This is kind of on the sad and dark side of the spectrum, but how you think the tlc couples would react to their partners deaths? Do you think they'd gradually heal through time or would they permanently stay depressed? I don't know, I've always wondered about how'd they get through life if their partners died.
You are talking about peaceful, passed-in-their-sleep-when-they’re-a-hundred-and-two deaths, right? Because I refuse to imagine anything else for our poor, abused revolutionaries. They’ve been through enough.
I’m not sure any of them would really grieve forever (with the possible exception of Wolf). Of course they would miss their other half, but most people who lose their partners do eventually heal. It’s a long, difficult process and it’s different for everyone, but most do manage to move on someday and I think that’s how most of our gang would react. It would be harder for some than for others, but they would all have their various coping mechanisms.
Cinder, Scarlet, Jacin, and Kai would probably retreat into work, whether it be tinkering with antique engines or doting on a fresh crop of tomato plants. Staying busy helps.
Cress and Winter would retreat into memory, spending many happy hours looking over old photo albums and remembering the good times they had with their significant others.
Thorne would reach out to his remaining loved ones—children, grandchildren, remaining members of the Rampion crew—to distract himself by spending extra time with them. So would Wolf, to some extent.
Ultimately, Wolf and Jacin would have the worst time dealing with the loss of a loved one. They had the dependent relationships and it would take them the longest to recover from their losses. Both would likely experience a period of withdrawl from life around them before they could recover enough to move on.
