"Ava/Izanami" - shinto goddess of death and creation as her human counterpart in my friend's book. Background represents the barren underworld she lives in, baby on fire represents the birth that cost her her life and the child her husband killed, spears on the top represent the spears she and her husband used to crate their world and the islands of Japan.

"XOCHI aka Xochipilli" Aztec god of sexuality, youth, homosexuality, performing arms, flowers, nature, and psychedelic plants. All the flowers i drew can be found on the original statues of him in Mexico City. He's highly suggestive with the popped fly cuz in my friend's book He's a bit of a "pick me boy" who spends most of his time trying to get the affection of one of the more powerful gods.

Aside from thirsting over my buddy's Michael fassbender version of the god of creation, I've also become OBSESSED with his portrayal of the Aztec god, Xochipilli - god of youth, sex, fertily, passion, homsexuality, nature and flowers. So of course I had to draw him 🫠

So my best friend from like the 6th grade wrote a fantasy novel and has asked me to read it for any punctuation errors and to illustrate it/make an alternative cover.

The absolute best part about this is thirsting over the characters he has written (which involve God's and goddesses from all different cultures) and then discussing via text msg.
