DARREN CRISS as RAYMOND AINSLEY in HOLLYWOOD
ok i know the show was not perfect but can we talk about all the amazing things they put on our screens?? gay men in love. an abusive man held accountable & not forgiven despite having apologized. the struggle of pocs. two women who did not fight each other but instead helped each other. middle-aged women w an active role & not just the wise/crazy grandmas. a happy couple w no drama !! an unhappy couple that don’t fight but accept they’re not right for each other. a black woman standing up for herself. a jewish woman standing up for herself. men realizing that bc they have all the power, they can help women get to the top !! ppl in power taking chances & giving a voice to those who are silenced by society. a black gay man and a white gay man standing up for themselves. interracial couples. aknowledgement of mixed pocs. just....... it was Good ok

HOLLYWOOD (Netflix, 2020—)
I know this might get lost in all the queerness and racial themes of hollywood, but I really loved the romantic plot lines with the older cast members. I don’t remember the last time I saw someone over 40 in a film having a meaningful love story, and it was just refreshing.
HOLLYWOOD (2020)
Ok but the intro to Hollywood with all the characters struggling to climb the Hollywood sign, which seems impossible, but then they’re all helping each other and dragging each other up to the top so they can stand up there together??? Nice.
i love that a core message of netflix's hollywood is showing how important it is for minorities to be given hope through media. and not only did this show rewrite that time period to give the people back then hope, which is powerful in itself; this show is that hopeful piece of media for us now!!! because to this day we still haven't gotten anything quite as high quality, optimistic, and blatantly supportive of representation as this. standing ovation!!!
JAKE PICKING AND JEREMY POPE in Hollywood (1x01)
And to everybody listening, your story is important. You are important. Your life has value. You go out and you live your life with your head held high, and you tell your story, ‘cause I’m proof that there are folks out there who want to hear it. | HOLLYWOOD - “A Hollywood Ending”
DARREN CRISS as RAYMND AINSLEY in every episode of HLLYWD (2020): Hooray For Hollywood: Part 2
I’m gonna change the way they make movies in this town. I’m gonna make sure that people like us aren’t on the outside looking in anymore.
