He half-glanced back into the rather gloomy corridor before giving a nonchalant shrug as an answer. "I don't believe she is. Sorry, son." His voice showed know apology, maybe a small, almost invisible hint of desperation that this kid would leave. Pressing his chapped lips together.

His eyes were deeply shaded by his brows, like staring into two abysses. Any smile he offered was quickly taken back, each one clearly forced, twisted even. "So, uh, run along now, kiddo."

Just then a shorter women with dark hair carefully pushed passed the prince, trying not to drop the overflowing content of her grocery bags. After made her way to the door, she turned to him, giving him a soft smile. Yes, she had blue eyes like the ocean, like Triss'. "Hello there." Her voice seemed rather empty, yet somewhat welcoming. "You must be Hans. I'm Lian, Triss' mother. Would you like to come in? I could fix you up a some tea."
