djinnbyul:
『 ☽ eye for an eye ☾ 』 starter for @lunaxyoona – ! 🃏
He swore that he was paying attention, he really did. His complete and total attention was on the meeting, the information, the importance of this reunion for both Haengunwi Chil and Neugdaedeul. His mind did not stray, it did not stir, it didn’t think of anything else.
Not at the way the leader of the opposing gang fixed her hair so gracefully.
Not at the way she held herself with such poise, demanding respect but ever-so effortlessly.
And certainly not at the way her intensely sharp eyes would pierce him every time she glanced towards him.
The djinn was sitting at a table in the middle of this emptied out bar, between representatives for his gang, Haengunwi Chil, and the leader of Neugdaedeul, along with some of their other members. This was a rare situation, as the five notorious gangs rarely, if ever, meet up on good terms. However, this time the aforementioned members of Neugdaedeul had requested the help of The Seven of Luck. They were here to find out more information as to how the gang notorious for slight of hands did their dirty work. How they managed to con patrons out of their hard earned money time and time agin.
Eunbyul, especially, was being put to the plate. Being a gambler and a con-man for the gang meant that he had a lot of valuable information to offer. Yet, he found himself sitting still at the table. Mind and heart clearly not focused on the situation at hand.
Feeling those intense eyes on him once again, he fumbled through his thoughts. At a complete and total loss for words. Feeling as though he was losing his handle on the situation, and his cool, he shut his eyes and craned his neck left and right – giving the illusion that he was cooly loosening the tight muscles. But in reality, he was just about ready to sprint out of his seat and out onto the streets, where the cold winter wind would blow him somewhere far away. It was when he heard the sound of throats being cleared, of voices calling his name, that he snapped back to reality and looked around with heavy lidded eyes.
“So…,” feeling panic slowly build up within him, he tried to stall for as long as he could, “let me get this right…”
Shifting his gaze from either member Neugdaedeul, he took his time before looking straight into the eyes of the source of his strayed mind, “You want advice from us, to help you con people? What do we get out of it?”
Bold. Maybe a little too bold for someone who had just spent the last ten minutes wondering what color palette would best suit the beauty that sat before him. Wondering just how cruel it would be if he painted her – her beauty could never be captured.
the meeting at hand was an interesting one for yoona. while neugdaedeul had strengths that she had great pride for, they had moments in which they lacked stealth and charisma. maybe that was the natural clumsiness of wolves coming through. this meeting could be really beneficial.
yoona had mostly kept seated back, listening to the exchanges from the two gangs. the members that she had brought were still on the new side, and she had thought that this could be a good experience for the two of them. the three members of haengunwi chil who had sat with them seemed trust worthy. she had kept looking between them to get a feel of their character out.
except the third member seemed a bit hard to place. she couldn’t tell if he was disinterested, or distracted. when his gang members directed their attention to him, she was curious to see what he had to say.
when he finally spoke up she looked to him intently. he had seemed to be taking his time with the question, but when it had finally left him she was left more intrigued than before. this was the type of communication that she preferred. she enjoyed more direct and straight to the point dialog. why were they there, and what did they both want. that’s what they needed to know, that was the point of this entire meeting.
her colleagues seemed thrown off but the bold question. they had both stammered for a moment before yoona leaned forward. she raised her had a few inches off the table to ease her subordinates. she would handle this one for them. they likely weren’t anticipating a question with that tenacity. the corners of her mouth raised with a smile. “well i suppose that depends on what you ask for.”
“your name is eunbyul, right?” she had made sure to remember all of their names. honestly had no idea what the seven of luck wanted out of this, but this was where she would figure that out hopefully. “if you’re asking what we have to offer, eunbyul, it’s various things. weapons, knowledge, we could even take a few targets out if you should need.”
the leader kept her eyes fixated on the young man that had asked the question as she spoke. until she finally broke the eye contact and brought it to eunbyul’s other members. “what is it that you guys would like? i’m sure we can come to some kind of agreement.”
