In the event that this blog gains traction, I’d like to share a few things about myself.
First and foremost, you should know that everything I write here is based on my own thoughts of and experiences with astrology. Most of what I describe is based on my own interactions with people who have the described signs and placements. As such, nothing I say here should be taken as unbiased truth.
Next, I’ve seen other users sharing DNI (do not interact) lists. It didn’t occur to me that I would need to disclose this, but I’m a member of the LGBT+ community. Please do not interact with me or my blog if you take issue with this.
Finally, I love astrology discourse and would be happy to share my thoughts with you or listen to your thoughts. If ever I drop into your space and comment/reblog something of yours, please take it as a standing invitation to talk to me. :)
I am currently unemployed due to the pandemic so I've really thrown myself into job-searching, hence my absence here.
The applications have put me off of writing altogether for the time being.
Thank you for bearing with me. Obviously finding employment is my top priority at the moment, but (hopefully) once I find a job I'll have the time and energy to resume writing here with you all.
Is Cancer Venus and Libra Venus usually a good match? The cancer Venus is my crush, Libra is me. My sun/moon/rising/mars are all fire and hers are all air. I don’t know much about water venuses from experience.
First, I want to preface that any match can work out if you’re willing to put the time and effort into it. While chart comparisons can reveal strengths and weaknesses in a relationship, any challenge presented can be overcome.
Second, I want to note that love matching is pretty subjective, so my view will be biased.
Cancer, ruled by the Moon, is intuitive and emotional. Cancer Venus, then, is a sentimental and nurturing sign. However, I’ve always heard that Cancer Venus is also very cautious about who they love. This is because, like the crab that symbolizes Cancer, they are protective of themselves.
They need a partner that is both emotionally intelligent and intuitive.
Libra Venus is a true romantic. These people are also sentimental and loving. They may commit fast, but their commitment is lasting and genuine.
I think the biggest conflict here would be that Libra wants to jump right in, and Cancer may want to move more slowly in order to keep themselves safe from potential heartbreak.
Otherwise, I think this is a lovely match. Cancer and Libra are both very affectionate signs; and when Cancer wants to withdraw, I think Libra will have the emotional sensitivity to understand that. As an added bonus, fire and air signs generally work very well together, fueling each other’s best qualities.
Hi in your last astro observation post you said 8th house placements are rarely satisfied and that they crave deep and full understanding, so not something that is just superficial and you gave to examples with sun and venus. I wonder what would that be like for mercury in the 8th house? - curious pisces mercury 😁
Mercury reflect one’s intellectual and communicative nature.
While I haven’t known anyone with Mercury in the 8th house, I would hazard a guess that people with this placement would have a ravenous academic nature. They might delve into a specific subject, such as astrology, and spend their time trying to understand not just the surface-level knowledge you’d get in an intro course, but the deeper, underlying mechanisms of the practice.
For these people, it’s their intellect that can’t be sated. And, of course, it may not be academics that they hone in on.
Since Mercury is astute and observational, these people might find themselves watching and analyzing other people instead of poring over books and videos explaining different topics. They might be curious about others’ motivations, interests, and behaviors. I would think this would be more likely for a Pisces Mercury, since Pisces is compassionate and interested in people.
Wow thank you so much. Everything you listed really gives me some clarity about myself. I knew some of these things based of off my personality, but I never knew what made me that way. Thank you for helping me.
Gemini Venus is known for being flighty – only interested as long as things stay interesting. I’ve found that this placement comes into conflict with my Taurus Sun and Scorpio Moon, two placements which so thoroughly desire stability and commitment.
Gemini Venus is social and excited by the opportunity to learn and know others. As I make new friends, this placement sometimes acts up: “Oh! Look! We’re falling in love again!”
Of course, this sets off alarm bells and my Scorpio Moon steps in to evaluate. Sometimes, this placement becomes confused as well. Blinded by the excitement – or even obsessed with the prospect – of knowing and being known by someone new.
Luckily, at my foundation, Taurus is eager to stamp down on this with trademark earthen practicality: “In love again, are we? We’d rather have a relationship with this person than our current partner?” Scorpio Moon objects, aghast. Gemini Venus quiets.
In the end, I remember that love is not the rush of becoming intimate with another person. What I’m feeling is not a romantic inclination but rather the platonic intimacy from which friendship blooms.
Thank you so much. This is anon from earlier. I am an Scorpio sun, Aquarius moon, and Sagittarius rising.
Okay, I’m going to break this down a decent amount so it’s easier to put the components together. This is going to be rather long, and it’s not even close to comprehensive. However, it should provide a decent foundation for you as you continue to explore yourself through astrology.
Let’s start at the beginning:
Scorpio = mysterious, magnetic, deep
Sun = representative of one’s core ego
Aquarius = aloof, intelligent, unique
Moon = representative of one’s emotional and intuitive nature
Sagittarius = bold, excitable, adventurous
Rising = indicative of how the native appears to others at a glance
Now that we have each of the components, I’ll put them together but view them independently:
Scorpio Sun
As the fixed water sign, Scorpio is often equated to the ocean: powerful and mysterious, with the capacity to be gentle or rough depending on the sway of the native’s emotions.
These people actively seek depth in others. The truest form of intimacy to them is to know someone deeply – and to be known deeply, in turn. Scorpio often feels misunderstood, however. This leads them to test potential friends and lovers before opening up. Once a Scorpio’s trust is won, these natives are fiercely loyal and protective.
The dark side of Scorpio’s desire for understanding is their penchant for obsessive behavior. Scorpio can become so entirely wrapped up in someone that the lines between them and their friend or lover become blurred. They can be smothering, drowning their friends just like the ocean.
Of course, this obsessive nature goes both ways. Other people are just as likely to be drawn in by Scorpio’s magnetic, mysterious allure. I’ve found that Scorpios can be obsessed over just as often as they can become obsessive.
Aquarius Moon
In a word, Aquarius is unique. These individuals see the value in the unconventional and odd, and have a tendency to possess these qualities themselves. They are intellectual, and this nature can make them seem detached and aloof. In my experience, I’ve found that these people are just as loyal as any other fixed sign despite the rumors otherwise.
An Aquarius Moon might have a difficult time with their emotions because Aquarius is analytical and emotions are not always so easy to dissect and interpret. As such, they may come across as robotic, keeping their emotions under lock and key.
The positive side of this is that they can remain calm even under dire circumstances, thinking rationally and making plans to deal with whatever comes their way. The downside, of course, is that they seem distant and cold to others.
Of course, that’s not true at all. Aquarius Moons are often compassionate, going so far as to take up crusades to help others. They have a humanitarian nature and often have dreams of a better future for the entirety of mankind.
Sagittarius Rising
Sagittarius is marked by a bold, bright personality. As one’s rising sign, this would mean that the native comes across to others as adventurous and exciting.
These are the people who make everything more interesting for themselves and their friends. They don’t hold back – they enjoy almost everything they do and their passion carries them through life and often gains them a following of friends.
To others, you may resemble fireworks. Loud, interesting, shedding light all around you. They admire the optimism and enthusiasm you bring and tend to flock toward your positivity.
Of course, Sagittarius’s boldness can turn into brashness. These natives sometimes get in trouble for saying exactly what they think, whether or not it’s tactful. They can attract drama due to their energetic, rule-shirking disposition.
A Sagittarius is never boring.
Okay, all together now:
People are attracted to your bold nature. Like moths to a flame, they want to be near you. However, they may feel you keep them at arm’s length when it really counts. It’s possible that your Aquarius Moon makes you seem distant and aloof, when really it lends its compassionate nature to your already passionate nature. You may have trouble opening up to others, potentially because you don’t trust that other people will truly understand and accept you. As you draw people in, you may find yourself testing them, making sure you don’t open up to the wrong person. Once you have opened up, however, people will see that you have great emotional depth, as every Scorpio does. You’ll prove to be an intense, intimate person with a unique, humanitarian outlook.
Hey I’m trying to understand myself more and I thought astrology is a good foundation. I got my sun, moon, and rising off of time passages. Do you mind if I tell you them, and you give some info on them. If no then that’s ok.
Absolutely. You can send them, and I'll do my best to talk you through them so you have a place to start. 💙
Fav sign romantically or even platonically for me is Scorpio, hands down. I've been attracted to/I attracted them my whole life, before I even started being interested in astrology enough to notice. I mean, Scorpio men can honestly be... too much sometimes imo, but idk I feel so lucky I attract so many of them 😂 Sagittarius are also fun. I'm a Virgo Sun Cancer moon & rising and Scorpio Mars. And I'm in a 5-years relationship with a Scorpio moon & stellium, no wonder 😂
Oh God, I feel this.
I've always been so drawn to Scorpios. I blame it on my Scorpio Moon, honestly. I love intense people.
My SO is a Scorpio stellium also, and he's so wonderfully devoted.
Anyway, I could totally see this with your Virgo Sun and Cancer Moon. I mean, Scorpio is tumultuous but somehow also incredibly reliable. They're also very understanding and emotionally intense which might make them especially appealing to a Cancer Moon.
I love Gemini suns with Leo moons they just ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I haven’t had the best experiences with Leo Moons. My mom is a Leo Moon, and she was very emotionally overwhelming for young me.
That being said, I can imagine a Gemini Sun + Leo Moon person being so exciting and interesting! Drama follows Gemini around, and Leo can be really dramatic. I think having a friend with these placements might be like being a bystander in a soap opera. 😂
What do you think of a girl with a Libra Rising/Leo MC?
In short, I think she’s incredible.
I’m a huge supporter of Libra Risings, possibly because the love of my life is a Libra Rising. I’m biased, it’s true – but how could I not be?
When these placements are both expressed, the Libran principles of diplomacy and fairness compliment Leo’s confidence and leadership wonderfully.
These natives are poised and gracious, but display a marked boldness which makes them good friends and leaders. They have an innate sense of justice and tend to project an image of generosity and kindness.
While Libra can be indecisive or otherwise uninterested in conflict, Leo’s fiery nature leads these people to act upon their morals. I have a lot of respect for these natives (when they express both of these placements, anyway).
gemini!!! as a gemini i find other geminis to be great besties
That's so cute! This gives me strong academia vibes, for some reason.
Gemini people are so intellectual and they can carry a conversation about anything. The Gemini I know is fascinated by just about every topic (she settled on chemistry and information sciences in university) and always has an opinion to share.
Anyway, I can really picture two Geminis sprawled out on a couch, having a million conversations at once. 💙
Hi, what are your thoughts on Cancer moon in 12th house? :)
Cancer Moons, in my experience, are very sentimental and romantic people. As the rumors say, they tend to be very sensitive and in touch with their emotions. With this placement in the 12th house (realm of the unconscious), these traits might not be as clear-cut in you as they are in other Cancer Moons. You might be particularly intuitive about others’ feelings and simultaneously oblivious to – or often overwhelmed by – your own. Your empathic nature may also have you seeking shelter from other emotional people.
Over all, I think people with this placement have a lot to contend with. They’re sensitive and need time to themselves but also want to help others. They may find themselves the center of attention because of their unique ability to make others feel understood.
That being said, Cancer placements can usually take care of themselves. These people are frequently underestimated because of their emotional nature, but I’ve always found them to be strong and resilient.
