fluff #5 and angst #10 with either chan or lix 🥺
5. "oh you're jealous!" + 10. "do you even still love me?"
you knew that, of course. you basically signed up for not seeing each other often when you agreed to date him, and yet…
at this point, it has been a full week of nothing - ignored texts, no phonecalls, not seeing him at all. you understood his need to work, his dedication and the amount of stress he's under.
but the least he could do is text you back.
maybe he's just overly busy, you try to comfort yourself. if it wasn't for you being busy as well, you would've already went and paid him a visit. for now, you've resorted to anxiously staring at your phone for most of the way, waiting for anything. a call, a text, anything to elevate your worries a little bit. you don't want to bombard him with texts anymore either, scared of being overbearing.
the one thing that you didn't expect to happen, was for chan to start spamming his social media with pictures of him and one of his best friends. you raise your eyebrows in suspicion upon seeing them, hoping that perhaps, if he is hanging out with someone, maybe he will finally talk to you.
he does visit you however, and while you are happy to finally see him again, it doesn't stop jealousy from curling its ugly hands around your throat. and jealousy might be a strong word to use - you could never be jealous of changbin, knowing how much chan values him as a friend, but that still doesn't mean him blatantly ignoring you doesn't hurt.
chan, watchful as always, instantly notices something is wrong. the way you barely hug him back in greeting, and the flat tone of your voice when you ask him if he wants some tea; it worries him slightly.
you stand with your back turned to him as you wait for the water to boil, nervously chewing on your bottom lip before deciding to just get it over with. "i'm glad you had fun with changbin yesterday," you tell him, hoping your voice won't betray you. you're unsure what you feel. hurt, maybe even a little angry. a part of you is scared that perhaps chan just doesn't want you anymore.
your boyfriend lets out a breathy chuckle at your comment. "yeah, it was great-- wait," he stops himself suddenly, walking up to stand next to you. "is that what this is about? is that why you're acting all weird?" his voice doesn't show any emotion in particular, but something about it ticks you off.
"i'm the one acting weird?" you scoff, raising your eyebrows in mild annoyance and once again turning your back to him, rifling through the cabinets to find the tea and sugar.
chan huffs a bitter laugh. "i think i know what your problem is," he says, attempting to walk around you so that you'd look at him. "you're jealous. is that it?" from his voice, he seems to be in disbelief, and that only sets you off more.
you slam the cupboard shut harder that intended, finally turning to face him. "this isn't about me being jealous!" you exclaim in frustration. chan looks slightly taken aback, but doesn't say anything. "it's about the fact that you haven't spoken to me in over a week but somehow still found time to hang out with someone!"
chan softens visibly at that, reaching out to you. "baby…"
"no, let me finish," you say, stepping away from him. your throat's starting to tighten, but you need to get it off your chest before you cry. "i know you're busy, i understand that you need to work and i don't expect to have your attention on the time. but you ignoring me for a whole week, worrying the hell out of me and then finding the time to spend time with changbin? do you even still love me, chan?" your rant ends with frustrated tears filling your eyes and you wrap your eyes around yourself. you think that maybe, just maybe, you're being a little overdramatic, but goddamn, you're hurt and you need to express it.
"of course, angel," chan says softly, placing a hand on your arm gently, barely touching in case you felt uncomfortable. "i love you more than anything. and i'm sorry for making you feel this way and i'm sorry for ignoring you."
you stare at him in silence, failing at trying to blink the tears away from your eyes; you look away from him and focus on the floor once they fall down your cheeks.
"baby," he whispers, remorse clear in his eyes. "i really am sorry. i barely left the studio for the whole week, and binnie took me by surprise because he dragged me out of there-- but i know it doesn't matter. i shouldn't have ignored you either way. i know you must've been worried, angel, and i'm sorry."
you take in a shaky breath, wiping your tears with shaky hands and looking at him again. "from now on, can you at least let me know you're busy? so i don't have to be worried about you?"
chan genuinely looks like he's about to cry as he cups your face with one hand and leans in closer. "of course, honey," he says, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to your forehead. "i'll keep you updated at all times, hell- i can even call you everyday if you need me to. whatever you need."
"i just need you to be here," you choke out, leaning into his touch as more tears fall. you missed it, missed his touch and his voice and despite everything that's happened, you feel glad to be with him again.
chan wraps his arms around you tightly, rocking the two of you side to side lightly. "i will. i promise you, i will."
thank you so much for requesting, i hope you enjoyed it<3
