you, I thought you were kind of strange.”
You burst out laughing at the sudden admission. “Oh, really? And what about now?”
“Now?” Sunghoon hummed as if he was in deep thought. When he turned to you, there was a glint of mischief. “Now I realise… you really are pretty weird.”
You faked a scandalised gasp. Slapping the boy hard on the shoulder, watching as he started to laugh at your reaction, you couldn’t help but giggle. If he was teasing you, that meant he considered you to be comfortable enough to joke around with. So, you couldn’t be too annoyed at him.
Especially when those dimples of his poked out.
Gosh I really am weak, aren’t I? you thought.
“It takes one to know one, dummy,” you responded.
Sunghoon chuckled. “Then I guess we’ll be weird together.”
Your eyes softened. If, right then and there, someone were to say you had honey dripping from them, you would believe them. Otherwise, there was no explanation for how bright and golden the boy in front of you appeared at that moment.
“Sure,” you said. “Together.”
Yes two of you walked in a comfortable silence for a few moments after. But you had decided at that moment that you wanted to delay your parting— even if just by a little bit.
“You mentioned that you don’t have training tonight, right?” you asked Sunghoon. The male nodded in response. “Well, there’s an arcade nearby that just opened recently. Wanna check it out?”
Sunghoon smiled, his fangs peeking out as he did. “Sure.”
“Cool.” You then surprised Sunghoon by bolting off. “Race you there!”
“Aish—!”
You giggled as you heard the boy curse before taking off after you. You didn’t care how many looks you got on the way. The sound of your laughter mixing together as you raced down the pavement was music to your ears.
Your new favourite song by far.
That afternoon, you had spent all of your time laughing in the arcade, spending hours like they were nothing but minutes, living solely in that moment. After several games against each other, you two found yourself before the claw machine, counting the last few of your tokens.
“Ahhhh!” You groaned in frustration when you missed the cat plushie you had your eyes set on for the last five minutes. “I just needed to get a little bit to the right!”
Sunghoon chuckled from beside you, watching as you almost tore your hair out. You had only meant to spend one or two tokens on the plush, but after gradually getting closer with each try, you insisted that you “might as well go all the way”… only for you to get nowhere at all.
Now you were tokenless and left feeling like you wanted to smash open the machine.
You sighed as you turned to Sunghoon. “Looks like I’m done for today,” you said with a laugh. “What do you want to do? You still have a few tokens left.”
Sunghoon smiled. “Move.”
You blinked as he gently nudged you aside so that he could get to the claw machine controls, wordlessly slipping a token into the coin slot.
“Ayeeee,” you drawled out, crossing your arms over your chest. “Didn’t you see me before? It’s obviously rigged. You shouldn’t waste your tokens on this.”
But it was too late. Sunghoon was already starting to operate the machine, a smile on his face as he nudged the claw so that it hovered over a penguin plush. You immediately perked up.
You wanted the penguin plush at first, but after seeing how difficult it would be to retrieve it from the corner that was stuck in, you chose to play your cards smart and opt for the cat plush. But while the car plush was much easier to get based on its position, you still failed. So the fact that Sunghoon boldly went after your first option piqued your interest — if not a little ire.
You meant down to his eye level, your heads bumping together slightly as you watched the claw make countless turns to get an optimal angle.
“Someone’s confident.”
Just as you said that, Sunghoon hit the button. You watched as the claw descended, taking the penguin plushie up in a pinch, before slowly making its way over to the dropping bay.
Imagine your surprise when the penguin made it all the way.
You gaped as Sunghoon retrieved his newly retrieved plush from the tray, before fluffing it right in front of your face.
“Wha— but how?” You stuttered out. “No way…”
Sunghoon simply laughed, his dimples poking out from the force of his smile.
“Confidence,” he replied.
You remained frozen in place, still unable to process what had just happened. But what shocked you most was what happened next. Before you could say anything, Sunghoon held out the plush, offering it to you with a tint of red blooming across his cheeks.
“Here,” he said. “You can have it.”
You blinked in surprise, an eruption of butterflies setting off inside your chest. Slowly, you reached out, your fingers brushing against his as you took the penguin plush from his hands.
“Thanks, Hoon,” you said, using the nickname special only to the two of you.
“Like it?” he asked, watching as you softly squished the plush, your eyes filled with wonder.
You held the plush to your chest. You smiled at him and nodded.
“I like it.”
I like you.

PEOPLE OFTEN CALLED SPRING THE SEASON OF ROMANCE. Of pink flower petals, pink as the cheeks of lovesick youths; of blossoming love, nurtured by the warm encounters shared between two people hopelessly lost in each other’s orbit.
But not everyone was meant to experience that feeling for themselves. And you were one of them, it seemed.
“I like you.”
The words fell from your lips as easily as the petals of the cherry blossoms from the tree above you. His eyes widened at your sudden confessions, his head turning to face you, no longer occupied with watching the shifting clouds hanging over your heads.
Your voice is soft. Full of hesitance, yet honest all the same. But he doesn’t make a move to reciprocate. He could only stand there, frozen as the ice he held dear to himself.
Maybe you shouldn’t have said anything. Maybe you should have gone on pretending that you didn’t feel anything for him. Pretend as if Park Sunghoon — one of your closest friends — didn’t make your heart burst like the kaleidoscope of colours at the storefront of a flower shop.
But there was no denying it. You couldn’t lie to yourself… and not to him, either.
“What?” he asked, his voice weak with shock.
You swallowed heavily, the weight of your words squeezing down on your chest.
“I like you,” you repeated. “I have for a long time now.”
You stood there for what seemed to be an eternity of silence. Sunghoon looks at you, his eyebrows furrowed in a deep frown, his shoulders tense. And at that moment, you probably already knew what was coming.
“I… I’m sorry.” Sunghoon lowered his head, unable to look at you. If you listened closely, you could hear the sound of shattered glass — the remnants of your heart breaking at his words.
You forced a smile, despite how much it pained you to do so. “It’s okay,” you said. “It happens… I just wanted to let you know.”
Sunghoon but his lip. “We can still be friends, though… right?”
You nodded. “Of course.”
That’s what you told him. But truth be told, you didn’t know how you could go on, acting like nothing had happened. Acting like you didn’t wish to be something more. And so, that afternoon, when you walked home alone — needing time to yourself to wipe the tears that fell down your cheeks as you mindlessly dragged yourself to your bed — you could only think of one thing.
That from this moment forth, you would do what needed to be done to save your own heart. Even if it meant breaking it at the same time. So when Sunghoon texted you later that night, budding you sweet dreams, you didn’t reply.
Unaware that his own heart was breaking just as much as your own.
Sunghoon stared at his message, waiting for the text bubbles to appear on your end, which would signal that you were about to respond. But as minutes passed — and soon, an hour — and there was no sign of reciprocation on your end, he finally turned off his phone and dropped it on his pillow.
He sighed deeply, running his hands through his hair.
Your confession had completely caught him off guard. He hadn’t expected that you felt anything more for him than friendly affection, considering how easily you endeared yourself to others. How easily you smiled, how easily you made others laugh, how easily you broke down any walls around their hearts….
Himself included.
But he didn’t know what it was that he felt for you. For a long time, he barely had any friends to call his own — acquaintances maybe, but never friends. And then you came out of nowhere, literally crashing into his life, with the bold proclamation of being his friend within hours of knowing him.
He didn’t know how you did it. How you made him so curious about you that he woke up every morning waiting for your texts, or anticipating the sight of your smile.
He didn’t know what you were doing to him. But he didn’t want it to change. He wanted you to always be there with him, to share all his moments with him, small or big, good or bad. But now…
One last time, Sunghoon checked his phone.
No answer.
He closed his eyes. He hoped with all his heart that this was temporary. That tomorrow morning, when he woke up, he would see your name as a notification, bidding him good morning with that smiley emoji you seemed to favour so much.
He hoped — more desperately than words could say — that he didn’t just lose you forever.
But he started to see the signs.
The next morning, he didn’t hear a word from you. When he got to school to your usual meet up spot, you were nowhere to be seen. And when he got to class, taking his seat next to your empty desk, imagine his surprise when he found out you weren’t coming to school.
“She said she was feeling sick,” Yunjin told him, surprised. “She didn’t tell you?”
No. You didn’t. And Sunghoon didn’t know what was worse — that he was the only one who didn’t know, or that he was the only who knew the real reason why you weren’t there.
You were avoiding him. And it only became obvious when things continued the next, and the next day after…
Slowly, but surely, you were slipping from his grasp.
Slowly but surely, he was losing you.
One day, he realised, you would stop being there altogether. One day, you would go on and find new people to surround yourself with. New people to tease, new people to spam with cute texts, new people to go to the arcades with…
And a new person to like. Perhaps, more than him.
Sunghoon felt sick at the thought of you with someone else. The thought of you confessing to them the way you did to him. And he was starting to realise why.
“Hey, Yunjin.”
Sunghoon stopped by the girl’s desk as soon as the bell rang.
“Hey, what’s up?” she asked curiously.
Sunghoon pointed at the notes she was currently on the middle of putting away in her bag. The notes she was asked to copy down and give to you so you could catch up from home.
“Those are for her, right?”
At your house, buried under your covers, you had no idea of what was happening. Completely oblivious to the desperate boy on his way to your house, running as if his life depended on it, you curled into a ball, your limbs feeling too weak to leave the cocoon you made for yourself on your bed.
A knock on your bedroom door causing you to lift your head.
“What?” you asked in irritation.
“Don’t you know how to check your phone?” Your older brother, Heeseung asked. “One of your friends from school is here saying that they were meant to give you your catch up notes. But you weren’t answering.”
You sat up in your bed. Checking your phone, you saw several missed calls from Yunjin. You groaned. You quickly texted an apology before kicking your sheets off your figure and rushing to the bathroom to fix your appearance.
Despite having taken a shower not too long ago, you still looked utterly miserable, and the wetness of your hair only added to the drowned rat look you were sporting, with your oversized white tee shirt and old gym shorts.
You sighed as you quickly fixed your hair as best you could. Hopefully, Yunjin wouldn’t care too much.
You trudged to your door, slamming it open to see Heeseung standing there with raised eyebrows.
“Are you sure you wanna go down looking like that?” he asked.
You rolled your eyes. “Who cares? It’s just Yunjin.”
Heeseung’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “When did I say—?”
But before Heeseung could finish, you were already pushing past him. You really didn’t have time for his nagging, especially when he had already been doing it for the last few days, urging you to get out of your room and even trying to drag you out by force. He might have thrown you into the back of the car to drive you away from home — where you had been locked up for days now — to go anywhere with fresh air if it weren’t for your mother scolding him.
With a tired sigh, you made your way downstairs. Since both your parents weren’t home, it was completely quiet, and you could hear your footsteps echo as they padded across the tiled floors of the kitchen to your front door.
You cleared your throat as you opened the door.
“Hey, Yun—“ your eyes widened when you saw who was at the door. “Sunghoon?”
Sunghoon smiled tiredly, panting, his shoulders rising and falling as if he had just ran a mile.
“Hey.”
You gaped.
“I— what— why—?” You couldn’t even make out words in your shock. At that moment, you remembered what Heeseung said about your appearance and gasped. “Wait, I’m not dressed—“
You almost closed the door in Sunghoon’s face. But before you could even move, he had already reached out to grab your arm pulling you to his chest. Your eyes widened at the feeling of his arms enveloping you, covering you in warmth.
“Hoon…?” you asked, your voice shaky.
Sunghoon took a deep breath. And only then, you realised he was crying.
“Hoon? What’s wrong?” you asked. You tried to pull away and look at his face, only for him to tighten his grip on you.
“I like you.”
You froze in place.
“What did you just say?”
Sunghoon took another shaky breath, his forms hovering as he held onto you as if you might disappear at any moment.
“I didn’t realise it until now… and I’m so sorry it took so long,” he whispered, his voice shaky and hoarse. “But I like you. I like you a lot. And when you were gone I missed you like crazy.”
He pulled away, looking you in the eyes.
Your heart hammered away in your chest. We’re you dreaming? Or did Sunghoon really just say he liked you — you, of all people. The whole time you spent lying in bed mourning your broken heart, he had been feeling the same way for you that you did for him?
“I…” your voice shook as you pulled away from the hug. You looked into his eyes, wet from tears. Those tears were from you, you realised. You did this to him. You made him cry. “I’m so sorry…”
Sunghoon sniffled, shaking his head. “It’s okay.” His hands, still shaking from his raging emotions, slowly made their way up your arms, before cupping your face. “Just tell me… please tell me you haven’t moved on.”
You shook your head, swallowing the lump in your throat. “Never.”
“Then be mine,” Sunghoon whispered, almost as if he was praying.
You didn’t say anything in return. Instead, you pulled his tie down, so that his lips crashed against yours, fitting like two pieces on a jigsaw puzzle. You let your lips move against his own without any thought but the feel of his mouth on yours. Of the feeling of him holding you to him, like you belonged there on the first place.
And you did.
You were a fool to think otherwise.
A few minutes later — after Heeseung had chased Sunghoon away, claiming “kids should be in bed by now” — you lay on your bed to find a new message from Sunghoon.
Hoon: can’t wait to see you again
You giggled.
You: you only just left 😆
Hoon: i know just can’t help it
As you read his next message, a warm feeling wrapped around your heart.

MASTERLIST
wc- dawg idk like 300???
oh mr. park… given an allowance AND having idol income. at first it would all go to his savings, like if he wanted to take a class, or if the rockstar wanted to buy more things for his guitar. however….. when you came into the picture 1/3 of his savings just seemed to vanish. well, not vanish jay knew exactly where it was going. and soon it became 2/3rds of his savings.
jay loved to spoil you rotten, he loved seeing your eyes light up at the new bag he got you. the way you’d let your fingers glide against the material of the leather strap. how you’d talk excitedly about the history of the bag design. he loved it.
jay’s favorite part of spoiling you was how you’d geek out over whatever item he bought you. like the one time he bought you a piece of jewelry from a movie you liked. you started to go on and on about the movie and the details of said movie.
he loved every second of spoiling you because he got to hear you happily talk.
buying you things was great and all, but seeing you smile and give an excited giggle unwrapping what he got you was the best part. jay had never felt such adrenaline unless he was performing.
you always get so giddy when jay comes home from tour or whatever business trip he was on. for starters, because you get to see the love of your life again. and because you get to see the excited look on his face when he pulls a present out from behind his back.
you loved his reactions to giving you things just as much as the actual gift. you made sure to always show him how grateful you are of him. you may be spoiled rotten but you’d never in your life take advantage of his kindness.
jay would do anything for you, if you wanted a trip to the moon and back he’d plan it for years so you could have that trip.
and trust me, with as much as he buys you, he probably could take that total and fly you to the moon.
jay can’t help it, he loves you way too much for his bank account’s good. the bleeding of the numbers didn’t really matter anyways, your attention and your company, the fact you chose him over anyone else on earth is his idea of getting spoiled by you.
oh and ps…. he’d definitely spoil you with random trips to places you’ve always wanted to go to. or let you pick out ANYTHING you wanted in any store you’d want. jay loves seeing you prance around places. you’re just so precious to him

“My god, it’s my wife again,” heeseung sighed. He was just out trying to spend a “peaceful” night with his co workers, and here you are, blowing up his phone and spamming him about his whereabouts. “I have to go before she has a panic attack.”
“She has you so whipped,” his friend and coworker Jake says.
“We must all have the same wife,” Heeseung replies, making the rest of the guys laugh while he grabs his jacket and takes one last shot before leaving the bar.“See you guys tomorrow!” He waves to his table of friends before going home, and he dreads walking through the door and having to deal with your constant whining and complaining.
He takes a deep breath before entering his home, but nothing can prepare him for the nagging he faces as soon as he enters.
He didn’t even get to take his shoes off before you had already started motor mouthing him. “Oh my god,” he rubs his temples in frustration. He already had a headache from work, and now he has to listen to your high pitched whining.
“Where were you? Why didn’t you answer my calls? I was worried about you.” you walk over to him to greet him with a hug. You don’t mean to bombard him with questions, but you were worried sick. “Is that- is that alcohol? Have you been drinking?” You say after breaking the hug that he didn’t even bother returning.
“Yes baby, it’s alcohol,” he sighs and takes his coat and shoes off, loosening his tie while he looks at you, completely disinterested in what you have to say.
“Hee, were you drinking and dri-“
“Yes! Oh my fucking god!” he shouts, cutting you off. “I’m a grown fucking man. I can drink, I can drive, and I can definitely take care of myself. I don’t need you keeping fucking tabs on me 24/7. I’m not a child I’m your husband.” he brushes past you, heading straight for the fridge to get another beer cause the five he had at the bar weren’t quite enough to help him put up with you.
You stood there, completely shocked by what he said. You knew you could be a little over the top and overprotective of him, but you didn’t know that’s what he thought of you.
Making your way over to the kitchen, you parted your lips to apologize. “Please just don’t. I already have a headache, and I can’t do this with you right now.” You close your mouth and instead try to hug him as an apology, but he just pushes you away. “Can you get any more annoying?” He shakes his head, popping off the lid on his beer and drinking half the bottle.
To say you were hurt would be an understatement this had been going on for months, this strange behavior that your husband adopted seemingly out of nowhere. The first time you talked to him about it, he just told you he was stressed from work and had a few drinks. You thought that was the end of it, but more often than not, he’d come home late, reeking of alcohol and treating you like you had zero feelings. You weren’t trying to scold him or baby him. You were just worried about him, but obviously, he didn’t see it like that.
Things had been a little rocky in the marriage. Lately, he spent more time at work and less time at home. You two rarely talked anymore. More like he wouldn’t let you talk. Every time you tried to get him to open up, he just shut down, and now you were stressed out because now not only was your husband shutting you out, but he was treating you like absolute trash, and you couldn’t believe it the day you met him he wouldn’t have dared talked to you that way but the heeseung you married was apparently long gone and you can’t believe after five long years of a happy loving marriage it all just went to pot in the last eight months and you don’t even know where to begin to fix it cause now his rotten attitude was now rubbing off on you which is why you responded with. “I guess I wasn’t annoying in bed last night.”
He chuckles, taking another sip of his beer. “That’s right, cause your mouth was doing something useful instead of bitching”
You gasp from his foul language, and he has the nerve to laugh at your shocked face. “What is your problem? Why are you acting like such an asshole?” You say with tears welling in your eyes and a defeated tone.
“You’re my problem, and maybe I wouldn’t be “such an asshole,” he says with finger quotes. “if you weren’t such a needy bitch” he scoffs. “Like my god, give me a fucking break heeseung this heeseung that when do you ever just shut the fuck up?”
You looked at him for a solid minute, complete utter silence taking over the kitchen, and you know what, if that’s what he thought of you, then so be it. “F-fine, I won’t be your problem anymore.” you turn away from him, not before a few tears trickled down your cheek.
Once he noticed you crying, he kinda felt bad even though you were being so over dramatic. “Baby….” Heeseung sighed, walking after you and gripping your forearm.
“I’m not your baby, and don’t you dare fucking touch me!” You yanked your arm out of his grip and went to the bedroom, leaving him stunned in the hallway cause you never treated him like that before.
“Shit,” he mutters and plops down on the couch finishing a few more beers to give you some time to calm down cause he knew you were just overreacting and being emotional like you always are.
He quietly enters the bedroom a while later, stripping down to his underwear and slipping in the covers, attempting to put his arm around your waist, but you simply scooted away from him. Instead of him getting the hint, he scooted closer to you, trying to back hug you, but this time, you got out of bed, grabbing a pillow and a spare sheet to sleep on the couch. “Where are you going?” He whispers groggily. From all the alcohol he drank, you could literally smell him as soon as he entered the bed.
“The couch,” you respond, tone as cold as ice.
“Fine, be a cunt, then see if I fucking care” he turns around in the bed, throwing the blankets over his shoulder and pretending that he was alright with you ignoring his touch and sleeping on the couch.
You just shook your head back and forth and left without another thought, going to sleep on the couch cold, sad, hurt, and alone.
In the morning, heeseung felt like shit. When he woke up, his head was pounding, and his muscles were sore from all the hours he’d been working. “Morning bab-“ he stopped when he remembered the fight you guys had last night, and that just made his head throb even harder than it already was.
After getting ready for work, he came out of the bedroom expecting breakfast, but you were still asleep on the couch. It looks like you slept a little bit more soundly without him than he did without you. He was literally tossing and turning all night.
He quickly kissed your forehead before leaving for work.
By the time you woke up, it was five in the afternoon, and that was the perfect time. Heeseung wouldn’t be home till eleven, and you’d be done packing far earlier than that.
You’d be lying if you said getting a divorce hasn’t been on your mind, but you gave it a couple of months to see if things would get any better between the two of you. But sadly, it didn’t, and divorce sounded like the only option. heeseung wasn’t communicating with you, and the past few months were eating you alive. If you stayed much longer, you probably would have lost yourself even more than you already have.
You gave up on dressing nice. What was the point when your man wouldn’t even take you out of the house you barely cleaned cause you just didn’t have the energy to, showering happened every other day, and you always felt useless cause your husband was struggling and you couldn’t help him the only thing that seemed to make him feel better was having you at night but even in bed he wasn’t the same he was more demanding always concerned about his pleasure and not yours which was a turn off for you.
But luckily, that was all going to end. After tonight, it would finally be over. You were freeing yourself from eight long months of abuse.
Once you finished packing, you stood on his side of the bedroom, a single tear leaving your eye as you slipped off your beautiful wedding ring and placed it on top of the divorce papers that you had already signed.
You left sooner than later because the longer you stayed, the more it was going to hurt, and you’ve been hurting for far too long already.
Heeseung was at the bar again, drowning himself in beer after beer and shot after shot, trying to forget the argument he had with you, but nothing was working.
He kept checking his phone every other minute, keeping an eye out to see if you sent him a text cause if you did, he was gonna respond right away and head straight home, so you wouldn’t have to worry about him being stupid for the countless night in a row yet a text never came, and he figured you must be really really upset with him this time.
“Is that your wife?” Jake asked, noticing him checking his phone every few minutes.
“No, actually,” he dryly chuckled, his thumb hovering over the power button on his phone. He turned it on and unlocked it, sifting through all his messages, and still not a single one from you. And now he was starting to get worried because this wasn’t like you. He should have at least ten missed calls and twenty different texts by now cause it was past midnight, and that’s always when you really started to spam him.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be at it soon enough.” his friend Jay pours him another drink, one that he doesn’t bother touching cause he’s still too focused on his phone, waiting to hear from you. “Ugh,” Jake sighed, a ding going off on his phone. “If it’s not one, it’s the other, am I right? Jake laughs, responding to his wife, telling her he’d be home soon and not to worry cause he’s with friends.
“Yeah,” heeseung mumbled and fake laughed if he was being honest. He was a little envious of Jake cause at least his wife was texting him.
Heeseung repeated his previous actions, checking for a new message, but he still had zero notifications. “You know, I think I’m gonna head home for the night.”
“What? It’s still early, though,” Jay complains.
“Yeah, yeah, I know, but I’ll see you tomorrow.” he drops a fifty on the table, quickly grabs his jacket, and jogs to his car. Something somewhere deep inside him was telling him that there was something wrong, and if anything like a break in or something bad happened to you cause he was out at the bar, he swears he’d never forgive himself.
Speeding down the street, he tries calling you, but no answer, which makes him even more worried. “Fuck! Baby, please be okay.” he feels himself on the verge of tears as he runs multiple red lights to get home to you. Most people might think he’s overreacting, but you never missed a call from him ever, not in your whole five years of marriage.
His heart drops when he finally arrives and sees your car no longer in the driveway. “Baby,” he mutters and unfastens his belt. Jogging up the porch, he quickly inserted his house key, and when he comprehended what he saw when he entered, it shattered his heart. It was almost as bad as a break in your stuff nowhere to be found, your shoes gone, all your little ornaments and decorations completely wiped out. “What’s this?” He says after entering the bedroom and, his heart felt like it stopped when he saw your wedding ring on his nightstand, accompanied by divorce papers. “No,” he shakes his head in denial, slowly backing away from the nightstand until his back hits the wall. “No,” he whimpers, sliding down the length of the bedroom wall. “Baby, no,” he whispers to himself, not wanting to believe what he was seeing. He knew he could be an asshole sometimes, but he never thought you would ever divorce him. “I’m so sorry,” he cries, running his thumb over the diamond on your ring. And right now, he’d rewind time just to hear your back to back questions when he came through the door. He’d never touch alcohol ever again if it meant he got to feel your welcoming hugs, and if he had just one more chance, he’d treat you the way you deserve.
He sniffs, wiping his tears and reaching for his phone, dialing your number only for it to go straight to voicemail.
He drops the phone at his side, staring off into space as tears roll down his cheeks. “Baby, I’m sorry. Please come back to me.”

“You act as if you’re obsessed with me, Jake,” you point out, eyes playfully rolling back at him, the absolute bane of your parent’s existence, your boyfriend.
The dim lighting of the empty corridor only does justice to Jake Sim as he glows, hair slicked back in his all black suit that made him look like Lucifer himself. And it’s utterly ironic, how he tempts you like a sinner then treats you like an angel.
“I am though,” he grins, not a single hint of embarrassment evident in his voice, “sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night screaming your name.” It’s a whisper, yet it’s loud as his words resonate in your chest, sending chills down your spine.
He bends down, your back plastered against the cool marble wall of the fancy hotel that you should know the name of, yet everything is fuzzy as you come face to face with Jake. His effect on you is everlasting, just like it was when you first met him.
Out of the many rules imposed on you, one was written in bold, highlighted in fluorescent, and drilled into your mind — never ever befriend or even talk to a Sim. They’re rude and manipulative, taking every single opportunity to drain you dry for their own gains.
But you couldn’t help your weak heart, especially not when a boy like Jake Sim stood in front of you, face sculpted like a Greek god as he adored you as if you were the one that was otherworldly.
And so it started — climbing through windows unethically when the sky was a stroke of midnight blue, lies and lies that you were feeling unwell just to get pulled into an empty room to meet Jake. It was bad, very wrong, yet not a single tinge of guilt could be found in you.
“Not here,” you mutter, palms placed flat against his muscular chest. “Someone might be watching.”
He groans, “whatever, baby, let them watch.” His eyes are etched on your lips, tongue darting out swiftly before he bends down once again, “wanna show you off for once.”
Your lips are smooth, falling open at the brush of his tongue, welcoming him as his ring clad fingers grasp your hips. It’s heaven on earth, and Jake wishes that he could have you by his side every second of the day, that he could have the only privilege he had ever wanted amidst all in his life — to kiss you whenever he wanted to.
Jake doesn’t know how it happened, maybe it was curiosity or just the pure fact that you were labelled as forbidden that made the thought of you more appealing, more intoxicating, more fun. And he never expected it to be anything more than a game, but here he was, confessing that you were all he could ever think about, dream about.
“Jake,” you whine, pushing him away with great effort before glancing around to see if anyone was watching. Jake thinks he might go insane just looking at you, swollen lips and pretty face as you stare at him in slight disappointment — but how could he ever control the urge to kiss his pretty girl.
“Jake?” He cocks his head to the side, lips slightly downturned as he laments, “we’re alone right now and you’re calling me Jake? You wound me.” He holds back a cocky smirk at the way your eyes dim at the sight of his facade.
“You can always kiss it better, baby.” The playful smirk that he’s unable to hold back now showcased on his face, and it’s times like this that you find yourself cursing Jake Sim and his godly charm. He’s playing with you, and it’s painfully obvious, and you can’t seem to do anything but stare with burning red ears and cheeks.
“C’mon baby, don’t be shy, I’m all yours.” You can feel his hot breath hitting your lips, fingers caressing your waist as he pulls you closer and gives you nothing but teasing glances as he waits for you to initiate the kiss.
“We’re not supposed to do this,” you murmur, yet your actions oppose your words as you close the gap between his lips and yours, pure ecstasy as he smiles into the kiss.
Again and again, as Jake Sim pressed soft kisses on your lips, under the dim lighting of the hallway, just a few metres away from your parents. But he thinks it doesn’t matter what the consequences might be, he’d be fine as long as you were there to kiss it better.

“I’d kiss you but your boyfriend’s watching,” Sunghoon mumbles, and he’s so close you can feel his breath on your lips.
He holds your gaze confidently, with a tinge of arrogance as his tongue darts out to lick his lip. You think that Sunghoon is the most annoying person in the world, because how can he look so devilishly handsome and have such an intoxicating effect on you.
It all started when he showed up unannounced and uninvited to your birthday party — still in his school uniform, tie loosened and sleeves rolled up with his blazer hanging over his shoulder.
And you should have known better than to let him charm his way into your house. “What are you doing here, Hoon?”
He loves the way his nickname rolls off the tip of your tongue, it's so addictive and he wants to record it so that he can play it again and again, even if your tone is one of spite.
“Happy birthday princess,” Sunghoon completely ignores your words, taking steps closer towards you, “now, where’s my birthday kiss?”
He’s at it again, aimlessly flirting with you. You roll your eyes, a deep sigh exiting your mouth, “it’s my birthday, Hoon.” How did he even know where you lived? You were sure you told everyone you invited not to bring him along.
“So I’ll give you a birthday kiss,” he grins, eyes glinting with mischief as he watches your facial expressions fall, ears burning red as you quickly turn around.
You hate Park Sunghoon and the unimaginable hold he has on you. “I’m going to find my mother. Do not, I swear to god, cause any trouble.”
“Your mother? It’s a little early in the relationship,” he moves swiftly to your side, arms casually slinging over your shoulder as he pulls you closer into him forcefully. “But it’s okay, I’m ready.”
Where in the world does Sunghoon get his cocky attitude from, you think as you try your best to pry and lift his arm away from your shoulder. Despite your surface indifference towards his advances, there were millions of butterflies invading your stomach at his every single action.
Before you can even try to escape, a voice calls your name and you stop to talk to Yunjin. “Park Sunghoon? What are you doing here?”
Sunghoon steals a glance at you, and he thinks you look absolutely adorable as you pout at the image of multiple people seeing you with him; given how you always seemed to have complaints about his overly flirty nature and playboy ways.
But Sunghoon hasn’t fooled around since you transferred into Decelis two months ago, a personal record for him. At first all you were was a form of entertainment, someone who had cute reactions to his smooth pick up lines.
Then it all came crashing down, when he started to feel the need to bicker with you everyday and mess up your hair every time he sees you in the hallways. And somewhere in between the blurred lines, he fell in love.
“Here to celebrate my girl’s birthday,” he cocks his head towards you, who’s palms now cover your face in sheer embarrassment. God, now it’s going to spread like wildfire. His girl?
Yunjin’s eyes widen and jaw drops, “really? You guys are together? But I thought you were with Choi Soobin.” She asks, nudging you.
Sunghoon frowns at her words. Choi Soobin? Since when? Sunghoon literally follows you around school whenever he sees you, and he’s never seen you ever talk to that boy.
“Soobin and I are just friends,” you clarify, “also we are not a couple,” your finger gesturing to you and Sunghoon as you answer the girl.
“Tomorrow we’ll be a couple,” Sunghoon cuts back into the conversation, voice loud, and he catches your surprised expression as he smirks slyly.
Though he continues the conversation without a single stutter or break, Sunghoon’s feeling utterly disgusted. Is that the kind of boy you like? Nerdy losers who can’t do anything for the life of themselves? He doesn’t really like the thought of turning into those types of boys, but whatever you want, he thinks — he’s already practised abstinence for you, he might as well go all the way.
At the same time Sunghoon wonders if you’re really that oblivious to his obvious advancements towards you. He’s made it crystal clear: dumped his girlfriend, follows you around, talks about you literally all the time, and yet you’re still clueless.
And he whisks you away before you find the chance to clarify his words again. He’s determined this time round, to make it extremely straightforward for you.
“Hoon why in the world would you say stuff like that,” you groan, hands slapping his chest. And he grins like an idiot at your touch, if this was what it took for you to initiate skinship with him, he’d be more than willing to proclaim himself as your boyfriend any day.
He places a hand on the place you’d just hit, “it’s painful,” he pouts, and you almost feel a little guilty at your harsh actions, “can you kiss it better?”
Until that. You huff, “i’m leaving,” you announce as you turn away, ready to walk right back into the crowd. Sunghoon quickly clasps his fingers around your wrist, pulling you into his chest.
Your eyes become those of a deer caught in headlights as your body is pressed firmly against his, his arms finding their way to your waist; a gentle but firm hold as he bends down.
“Wasn’t done yet, princess,” he smirks, and you feel some sort of danger looming over because Sunghoon looks like a devil enticing you to commit sin. His black hair styles perfectly like always and his red tie, due to his excessive movements, is now dropping down even more to expose his honey skinned collarbones.
The most you can muster is a mumble, “what,” and your eyes are glassy as you stare up at him, he thinks he might go insane — so close to just moving in to place a kiss on your invitingly soft lips.
“I’d kiss you but your boyfriend’s watching,” and he literally spits the term out, unable to believe he’s labelling someone else other than him ‘your boyfriend’. He knows you guys aren’t together, but just for the comfort of his heart he has to hear it again.
It takes you a while before you process his words. “He’s not my boyfriend, Hoon,” and it’s that short statement coupled with the way you say his name that really breaks it for him.
Sunghoon moves in just as you finish your sentence, and he sinks into your pillowy lips. It’s paradise on earth and he thinks he will never be able to get enough of this feeling.
“Sunghoon,” you mumble when he breaks the kiss, slightly out of breath as you look up with hazy eyes.
He chuckles, “sorry, baby, my bad. I’ll return your kiss back,” and Sunghoon doesn’t hesitate to give you another kiss, fingers caressing your waist as he pulls you closer to him.
This time it’s you who breaks the kiss, way too out of breath to even form full sentences without a few breaks in between. “You just kissed me.”
“Right, I just did that baby,” he smiles, those tiny fangs of his showcased as he gazes adoringly at you. “Actually, I’m looking for a girlfriend.” He pauses, eyeing your flushed cheeks and pink lips, “you looking for a boyfriend by any chance, princess?”
Now that you’re literally glued onto Sunghoon, you take the chance to look at him. Sharp nose, pretty moles that you could probably trace along all day, and his eyes which contrasting to his calm demeanour, held anxiousness as he waited for you to answer.
You’ve thought about dating Sunghoon before. Multiple times. Way more than you should’ve. And you never wanted to ever confess to it, because he was everyone’s crush. And not only that, he was annoying — constantly teasing you and making you flustered by his actions. You’d curse every time your heartbeat started to accelerate at his flirty words. You had thought that there was no way he’d ever like you back.
“I’m looking for a boyfriend,” you admit, letting out a soft giggle at Sunghoon’s overjoyed expression. And you decide that maybe now’s the time to get back at him, tease him a little to get him to stay on his toes, “maybe I should go find Soobin.”
His shoulders downturn almost immediately and his arms wrap around your waist securely, chin resting on the top of your head. “No fucking way,” he grumbles, “you’re my girlfriend now. And I’m your boyfriend.”
“Yeah, you are,” you say, voice muffled in the embrace of Sunghoon. And you hear him giggle slightly, the rumble of his chest exposing the boyish feelings your boyfriend was currently going through, “for now.”
Sunghoon lifts his chin from your head, fingers brushing over your cheeks before they land themselves on your jaw. He tilts your chin up, “too bad my intention is forever.” And he places a chaste kiss on your lips again and again.

“hey beautiful,” your soft gasp spins in the air as heeseung’s arms wrap around your waist from behind, his face nuzzled up in your neck; something that makes you freeze in your stance as you’re cleaning the kitchen counter after dinner.
“hee?” you say a little above the silence in the kitchen. the pendant lights being the only source of lighting around, it only reminds you how pretty he looks under the dim yellow glow— exactly what he’s thinking right now, about you. “back already?”
and you had expected him to stay out at least till an hour after midnight. after all, evening plans with the guys always keep him out of the doors of his apartment, usually inside a karaoke bar or someone's house, watching a movie. “hm, just missed you, my love,”
his arms wrap a little tighter around you as those words fall off his lips and you chuckle, assuming he’s feeling a bit clingier than usual. you feel his lips softly grazing against your shoulders, a touch that takes you to heaven and back. and it’s nice— to stand in the plain silence of the night, just the two of you and the sound of your soft conversations whispered into the air, just his kisses that trace along your neck, just the way you could stand there and soak in his presence forever.
you turn around, his arms not leaving your waist even for a second, pushing you against the counter instead as he steps closer, just close enough for you to feel his warm breath on your lips— your furrow your brows in dubiety. “did you drink?”
“a little,” he nods in response, whispering against your neck. “you smell so good, angel,” he leans in again, stroking his lips over your collarbones. “did you get a new perfume?”
“yeah, yesterday,” you reply with a soft hum.
and heeseung looks up at you, pulling you a little closer by your waist as he goes in for a kiss, his nose brushing against yours, lips just a few centimetres apart before you put your finger in between. “you reek of alcohol,”
“ah,” he pauses, looking at you before chuckling ever so quietly, burying his face in your neck once again, enamoured, drowsy, tipsy, against your clavicle. “guess i don’t smell as good at you,”
you feel his breath against your skin as you both laugh, a sound that resonates with melody and melancholy. you fingers fiddle with the tips of his hair, lips planting the softest kiss on his cheeks as if you’re muttering the sweetest confession. he feels the love he has for you overflow, it’s so much, so deep, it scares him. he knows it will drown him, he knows he will let it.
“wash up,” another kiss pressed against his cheeks, he nods slightly against your neck. “let’s go to bed,”
“if you keep using this perfume,” his hands fiddle with the hem of your dress, fingers slowly sliding under as he paints invisible patterns over your skin, now looking at you with the same half drunk expression in his eyes, not sure if it’s from love or alcohol. “i might not be able to stop myself from kissing you,”
and his gaze puts you in a light trance, unable to move or respond, far too spell bound by his voice that nothing else seems sensible enough. your eyes settle on his lips and he gets the hint, leaning in once again, an action, this time, mirrored by you as you whisper against his lips. “then i’ll make sure to wear it every day,”
his lips taste of love. a bit bitter, half chapped yet still so soft as they move against yours. you feel the slightest of beer on your tongue, the air smells of the bergamot in your perfume, accompanied by amber. it smells of alcohol as he pressed himself against yours, the feeling just as intoxicating as the drink he had. it smells of him and you,

summary- Sunghoon lingered around until he was ready to sink his teeth into his desire
You didn’t believe in vampires or any mystical creatures for that matter. You believed they were just merely apart of the fictitious world. But if they were to ever exist, you believe they would take the form of Park Sunghoon.
Park Sunghoon was the notorious popular boy around your campus, he had everything anyone could ever want. Everyone knew him and the power he held and they all wanted a chance with him, to take a look inside the hidden shadows of a world that Sunghoon lives in.
Yet, he never gave the time of day to anyone, he kept his distance with anyone that were practically attached to the idea on him. He only continued on with his life, not letting the desires of others distract him.
However, there were the few selected that Sunghoon had spared a glance towards and they were never the same after meeting him. They seemed to have had a new side to them that no one could decipher.
You had your fair number of interactions with him, whether it was mere glances around campus or discussion about assigned projects, you thought it was nothing major but to others it seemed to unravel something you weren’t aware of.
The interactions you’ve had with him was more than enough to have people crowd you. You hated having random people show up next to you, only to ask what it was like to be so close in the presence of Park Sunghoon.
You didn’t get why everyone was practically at his mercy. He was just a human being like the rest of you.
You yawned as you could feel the all-nighter catching up to you, you had an exam this upcoming week and you decided to go over the material in the library.
You tried to stay awake but you knew better there was no way you would make it without falling asleep. You gathered your belongings and decided to call it night and hope for the possible best.
You had walked at night plenty of times and thankfully you never encountered anyone during these times. Yet, you guess that might change when you feel the presence of someone behind you. You were pushing past it a few blocks back thinking it must be someone else heading home after an exhausting day.
But you realized that the person was always behind you, taking every turn and stride as you. That’s when you realized you were being followed, you tried to remain calm and rational.
You would look at passing windows and see the reflection of the shadow figure of the person, head hanging low not wanting to get caught. You gulped nervously, you were just about to reach your place in a few minutes so you hope the person would just leave you alone.
As you were walking, your eyes landed onto a person walking in the opposite direction from you but widened to see that it was Sunghoon.
You wondered what he was doing out so late at night, but in that moment you were grateful to see a familiar face. You and Sunghoon made eye contact with each other, his gaze was hard and you could notice him slowing down his pace and changing directions to walk over to you.
You stopped walking, waiting for him. You could see the glance he took behind you and you assumed he must’ve noticed the person behind you. He kept his harsh gaze behind you until he reached you and changed his gaze onto you.
“I’ll walk you home” You didn’t protest his offer, you simply nodded your head and the two of walked by each other’s side
You could feel the presence behind you finally disappear and you released a sigh of relief. You could feel Sunghoon’s gaze never leaving you but you didn’t look at him, you were already beyond exhaustion.
“Are you okay?” He never asked you about your well being so this was definitely a shock for you
“Yeah I’m fine thank you” You gratefully smiled at him and he only hummed, you wanted to ask what he was doing out so late at night but you decided not to pry, it’s none of your business
After a few minutes of walking, you finally arrived at your place. You told him it was fine that he didn’t have to walk you all the way to your front door but he insisted. Just as you were going to go inside, Sunghoon stopped you.
“Can I use your phone to call my friend? I’m supposed to meet up with him but my phone died” You stared at him for a moment, but nonetheless you took out your phone and gave it to him, you were turning the favor of him walking you home
Sunghoon smiled quickly before typing in your phone. When he gave back your phone, you noticed that he never called anyone. You looked at your phone to see the new contact created in your phone.
Park Sunghoon. You looked to see Sunghoon already going down the stairs, he could feel your gaze on him and he turned around when he reach the bottom.
“Call me whenever you have to walk alone, I’ll walk with you” And with that he was gone, you looked to try and find him but you could his faint figure walking and turning the corner, before disappearing into the night
As you looked back down to your phone, you found yourself dwelling on his words, you scoffed to yourself as you shook your head.
Sunghoon didn’t mean what he said.
After Sunghoon dropped you off at your house, he got rid of the smugly smile he had as the thought about the moment between you two faded from his mind and was replaced with the thought of the person following you.
He had a scowl on his face as he grumbled. Now he definitely was going to be late meeting his friend.
Sunghoon yawned as the low vampire struggled from beneath his foot. He would be damn if the low vampire thought he would go easy. The low vampire was thinking of hurting you and if he hadn’t arrived, Sunghoon knew he would have to get his hands dirty.
Everyone in the area knew, you were the only one to never be messed with.
You were under his sworn protection until eternity.
“Are you going to apologize for trying to go after her?” Sunghoon was instigating an apology but when the low vampire stayed silent, Sunghoon pressed his foot harder causing the low vampire to groan
“I’m hungry” That was all the low vampire was able to mutter and he laughed hearing the reasoning
Sunghoon crouched down to level with the low vampire, never removing his foot.
“Then you find an alternative. You don’t go for someone you know you can never touch” His tone was cold, his words getting harsher and harsher than the previous one
“I’m sorry” He hummed happily as he took off his foot from the low vampire, who gasped for air
“Good, now go somewhere else to hunt” The low vampire only coughed and ran away from Sunghoon who stayed in the dark alley
He sighed heavily feeling exhausted, he dusted off his clothes and straighten them out before walking out the dark alley.
It was as if a flip switched inside of him as he replaced the scowl with a stoic face. His strides were prideful, he was an aware of the power he held.
After all, he was the most powerful vampire in the area.
Today was another all nighter, you were stressing over exams you know you should’ve studied before hand. But you were a procrastinator and decided to push for things last minute in hopes to get them done.
You yawned as you finally finished the last piece of study material. The achievement of finally completing this almost felt rewarding, but the time frame in which it was done seemed like a punishment.
You saw the time and your heart nearly dropped seeing it was almost four am, you seemed to have lost track of time in general. You were quick to collect your belongings before walking out of the library to head back home.
Yet, before you continued walking, you stopped for a moment. You pondered on a thought or rather a conversation and Sunghoon’s name seemed to be lingering in your head.
You took out your phone and went to his contact (which you never deleted), you pondered whether calling him or not. But you shook your head and put your phone away, you just assumed he was being nice. He didn’t mean his words for you to call him whenever you have to walk alone.
You were going to venture on back to your home and you could feel the drowsiness slowly take over, your eyelids felt heavy and you found yourself yawning every now and then. This was the last time you ever procrastinated studying for your exams.
You didn’t even make it ten feet away from the library until you felt your life flash before your eyes.
“Boo” Your scream could’ve awaken the whole world up with how loud it was, you could hear the groaning from behind you causing you to whip your head
When you see Sunghoon holding his ear from your scream, you felt a sense of relief seeing it was only him before it being replaced with anger.
“Sunghoon what the hell are you doing?” He made it seem like he was trying to regain his hearing and after a few moments of silence he finally looked at you
“You aren’t the only one cramming in studies for exams” He muttered as he straightened out his posture, he should’ve expected this reaction but thinking about it he didn’t mind
Today Sunghoon was longing for you deeply today and he didn’t know what caused this emotion to erupt in him. Maybe it was talking to you that caused him to miss the So he decided to drown himself in studies for the upcoming exams, which he knew he would ace with no problem.
He didn’t want to indulge in the desire for you, he wanted to keep his distance from you but he also wanted to keep an eye on you from afar.
When he decided to leave the library that’s when he saw you walking and yawning with each step you take. He wasn’t one to smile in public, but he couldn’t help himself when he saw you.
“But so late at night?” You tilted your head but soon you realized you were one to talk, so you quickly raised your hand for him not to say anything
“Let’s go” Sunghoon moved his head forwards as he took steps ahead of you, you looked at him with confusion and he could practically feel it oozing out of you
“I told you, you’ll never have to walk alone as long as I’m here” His words were smooth but rough like ice, you could feel the shiver in your body as he turned around to look at you
Under the moonlit sidewalk, your heart felt a churn and you were quite sure if it was a warning or a sign. You gulped down nervously before taking steps to pass Sunghoon. He smirked at your actions and followed to catch up to you.
The walk was quiet, it was awkward but rather you were too tired to maintain any conversation with him. He respected that and kept his mouth shut, as long as he was able to be by your side that more than enough.
Distant howls could be heard and you looked to left where there was a forest, Sunghoon stopped walking when he noticed your gaze.
“Dogs” He muttered and when you turned to face him, he puckered his lips ushering you to keep walking, you tiredly rolled your eyes and continued walking
Sunghoon took the chance to look towards the forest himself, before clenching his jaw lightly and walking back towards you.
The moment you crashed onto your bed, your eyes were quick to shut as you fell into the abyss of sleep.
You groaned when feeling the sunlight hit your face. You groggily opened your eyes as they tried to adjust to the surrounding and once it sunk into where you were, your eyes were wide open.
You looked around to see a grass meadow, you laid up against a tree with the leaves and branches covering you. Your breathing became heavy with no recognition of where you were.
“Oh you’re awake” The voice you knew all too well, you’d just heard it a few hours ago
When you turned to face Sunghoon, you were ready to start questioning him but you stopped when actually seeing him.
His gaze looked softer, the warm smile on his face contrasted when you last saw him. When he noticed your expression, you see the worry take over. He slowly walked over to you and just when he was close enough, you saw the necklace he wore.
You could see the first letter of your name dangling in the middle as he got closer to you.
“Are you okay?” The tone made your heart melt and you didn’t understand why but you weren’t able to respond, you could only simply look at him
No matter how hard you tried to speak with up, it was like your mouth was shut and you couldn’t say a word. When he cupped your cheek, you flinched lightly at the warmth of him. He retracted his hands for a moment before hesitantly resting it back onto your cheek.
He examined your face and when he noticed there seemed to be no sign of injury, he sighed before looking into your eyes.
The way he looked into your eyes felt different, it didn’t feel like the usual times he looked at you. He smiled softly before taking a seat next to you.
He intertwined your hands together and it made you shocked at how perfectly your hands fitted with one another. He rested his head onto your shoulder while rubbing his thumb on your hand.
“Let’s rest a little more mhm?” His tired voice seemed to have put you under a trance because before you knew it your eyes became droopy and soon you drifted off to sleep once again
Your eyes fluttered opened and you expected to be in the same location but when you noticed you were back in your room, that was enough to make you sit up.
Your breathing became uneven as you looked around your surroundings, the throbbing of your head didn’t help ease your nerves.
You wondered why you dreamt about Sunghoon and why the hell it felt so real.
As Sunghoon walked around campus, there was a slight bounce to his steps. His face still stoic but the steps he took seemed happier than usual, well he was happier.
Walking home with you last night felt like a fever dream. Even though, you two didn’t talk much, it was still enough for him to remind him.
He shouldn’t interfere, he knew that better than anyone else. But he’s waited months, years, decades to see you again. Upon meeting you again, he couldn’t help but inch closer and closer to you.
He wondered if you were to remember him, would you come back to him or would you run away in fear of what he’s become.
He shook his head, clearing it of those thoughts. He has an exam to ace, he couldn’t think of those things.
The vacation you anticipated was finally here. You walked out, stretching of your limbs freely. You felt exhausted but were more glad that the exams you dreaded were finally over. Now you were able to rest comfortably and not stress.
You were going to head home when you saw someone walking up to you. You looked and you could feel the racing of your heart, when Sunghoon came into your vision.
His gaze was cold but that’s how his gaze was. But the flash of the warmth gaze from the Sunghoon of your dreams, made you cough awkwardly.
As he stood in front of you, you could see the noticing gazes of people passing by. The short whispers wondering if the two of you were getting closer with each other.
“What?” You asked and you could see the faint scoff of a smile on his face before going back to his stoic face
“Heading home?”
“After a long day of exams, I think I will be” Your remarked would have made him chuckle if it was just the two of you, but in public he nodded his head
“Let’s go then” He tilted his head and you knew it meant he was walking you home again
“You know, you don’t have to. You can head home” You offered as Sunghoon was already walking ahead of you, he shook his head and continued walking
“I know I don’t have to, but I want to. There’s a difference” The glance he takes over his shoulder to look at you made your heart stop
You gnawed at your lips before sighing and walking behind Sunghoon, when he noticed he slowed down his pace to have you ahead of him.
You didn’t even seem to realize his actions, the two of simply slipped into a comfort of silence. Sunghoon wanted to savor this moment, he knew he shouldn’t be doing this but last time he checked he didn’t care.
It was you. For you, he will be willing to do anything if it meant being in your presence. He did it once, he wouldn’t be afraid to do it again.
When Sunghoon reached his house, it was already dark. He placed his belongings down and landed onto his couch, he wasn’t tired not exhausted, he just needed a breather.
That was until you filled his mind. He found himself finally releasing the smile he’s yet to show you, when the time is right. The moments may be small but to him, they mean the absolute world.
He rested an arm behind his head, the thoughts and memories that filled him were nothing but bittersweet. The smiles and laughter he once created for you rested in his dull non-beating heart. He remembered as if it were yesterday when he once had you in his arms without a care in the world.
He remembers when the two of you were once madly in love with each other.
That was until you were stripped away from him. He lost all sense of reality, the night he lost you. It was nothing but bitter and rage, when you were found. He never forgave himself till this day, he thought, if he had just stayed with you, the two of you could’ve lived happily ever after together.
Yet, he was given an opportunity. Where he can meet you once again and watch over you to protect you for eternity. But the cost? His mortality.
But he didn’t care, as long as he was able to see you again. He would everything in his power.
During, the pouring down rain, him and the person who’d given the opportunity stood in the moonlight. This was the night where Sunghoon would meet his new profound fate.
The hallucinations given to him made tears well up in his eyes. He saw you in front of him, the same smile he adored. You simply walked over to him and rested a hand against his cheek, he melted into your touch as he moved his head to expose his neck even more.
“Bite me”
The words were faint and when the striking of the bite struck him, the illusion of you disappeared as well as his conscious. The next time he woke up, he could feel the agonizing sensation in his mouth, the sudden coldness of his skin and the unbearable pain in his neck with the creeping sensation of hunger.
He looked around the person was no where to be found, he was all alone in this world until he found you again. Then, it would be you and him in this world once again.
Sunghoon brought himself back and got up from his couch, he didn’t need to think about this anymore. He didn’t need to dwell on the past, he has you and he wouldn’t let harm go your way.
You broke night as you laid awake in your bed. You couldn’t seem to get the dream out of your head and you were fearful of what it could mean. There couldn’t be a possibility that you were falling for him, you’ve barely interacted with him.
You racked your brain, thinking it must be the gestures of walking you home. You settled on that thought but the more it sunk, the more it gnawed at your gut and it didn’t feel right.
You groaned and stared at your ceiling, you mumbled reassurance words to yourself and it was working until you heard the ringtone of your phone.
You grabbed your phone wondering who could be calling you at this hour but when you saw the contact, you nearly dropped your phone. You sat up straight against your headboard and looked at the call ringing.
What the hell was Sunghoon calling you at this hour? But before you could decided which course of action to take, the call disappeared and your lock screen showed one missed call from Sunghoon.
You decided to wait and see if he would try to call again but when you waited a few minutes, you didn’t receive anything. You thought it might have been a mistake, he didn’t mean to call you.
But as you rested your head against the pillow, you phone still at hand, you felt the urge to call him back. You weren’t going to give in and force yourself to sleep, but an eye always peeked open to check in case you get another other notification from Sunghoon.
When he realized what you doing, you gave up. You clicked onto his contact and called him, the line rang maybe once or twice but after the third ring, you heard his voice through your phone.
“What happened?” His voice was undeniably soft, you could practically feel the worry from the phone and the same thump against your chest happen
“Are you okay?” His asked again and you almost found your eyes closing shut from the comfort that took over
You hummed in the call as you made yourself comfortable in the bed.
“Sorry, it’s just that you called and I wondered what happened” You mumbled out and on the other line, Sunghoon almost felt his heart jump in glee
“I’m sorry, did it wake you?” You shook your head as if he could see you as you muttered no, he hummed at your answer and you almost said goodnight if he didn’t stop you
“You sound tired” You were, practically exhausted yet you couldn’t seem to sleep fall asleep but now on call with him you could feel the drowsiness take over
“Suddenly I am now” You yawned and you knew you were going to be out soon it’ll be best to end the call now
“Stay on the line” Your eyebrows furrowed hearing his suggestion, you scoffed and he heard that
He let out a soft chuckle but you managed to pick it up. You never heard him chuckle before and it sent a sensation to your chest.
“Why?”
“Just because” His reasoning almost made you laugh out but you simply rolled your eyes
“I don’t want to pay for a high phone bill” You told as you finger hovered over the ‘end call’ button but his next words made you stop
“I’ll pay for the expenses, so stay on the line” It was silent on your side, he waited for your response but when nothing he assumed you must have fallen asleep
And he was correct, you were fast asleep in your, phone in hand with Sunghoon on the other line. He chuckled to himself before resting his phone next to him.
“Goodnight…Love”
When you wake up, you notice you are in a bedroom just not yours. You got up from your bed and looked to your surroundings, it was another place you had no idea of. But the extricating pain in your head made you hold it and loudly groan, you heard rapid footsteps and in walked Sunghoon once again.
His gaze was filled with worry and he made his way over to you and laid you back in the bed.
“What are you doing up? Your fever hasn’t gone away” This Sunghoon was completely different from the one you know in reality
“Do you need anything?” His question had you melting in mere seconds and you had no clue why, you shook your head and looked around to your surrounding
“Where am I?” He looked at you confused and placed a hang on your cheek to check your temperature
You flinched once again and retracted his hands from you and sighed.
“You’re in your room and your fever still hasn’t passed so continue to rest okay? I’ll be outside if you need me” Sunghoon warmly smiled and was going to leave but you grabbed his wrist before he could leave
You didn’t know why you did that but you knew that you didn’t want to be alone in this moment. Regardless of not knowing him that well, Sunghoon was still a familiar face that you oddly felt comfortable around.
He smiled at your gestures and nodded his head. He took a seat on the floor next to your bed and intertwined your hands together. He rested his head against the bed in order to face you with a smile, you could feel the beating of your heart.
“What if you get sick too?” You mumbled and he practically scoffed at your words
“Then, we’ll just be sick together right love?”
You woke instantly back in your room and you could still practically feel the thumping of your heart against your chest. Your uneven breathing made you lightheaded, you don’t know what jolted you awake. Whether it was the sunlight shinning into your room or the mere mention of ‘love’ falling from Sunghoon’s lips.
All you know is this cannot go on any longer. You needed to figure out why you were startling to have these dreams about Sunghoon.
When you went to go pick up your phone from where you usually put it, you noticed it wasn’t there. You freeze before searching everywhere for it.
“Crap where the hell is my phone?” You muttered and then you hear the call out of your name, now you think you’re going crazy
You looked around still hearing the calls of your name and you tried your best to hear where it’s coming from. When you realized it was coming from your bed, you went over and moved your sheets around until you found your phone.
Your eyes were wide when you see the ongoing call of nine hours with Sunghoon who was still calling out to your name.
“Why didn’t you hang up once I fell asleep?” You asked Sunghoon and you heard the sigh of relief he let out
“Well good morning to you too” You scoffed before ushering him to answer the question
“Just because” Your eye nearly twitched in annoyance hearing the same answer he gave you last night
“You better pay for the expenses Sunghoon” You told and the chuckle that filled your ears made you look at your phone to make sure you were still talking to Sunghoon
“I already told you, I will so don’t worry” The prideful smirk was livid in your mind and that was enough for you to hang up the call with a final goodbye
Sunghoon: Let’s do it again tonight
You rolled your eyes at his message, to hell you would do it again.
You: Whatever
As Sunghoon was relaxing on his couch, the excitement of tonight keeping him up and energized. He knew the chances were slim that you would actually call or even answer his call, but he can have false hope couldn’t he?
He was going to watch a movie to kill time but when a letter was slipped under his front door, he froze. He knew of only one person that would do such a thing. He clenched his jaw and picked up the letter before ripping it open, he knew it was bound to happen but he still wanted more time.
‘I’ve seen you’ve gotten comfortable’
It was a simple sentence and it was more than enough to have him rip it up into pieces and throw it in the garbage. He landed onto the couch again, hand in hair, frustrated.
The person who turned him now mocks him in pity. There was a secret price to pay other than having his morality taken, in order for you and Sunghoon to live happily ever after.
You would need to willingly let yourself get bitten by Sunghoon. If you don’t, your unknowingly continuous fate will keep happening until you finally let him bite you. Sunghoon didn’t experience fear, but this was his biggest fear.
He didn’t want you to experience what previously happened to you, he would never be able to move on if he had to witness losing you all over again. But he didn’t want to strip you from your mortality just for a selfish desire of his.
You were his main priority and he will fulfill his destiny in protecting you for eternity.
The realization you had late at night is that for some reason, you cannot get a good night of sleep regardless of how exhausted you are unless you’ve talked to Sunghoon.
Now, you didn’t like this observation. You were able to rest before but now that he was starting to squeeze and meddle into your life, you can’t seem to keep your eyes shut.
It was already three in the morning and you weren’t going to call Sunghoon. You won’t give in, you’ll force yourself to fall asleep if you have to.
You brought the sheets closer and shuffled in your bed and closed your eyes. You were beyond comfortable and it should be enough to have you falling asleep.
Yet, when you woke up at five in the morning. The drowsiness was taking over you, you grew frustrated and you almost gave in. You had your phone in hand and all you needed to do was simply call him and you could get the sleep you’ve been longing for.
But you were stubborn. You threw your phone onto the nightstand, forcing yourself to go back to sleep. And with the success you were able to drift off into a proper sleep.
You finally thought you were getting rest but when you opened your eyes again, you were under the stars and moonlight. Your eyes looked around and you could see Sunghoon sleeping beside you, when you sat up, you noticed your hands that always seemed to be intertwined with each other.
Sunghoon shuffled around in his sleep before waking up. He saw you looking at him and he gave the smile you only see here, he sat up along with you.
“We must’ve fallen asleep, I hope we didn’t miss the meteor showers” And right when you were going to respond, in the corner of your eyes, you could see the falling stars passing you by
You were mesmerized, you had never experienced a meteor shower before. You were so emerged that you forgot about Sunghoon next to you, who didn’t even dare looking at the sky.
His gaze remained on you, seeing the glistening stars passing by through your eyes. He was mesmerized by you. His heart was pounding out of his chest, he had something important to tell you.
When he called out your name, you looked away from the sky and turned to face him. The loving smile he showcased made your heart thump into your chest.
“I love you”
You gasped as you woke up in the familiarity of your room. Your breathing being even more uneven than ever before, you felt like a weight was crushed onto you.
The simple three words were the now going to become the downfall of you. These dreams you’ve been experiencing had to have a meaning behind it, these weren’t dreams that come and go. They were constant and felt almost real, like you’ve experienced this before.
The solution? Going onto the internet and searching trying to figure out what these dreams could possibly mean. And after searching the web for a while, it always gave you same answer.
The reason why you were dreaming about Sunghoon constantly was because it was your subconscious mind telling you that he is important to you.
You felt confused, how could he be so important to you when you weren’t even important to him? You hummed trying to make sense of all of this, but hidden under all the confusion, was the warmth in your heart at the thought of him.
“You’re inviting me to your party?” You questioned through the phone, Sunghoon had called you just like how he always did
The progression of you answering his calls were slow but surely. The letter he received should’ve been the warning sign to not to close but he couldn’t help it anymore. You were here and he was going to protect you with the entirety of his life. He will make sure history never repeats itself.
“It’s not just a party, it’s my birthday party” You mentally rolled your eyes and he could feel it through the phone, he called you out but you denied
“It’s a personal invite, I would like for you to attend but you don’t have to if you don’t want to”
“I thought you didn’t interact with people” You questioned and you couldn’t hear the chuckle you were slowly getting used to when talking with him
“I don’t but every once in a while, it’s not so bad” You hummed and told him you’d ponder on the thought and to leave the information of the party
He hoped to see you at the birthday party, because if you were to show up. It would truly be the best birthday he’s had in such a long time.
You decided to go to the party, it wouldn’t hurt to just simply celebrate his birthday. When you arrived at the party, you didn’t expect it to be like this. Red color lights flashed through the house, the blaring song through the speakers, the crowds of people partying.
You expected it to be a rather small party considering Sunghoon doesn’t interact with many people, but seeing all the people in the house begged to differ.
You looked around in confusion as you pushed through the sea of people, you seemed lost until you found yourself in what seemed to be the living room. There were a few people sitting in the couch while others stood to converse with each other.
That’s when you found Sunghoon. He was talking with a group of people but the moment his eyes landed onto you, he brushed them off and went over to you.
You kindly smiled at him and you beyond surprise to see him give a light smile in return, normally he would wave or nod his head.
“You came” You were surprised you were able to hear his voice but you nodded your head and seemed to forget the gift bag you held
“You didn’t have to bring a gift” He motioned to the gift and you handed it to him before shrugging your shoulders
“It’s your birthday” He eagerly opened the bag and you found yourself trying to stop him but he managed to grab out the small box
“Oh come on, open it later” You muttered and the light smirk plastered on his was quick to leave before nodding his head and placing the box back in the bag
“Whatever you say” You rolled your eyes at him and just as the night started, Sunghoon stuck to your side like glue
Where you went, he was right next to you even though the party was hosted for him. Whenever people came up to him, he would greet them with a wave and thank them before turning his attention back onto you.
"Sunghoon this is your party, you have to enjoy it" You tried to usher him to talk to others who seemed to be waiting for him and his attention
“I am enjoying it, I’m with you” The same thumping in his chest made you blink rapidly for a moment, you still weren’t used to hearing those words leaving his mouth
Whenever he would say it on call, you could easily brush him off but in person, it was much harder to do so. When you looked to him, he still had his gaze on you.
“Sunghoon, we need to talk” You both looked to see a person grabbing him by the elbow and before he could even protest he was taken away
You could hear the faint ‘stay there’ and ‘I’ll be back’ from Sunghoon until he was out of your sight. You chuckled lightly and decided to focus on the party that still going on.
“What the hell are you doing? Why would you even invite her here?” He rolled his eyes at his friends words and shook the grasp off of him
“It’s my birthday, I can invite whoever the hell I want” His friend groaned seeing the control you had over him, he knew why Sunghoon was acting like this, he understood but he was also aware of the circumstances and consequences
“You better know what you’re doing, because already having her here is dangerous enough. Especially with the vampires and werewolves roaming around” His friend seethed through his teeth and Sunghoon was quick to shoot a glare
“No one will dare to go near her. Everyone knows better than to even try. But even so that’s why I need to get back to her”
“Keep the party active or shut it down, I don’t really care. I’m just going to be with her”
As you waited for his return, you could feel a gaze on you, you assumed it to be Sunghoon but when you turned to see a new face you raised an eyebrow.
When the person saw your face, you could see the color fade from his face. He tripped back on his feet as he stared at you with wide eyes, when he called out your name, you titled your head in confusion.
“I’m sorry do we know each other?” You could see the person gulped down before taking a step closer to you to examine your face
You stepped back to create some distant and you don’t know but it almost seemed like Sunghoon sensed your distress because he was quick to come to your side. Once he saw who it was, he was quick to grab your wrist and put you protectively behind him.
You were too caught up in the moment to feel the sensation of his ice cold hands around your wrist.
“Sunghoon” The wide-eyed person muttered, his eyes never leaving you
“I don’t think she knows you, so I suggest you leave” The tone was dangerously low, you could feel shivers run up your spine as the glare Sunghoon had in his eyes shocked you to the core
The person brought their hands up in defense and walked away. You could see the clench of Sunghoon’s jaw relax when the person was gone, he quickly faced you and it was the worry gaze that made you feel deja vu of the Sunghoon in your dreams.
“Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you right?” The change in his tone when it came to made your heart feel something you weren’t sure what it was
You shook your head and the shaky sigh of relief that came from him made your heart ache for some reason.
“Do you want to head upstairs? It’s much quieter over there and I can tell you don’t like this party” Sunghoon suggested and he wasn’t wrong, even though you were with him most of the night, your social battery was already gone
You nodded your head and offered his elbow for you to hold as he guided you upstairs but, you swatted it away before ushering him to take the lead. There was the same light smile on his face as he walked and you following behind him.
He still carried your gift in his hand and he was constantly checking to make sure you were still near him. When you were passing through the crowd of dancing people, you could feel the grip that wrapped around your wrist once again.
That was when you finally felt the cold sensation on your wrist again, when you pulled for a second Sunghoon immediately turned and looked around. You looked between him and his cold hands but you didn’t think much of it, you assumed he might have just been very cold.
You and Sunghoon were oblivious to the moment that happened as he was too caught up thinking you had pulled him because something had happened.
When he looked at you, you felt your heart drop before picking up in a face pace. You shook your head and he continued to guide you through and once you both had made it upstairs, a sense of relief washing over.
Sunghoon had brought you to what you assumed to his room, it was definitely spacious and there was few to nothing in his room. It was rather minimalistic that contradicted the size of his place.
You could practically hear the sigh of relief come from Sunghoon as he went over to rest on a chair in his room. You almost let out your giggle at his reaction, you knew parties weren’t his thing.
“Knew that you didn’t handle parties well” You told and for the first time in your reality, you saw the Park Sunghoon smile and chuckle at your words
Your eyes widen and you didn’t notice the stare you had on him until he awkwardly chuckled and shuffled in the chair and pointed you out on it.
“What is it something on my face?” He touched around his face, trying to dust off anything on it but you simply shook your head
“Oh no, it’s nothing don’t worry about it” You muttered and finally looked away from him and looked out the window that could perfectly show the moon and stars light up the dark night
You were suddenly brought back to the meteor shower you experienced in your dream. The loving gaze Sunghoon had for you, the intertwined hands, the mention of the three words.
Sunghoon seemed to notice the change in you as you looked at the moon and stars and for moment the flash in his memory made him looked at you. The longing in eyes pouring out of them, the gift that he once held now dropped onto the floor with a thud.
The thud was enough to knock you out of your daze and when you slowly turned to face him, you saw longing gaze on you.
He nervously gulped and you saw his eyes scanning your expression as you looked at him. You didn’t realize the teary eyes you had but Sunghoon did and he quickly got up from his chair and made his way over to you.
“What happened?” His voice was almost killingly soft, in that moment you couldn’t tell the difference between this Sunghoon and the one from your dream
They practically felt the same and you could feel the lump in your throat and the uneven breathing start to come back. The single tear drop that fell from your eyes was quickly wiped away by Sunghoon.
You blinked your eyes repeatedly feeling the cold sensation against your cheek from Sunghoon’s hand. You made a mental note to get him gloves to make sure his hands don’t freeze anymore.
His tense smile as he retracted his hand after wiping your tear. You could hear the shake in his breath and neither of you still realized just how closer you were.
Sunghoon’s mind ran wild. He remembered every memory he had with you, that would include seeing the meteor shower with you and it being the first time he told you, he loved you.
So seeing you stare outside and feel the shift in emotions made a slip of hope linger in his non-beating heart. Did you possibly remember? When you awkwardly coughed and wiped your eyes to get rid of the teariness look, he knew you didn’t.
It was just the spur of the moment that shook your heart. He took a few steps back before wandering his eyes around the room, the awkwardness that filled the both you was becoming unbearable.
So when he remembered about your gift, he quickly went back to where he dropped it and went to pick it up. When your gaze followed him and saw him picking it up, you felt the pounding of your heart.
“No don’t open it now” You felt embarrassed having him open the gift you got him in front of you, but the warm smile he had made you forget everything
As he softly opened the present, his eyes landed on what was inside of it, his heart dropped which he didn’t even know was possible considering his situation. He gently picked up the necklace and could the ‘S’ that dangled from it.
It was the same exact one you once gave him back then but instead of having your letter, it had his. His eyes trailed to you and you could see the teary look he had in his eyes.
You were so confused but when he suddenly got up and hugged you, you felt your body freeze. The soft sniffling that came from him, ached your heart terribly. He held you tightly as if he was afraid if he let go, he would lose you forever. You hesitantly wrapped your arms around and him to help ease his nerves that seemed to be going haywire.
After a while, he seemed to realize the situation and immediately peeled himself off of you, he quickly looked away and wiped the tears and then cleared his throat.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me”
Lies. He knew exactly what came over him, it was the love he had for that rose from the hidden corner of his still heart.
“Are you okay?” Your worried voice soft on his ears that he felt like no time had passed between the two of you, his smile was bright and it did something to your heart making it flip over and over again
He nodded his head before taking a seat back into the chair, he looked at you and unhooked the necklace trying to put it on. But as he kept failing miserably, you chuckled before making your way over to him.
“May I?” When he looked at you, he got deja vu
He couldn’t put on the necklace back then and he still couldn’t put it on till this day. And you had to come to his rescue and help him. He smiled and handed you the necklace, when you gently picked it up and placed it around his neck, making sure the ‘S’ dangled properly.
When you clipped the necklace, his hand unconsciously went to touch it and looked down onto it. His warm smile never leaving his face as he simply admired the necklace.
“For some reason, I thought of you when I saw it and I realized it’d be a perfect gift” You muttered and when his gaze shifted to you, still holding the necklace in his grasp he smiled
“I love it. I’ll cherish it for an eternity” His words felt like it held truth to it, your heart fluttered in your chest as you openly smiled at him and simply nodded your head
“I’ll hold you to your words, make sure to keep it” You could see his fingers crossing over his heart and you rolled your eyes
“Cross my heart”
You groggily opened your eyes and took a deep breath. When you saw the surrounding, you sat up with haste. You were in a bed but you recognized to still be in Sunghoon’s room yet there was no trace of him.
Your recollection of what happened finally came to you and you let out a sigh of relief. You remember mentioning to Sunghoon that you were feeling somewhat tired and he offered to take you back to your place.
But you rejected as this was his birthday party after all, you wouldn’t possible let him walk you home and take him away from the party. The amount of times he reassured you, he didn’t care if left the party was uncountable.
Yet, you still told him you would be fine but when he suggested an alternative which was that you rest in here until the party was over and he would take you home.
You didn’t reject the offer and you had to admit that sleep must’ve been the best sleep you’ve gotten in ages. You felt energized and relaxed as if you could take on anything that was thrown your way.
Your theory that you slept better whenever you talked with him seemed to be true. You noticed the blaring music that once played was now long gone, you could hear a few voices talking through the silence.
You got up from the bed and slowly grabbed your shoes that were neatly set next to the bed. When you put them on, you went out of the room and tried to look for Sunghoon.
When the voice of Sunghoon filled your ears, you made your way downstairs but your footsteps seemed to have been picked up. When you reached halfway through the staircase, you looked and there stood Sunghoon and a few other people you’ve seen around campus.
Your beating heart soon stopped and dropped to the pit of your stomach. Your uneven breathing was the only thing heard throughout the silence of the house, you could see Sunghoon’s wide eyed expression as he saw you.
His fangs were openly exposed as he and another person held a tight grasp on each other. You recognized the person to be the one who approached you when Sunghoon was away. The person’s hand or you would saw claw was raised ready to attack Sunghoon.
“Y-you’re awake?” Sunghoon’s voice was fearful as he soon let go of the person’s collar, his eyes that were once brown are now blood red looked at you, his fangs popping through with the two words he spoke
He hesitantly walked over to the staircase but you stumbled backwards as you tried to step back and get distant between the two of you. Sunghoon froze and felt his the cracking and shatter of his heart, he swore if it was still beating, it would have stopped in this moment.
Your eyes tried to analyze the situation, the claw of the person who stood still looking at you, the fangs and red eyes of Sunghoon. It was enough for the tension to rise even higher. The fear that set the atmosphere was suffocating, you felt you were losing your mind.
You quickly got up from the staircase and rushed down as fast as you could. The calls of your name coming from Sunghoon would have normally made your heart beat faster but it only made your stomach churn.
You rushed out the house and ran as fast as you could. The burning of your lungs made you want to stop but you couldn’t seem to. You ran until you made it to the safety of your home before locking your door shut.
Your breathing was heavy as you rested against your front door. You tried your best to make sense of the situation but whatever logical sense you tried to piece with it didn’t make any sense.
Sunghoon’s red blood eyes, his fangs that were so prominent, the ice cold feeling of his skin.
You slid down against the door as you looked into oblivion. This whole time you didn’t believe in mystical creatures, yet, they existed and you even brefriend one.
To hell, you ended up falling for a damn vampire. You didn’t want to believe the realization that settled in your heart.
You should’ve know that it was strange how Sunghoon started to wiggle into your life like nothing after finding you that night. You thought you were smart but he made you look so damn naive.
“Sunghoon…” His friend tried to come up to him but he was quick to shove him away as he fretted with too many emotions in him
“Fuck” He mumbled under his breath and when he could see the person who approached you come near him, his anger took over
“Sunghoon no!” He was losing rationality in his mind, your fearful expression as you looked at him clouded his mind
“What is stopping me from sucking my damn teeth into you? Huh?” He asked the person in his grasp and he looked at Sunghoon with pity in his eyes
“Don’t look at me with those damn eyes, you tried to justify your actions years ago and I never forgave you. What made you think it was okay to show up to my party? To even think about approaching her” Sunghoon seethed through his fangs
“I told you I live with regret every single day for decades for what I did to her!”
“Seeing her again, erupted the emotions in me again and I couldn’t just believe she was right there before my eyes” The person yelled and tried to get out of Sunghoon’s grasp but he didn’t let go, his grasp only grew tighter
“She didn’t deserve it, you took her away” Sunghoon spoke the truth, the person in his grasp was the reason why you were taken so soon
He was the person who made him take the decision in giving his mortality in order to wait and protect you for eternity. Sunghoon wanted to protect you from ever experiencing history again.
“I didn’t mean to do it” The person’s voice softened and Sunghoon shook his head, he was losing it
“But you did it. You can’t and you won’t take her away again, I will never allow you. For eternity, she is under my protection”
When you opened your eyes, you realized you were in the darkness of a living room. Even though the room had a feel a familiarity to it, you had no idea where you were. The setting was rather eerie and the make matters worse, you seemed to be by yourself.
You could the nerves settling in your heart and you could feel the uncomfortable pounding of your heart against your chest. Something wasn’t right.
When you heard a phone, you looked to your side and once you saw the contact and your heart dropped. The contact that displayed as the call continued made your senses become overwhelmed.
‘Sunghoon <3’
He was calling you and as your hand hesitantly picked it up your phone and answer the call, you were suddenly met with darkness. The grasp you once had on your phone fell in the process.
Sunghoon called out to you multiple times and when he got no response he could feel his gut twist with unease. When the call hung up on its own, that was more than enough for him to know something wasn’t right.
Sunghoon kept calling and texting your phone for you to respond. He was frantic as he rushed over to your house and just when he was a block away, you could see and hear the sirens.
His heart dropped as his mind raced with thoughts, he prayed for you to be okay. As he rushed over, he was stopped by people and he tried to push them away trying to get to you once he realized the sirens were directly at your place.
The people around started crying and wailed to him when they realized he had arrived. He tried to decipher the words leaving their mouth. But when he did, his world came hurling down to crash.
His eyes went over to your place with wide eyes as they soon begin to fill with tears. He felt the life drain out of him. You were found in your house after a neighbor complained about the noise from your place. His once happy beating heart now shattered at the realization that you were gone.
Park Sunghoon lost you and soon enough he lost himself.
You woke up on your couch with a harsh gasp, your eyelids puffy and heavy from all the crying you did earlier that day. You tried to recollect the dream (if you could even call it that) you experienced.
Soon, a raging headache came crashing down and you held your head in agony. You were breathing heavily trying to calm your nerves but the headache only became worse.
You were witnessing memories flashing before your eyes. Memories you had never experienced before and seen ever your life. Emotions you didn’t even know that could rest in your heart, now rose to the surface.
You were oblivious to the soft knocking on your front door. As you now groaned in pain of the headache and heartache you were experiencing.
Flashes of you and Sunghoon together caught your attention. It was the Sunghoon that you saw from your “dreams” and now it was supposed to be reality.
The dreams you experienced were memories from who knows where. Your eyes looked around trying to make sense of what was happening, the ringing in your eyes didn’t help in the slightest.
You were feeling numb to everything around that you the soft knocks on your door were now becoming banging against it.
The ringing of your doorbell was drowned out by the last memory to flash in your mind. The breath you let out was short and came out as a shutter, the tears spilling from your eyes.
Your door was suddenly burst opened and in walked a worried and heaving Sunghoon. Your eyes shot to him and you could feel the breath get knocked out of you. You stared agape at him.
Sunghoon knew he shouldn’t have done that but when you weren’t responding to your phone and now weren’t answer your door, fear settled into his heart.
The fear that he failed his sole purpose in life again.
But as he scanned around your place and saw you on the coach staring at him, your tears staining your face and the heaviness of your breathing. His heart broke at the scene.
You were quick to stumble over your feet and made your way over to him. Sunghoon expected for you to push him, punch him, yell at him, practically let out all of your emotions onto him.
But when you tightly hugged him, he was shocked. He didn’t expect this. But when you cried against him and hearing your cries made his heart drop, he was quick to hug you back to soothe you.
He whispered sweet nothings into your ears in order to help you but it only seemed to make it worse. Your hold on him only got tighter with each word told to you.
The mumbles of his name coming from your mouth made it seem like you were calling out to him even though he was right in front of you.
“What did you do to yourself?” When you ripped yourself away from Sunghoon to look at his eyes with your teary ones he looked at you in pure confusion
“My hoonie” The nickname that left your mouth made his knees weak and give out on him, he tumbled to the ground as he felt like he couldn’t breathe
“What did you say?” He muttered not believing his ears, he believed none of this was real, that his mind was simply playing tricks on him
The shaky smile that formed on your face made Sunghoon realize everything. His shaky hands hovered over your cheek as his own tears filled his eyes.
He shook his head not believing it but when his cold hands touched the warmth of your cheek, he knew this was all real. It came crashing down onto him and the smile he showed was enough to have you crying again.
Sunghoon brought you into his embrace as the two of cried in each other’s arms.
“You’re such an idiot. I would’ve found you. You didn’t have to turn into a vampire” Sunghoon’s chuckle vibrated throughout your bedroom as he had an arm around you
He finally told you everything from the day you left him till now. It was a lot to catch up but you were more than happy to hear him and to simply be in his presence. But you were upset to know he gave his mortality in the process.
“I wanted to wait for you, and I’m glad I did. It was the best decision I ever made” Your scoff was enough for the smile on Sunghoon’s face to get brighter, you remember rarely seeing his smile but now it seems like an automatic with you
As he shuffled around your bed, you didn’t fail to notice the bracelet on his wrist. You softly held his wrist, the coldness that once made you question him no longer phased you.
Sunghoon was surprised but when he saw looking at his wrist, he let you admire it.
“You kept it after all this time” Your voice was soft as you examined the necklace now turned bracelet with the first letter of your name in the middle
“Of course. It’s one of the three most prized possession of mine”
“What’s your other two?” Sunghoon grabbed onto the necklace you gave for his birthday
“This and you” His last word made your heart flutter against your chest and you proudly to accept it
You were bound to accept Sunghoon into your heart, so there was nothing other than to allow him into your life just like how he once was in.
While for Sunghoon, he was beyond over the moon. He swore his still heart fluttered against his chest as he looked at you and had you in his presences again.
“You know, what I noticed” This perked his interest and raised an eyebrow towards you
“You still have the habit of holding my hand” You lifted the intertwined hands and you could find Sunghoon coughing awkwardly
He tried to let go of your head and gave him a confused look as you still held tightly onto his head.
“I just pointed it out, doesn’t mean I don’t like it” You giggled and Sunghoon was quick to lay beside you once again
“I’ve missed you so much” He muttered and you contently sighed, you were pleased, happy that this was how your life is
“I’m sorry it took me so long” You apologized and Sunghoon was quick to shake his head, he rubbed his thumbs against your hand in comfort
“Doesn’t matter how long it is, I will always wait for you”
It was inevitable that you and Sunghoon naturally became closer. Everyday he was at your home from early in the morning to late at night, there were times where you had to kick him out but he didn’t want to leave.
So he ended up sleeping on your coach and you would wake up to hear your fire alarm going on. You would quickly rush to see what’s going on, only to find Sunghoon with burnt food on a plate.
He would cheekily smile and tell you breakfast is served. The efforts made your heart warm but the execution still needed a little more work.
As you and Sunghoon watched a movie, you excused yourself for a moment. While you were away, he paused the movie and waited for your return.
But when a letter slipped under your front door, his eyes widen. He quickly got up from your couch and hastily grabbed the letter and ripped it open.
‘Tic Toc’
Sunghoon crumbled the paper before shoving it into his pocket. When he sat back down onto the couch, his leg bounced, his eyes scanning the area.
He was too caught up in the moment that he seemed to have forgotten the hidden truth of reality. He was beginning to grow anxious and frustrated, his flipped his hair backwards in order to help himself calm down but it wasn’t working.
When he checked the date on his phone, he could the lump in his throat. That’s why the letter was sent, it was one week from now where Sunghoon would have to make his decision.
Whether to allow you to face your unwritten fate or for you to allow him to bite you. Neither of which he wanted to do but there didn’t seem to be an inbetween.
But there had to be a way in order for you to beat your fate, for you to live. And he was going to try everything in his power in order to make sure you did. Regardless of what needed to be done, if it meant having you stay.
Sunghoon will be prepared to give up everything just for you.
“No Sunghoon, are you crazy?” Indeed he was, it was t-minus three days until the choice had to be made and he’s been working in search of another ultimatum
And in which he did find one, but it involved a route he wasn’t sure how it would unfold. Yet, he was willing to do it however his friends beg to differ.
“You need to think this thoroughly. How do you know there won’t be another variable involved once it’s too late” His friend tried to reason with him but he simply shook his head
“There can’t be. It’s a soul giving up its entirety. It’s either fair or fair”
“Sunghoon in case you forgot, you’re already non-living. You truly believe you will be chosen over her?” His friend’s word held truth but at the same time his reasoning was the only way
“I’ll make sure I am” Sunghoon was determined, he’s always had been and he will always be
He did tell himself, for eternity you will be under his sworn protection. If he had to give up everything in order for you stay, he will do it in a heartbeat.
The wager involved instead of you having to face either of the consequences in which you weren’t even aware of. Sunghoon would replace you, he would replace his fate for yours.
But in doing so, he and you will seize to forget about each other. Only time could tell whether your paths would ever cross again.
It was a painful reality for him but this was the love a vampire had for a human being.
Today was the day. Sunghoon had wanted to spend his last day with you in happiness. He wanted for you to remember the remaining moments of him in your memories to be happy rather than sad.
So he had decided to create a special day, which he called ‘the anniversary’. It was corny but you didn’t mind at all, rather you found it endearing. Under all the facade he tried to put up, he was still the same Sunghoon you once fell in love with decades ago.
The day the two of you went to an open field. It would only be the two of you, just like how it used to be. It made you happy to know that after all this time separated from each other, you both were still the same.
With the fresh pile of snow that rested on the ground made the day seem nearly close to perfect. Even though, the cold didn’t bother him in the slightest, he still pretend to be affected by when you threw snow at him.
It was just the way you smiled brightly in success of ‘getting him’ that made him keep up the act, just to hear your laughter.
But when the snow softly grazed your skin, you were quick to shutter from the coldness and you always glared at Sunghoon when he dared to laugh and mock your reaction.
As you and Sunghoon walked the area, you didn’t realize the pictures he was taking of the scenery with you in it. It was only when you turned around at the call of your name is when you noticed the picture he took.
You groaned and motioned for him to delete but once it was on his phone, it will forever stay there. Your attempts in trying to get the photo deleted were in vain. You given up knowing Sunghoon was just as stubborn as you were.
So to make it fair, you secretly took a photo of him admiring the scenery. Yet, the photo was perfect. He was looking at the sunsets, his back faced towards you but you were still able to get a slight angle of his side profile.
“The sunset is beautiful, isn’t it?” You finally looked up from the picture you took to admire it and he wasn’t wrong
The sky was casted with a pink and orange tone that melted into each other. When you were beside him, Sunghoon was quick to intertwine your hands together. The coldness you felt against your warmth reminded you of the reality. He was a vampire and you were a human, but you didn’t care.
He was Park Sunghoon at the end of the day. He was the one you will forever love, regardless of what’s to come. You would put up with anything in order for him to always be with you.
The comfortable silence that rested between the two of made Sunghoon forget the day. That was until he felt a striking pain in his abdomen, causing him to lose his balance.
His hand still held yours as his free one rested above where the pain was settling.
“Sunghoon what’s going? Are you okay?” Your worried tone made him feel upset, but he tried to remain as positive as he could, he needed to for you
“I’m fine. I just need to rest” He muttered before letting his body fully collapse to the ground, you were quick to catch him into your arms
“No you’re not fine!” You stated the obvious and you were quick to wrap his arm around your shoulder, you needed to get back as soon as possible
“I’m doing this for you” His statement made you freeze and you faced him with hesitating eyes
“What did you do..?” You muttered as the same uneasy feeling settled into your gut
“Made sure you got to live” Sunghoon’s weak smile was all you needed before tears welled up in your eyes
“God damn it Park Sunghoon, what the hell did you do?!” Sunghoon’s hands cupped your cheek before brushing away the unknowing falling tears from your eyes
“It’s better me than you, I wouldn’t be able to bear knowing that I lost you all over again”
“But I have to bear losing you? How is this fair?”
“Because you won’t remember” When you heard his justifying answer, your heart stopped as you stared at him
“What do you mean I won’t remember?” Sunghoon smiled warmly before creasing your cheek with his ice cold hands, everytime he felt your warmth he could feel his own body on fire
“In order for us to have this dreading “happily ever after” you’ve needed to allow me to bite you and if not, you would have to face your fate of being taken away again”
“But luckily I found an alternative, in where you get to live with no worries”
“I promised to always protect you no matter where I am, so I was always be by your side” His weak chuckle made your grow frustrated at him
“That’s not the same, I need to have you here with me. I’ll have to live without you and I know I can’t experience that again”
“Bite me Sunghoon” His eyes widen and weakly shook his head no, over his dead body would he ever bite you and strip you away from your very mortality
“I’m allowing you to bite me, so do it!” Your tears stained your face as you showed your neck to Sunghoon, you rather be a vampire with him and spend eternity with him than having to experience losing him
“I love you”
The three words made you feel like sobbing. It didn’t feel like how ‘I love you’ should feel like, rather it felt like a goodbye. It felt like you and Sunghoon were saying goodbye to your eternal love.
“Don’t say that to me now Sunghoon. Tell me that later okay?” You mumbled through a sad chuckle and you could see the little efforts he tried to sit up
You helped him sit up and with the little strength he had left, he brought you into his arms. You could feel your sobs slowly let out as you wrapped your arms tightly around him.
“I love you. I’ll always love you”
“For the rest of eternity, I will always love you. I promise to find you again” You sobbed against him as you nodded your head at his words
“I love you too, so please don’t go” You mumbled, you knew it was too late but you still had a shiver of hope that your wishes would be answered
“Bye bye… My love” Sunghoon faint voice filled your ears and before you knew it, his arm that once wrapped around you fell, and be was gone right before your eyes
As you looked to where Sunghoon once was, you could see the necklace and bracelet he wore laid in front of you. You chocked out a sob as you shakily picked up the jewelry. You brought it to your heart as the tears fell from your eyes never seemed to stop.
You cried were loud, you looked around hoping for Sunghoon to appear in front of you just like he always does.
But when there was no sign of him other than the jewelry in your hands, you completely utterly broke. You started sobbing loudly, no longer caring if anyone could even hear you. The hiccups that rippled out of you filled the open land, you covered your mouth trying to muffle your sobs but it only made them louder.
You shook your head rigidly, you couldn’t admit it.
“Bring him back to me” You mumbled into your hands as you hoped the universe would possibly hear your desires and bring him back to you
Why couldn’t he simply bite you? If you were able to spend eternity with him, you would be the happiest person alive. So why didn’t he just bite you?
Your body shook from all the crying but soon it stopped. You pulled your hands away from your face and saw the tears that covered them. You were confused and looked at your surrounding trying to piece where you were.
You touched your face to feel the wetness from your tears. You began to wipe your face rid of the tears and that’s when you noticed the jewelry that dangled from your hands. You saw the necklace that had a ‘S’ dangling from it while the bracelet had your letter on it.
You tried to think as hard as you could but you didn’t know anyone with the letter ‘S’ in their name. You were even more confused on why you were crying and where you were.
You don’t remember coming out all this way and that worried you, you pulled out your phone and that’s was when you saw a photo you don’t even remember taking.
It was of the sunset that still painted the sky but there was a person in the frame. You couldn’t see their face but only see the side of it, who was this? You looked around trying to find anyone near by but there didn’t seem to be any
You looked back at the picture and seemed drawn to it. The scenery is just stunning and you couldn’t seem to get your mind off of it.
“The sunset is beautiful, isn’t it?” You muttered not knowing who you were speaking for
This was the happily ever after that resides in you and Sunghoon’s fate. The fate of a fated love between a vampire and human.
Unknown when the paths would cross again or if they even will cross again. It seems to be a play of chance in whether you and Sunghoon could meet again.
And possibly fulfill the happily ever after you both will always long for eternity.
As you rushed to your class, you could only hope to make it on time. You parents were going to beyond furious if you were late to class again. You could feel the burn in your lungs as you ran but that didn’t stop you, until you rushed into class.
Your friends immediately dragged you to the desk and just as you sat down the bell rang. You heaved in relief before laying your head down onto your desk.
You could hear the classroom door open but you didn’t dare to lift your head, already too exhausted in trying to make it to class on time. You could hear the murmurs from your classmate but it didn’t peak your interest.
That was until you heard the mention of your name to which you shot up from your desk and acted like you were paying attention. You were trying to register what was going on but once you realized there was already a person taking a seat next to you.
All eyes were on the two of you and when you looked to your side, you saw a face you have never seen before. You examined the face and the person seemed to have noticed because he turned his gaze onto you.
“Do I have something on my face?” He asked as he touched his face but you merely shook your head and focused your attention to the teacher
You could hear the light chuckle beside you until you heard a light tapping on your desk. When you look down, you saw a note being slid onto your desk, you look to see the person next to you smile briefly at you before looking to the front of the class.
