Julian hummed. âWhy is that?â He knew it wasnât really any of his business as to why this woman was struggling with life right now, but Julian tended to be more curious then he should be.Â
His fingers wrapped around the crystal glass and he tipped some of the amber liquid into his mouth. âYouâre going to find nothing but a hangover at the bottom of that glass.âJulian replies, shifting his gaze to her. âWhat kind of work do you do thatâs got you questioning everything then, huh?â
CHRIST, SHE wished she could tell him the whole shpiel, but it would give away more than she wanted to, so instead she went as vague as possible, âMy husband left and Iâm still trying to pick up the pieces.â
Her shoulders lift in a shrug, running her tongue along her teeth for a moment. It was the truth, just not all of it -- nothing to do with her affiliations or the work sheâs doing now outside of business hours -- and she seems satisfied with leaving it at that.
With the offered change of subject, at least in a way, she offers a smile and shakes her head, âIâm a Nurse, so I have a lot of late nights and patch jobs that are... less than ideal.â
Once again, not the whole truth, but enough of it, âWhat about you? Why are you here two fingers deep in whiskey?â
Julian frequented the bars quiet often. It was something to waste time, but he enjoyed the people watching. He always found it interesting, wondering if heâd ever see a persons face again when a job would come up. Sliding himself into the bar stool, he watched the dark haired woman curiously before holding up two fingers and asking the bar tender for two whiskeys.Â
âMust of been something important to have you so transfixed like that.â He grinned slightly as his fingers tapped against the glass filled with amber liquid. âBut, I get it. Sometimes the world in our head is better than the real one.â
âJUST MY life in its state of shambles.â Lucy offered without a second-thought -- she really should learn to think before she speaks -- then laughs to try to shake it off as a joke.
A finger trailed against the rim of her own glass, before cupping it in both hands and working her thumbnail against a small, microscopic chip in the outside, âIâm hoping to find something a little more exciting in this scotch than I found in my day at work, I suppose.â
â NO  NEED  TO  APOLOGIZE,  SWEETHEART.  i  hadnât  said  anythingâ  not  to  you  anyway. â     the  only  words  that  came  from  his  mouth  had  been  to  the  bartender  after  all.  no  attention  was  paid  to  the  one  he  took  a  seat  beside.  however,  now  that  he  could  get  a  good  look  at  herâ  wellâ  she  definitely  had  his  FULL  attention  now  with  his  beer  forgotten  momentarily.
â which  is  clearly  a  grievous  mistake  on  my  part. â     he  offered  a  hand  out  to  her.     â luka  sokolov. â
SHE QUIRKED a small smile at his sudden interest, shaking her head. It wasnât that she was unaware of her attractiveness, but she often pushed that aside and became the harbinger of her own doom. The smile faltered at the thought of her missing husband -- but truly fuck him, at this point -- before she offered, âNice to meet you, Luka; Iâm Lucy.â
Their names were similar, and part of her wanted to point that out -- reveal the inner dork inside of her far too soon into a conversation, but instead she went much more lame.
LUCY WASNâT one for making herself very open in public; as much as she loved attention and desperately wanted to crawl out of her own shell and get back into the swing of things, she often just kept to herself... even when out and about.
With a drink in hand and her eyes down on the battered wood-grain of the bar top, Lu barely even noticed as someone took a seat next to her, only making any recognition when a drink was set in front of them and caught the corner of her eye, âChrist... sorry, if you said anything to me I was in my own little world.â
two things. one, iâll join the discord this weekend and try to keep up and two, if you want a thread or to plot with Lucy or Lilah, let me know please! Send me a message. <3 Iâve been dealing with some insomnia but Iâm settling in for some stuff tomorrow if it kills me. ilu
claudia was due to go out in less than fifteen minutes. she was already done up, her hair and makeup always the first priority, and figured she was well overdue for a break. three private dances already done for the night, she hoped no one would be inclined to argue.Â
thatâs how she came to be standing out in the cool air, on a balcony, appreciating the night sky. her short robe was pulled tight around her ( hiding lavender lace but not the heels sheâd paired with it ) and doing an alright job at warding off the chill. she didnât smoke, an aversion to the memories it brought up more than an aversion to anything else, but she imagined it might be a fitting visual.Â
hearing the door behind her open, claudia looked over her shoulder and smiled softly, âkeep me company before i head back in?â
SHE ALWAYS found herself out of sorts, as if the world was always trying to spin her around like a child playing pin the tail on the donkey; disoriented was her default state of being, so ending up outside when she had never really intended to be there was par for the course.
Before she could turn to slip back in though, a voice caught her ears and she pursed her lips faintly. Being polite wouldnât kill her, regardless of where sheâd found herself and how that HADNâT been the plan. Still, she paused, tugging her coat tightly around her to ward off the chill trying to seep into her bones.
Wrong part of town at the wrong time -- sheâd only meant to pop in to check on a friend but they hadnât even been there. Good way to get yourself in trouble, Lu.
âI mean, itâs a little cold out here, but... far be it for me to be rude.â Finally Lucy stepped forward towards Claudia, shoving her hands deep into her coat pockets and offering a wan smile, âWhy would you choose to stand out here? Arenât you freezing?â
( sarah shahi, 40, character cisfemale, she/her ) Was that LUCY RUSSO ? I heard a rumor they work for the FAUST family, but who knows for sure ? they can be a bit RECLUSIVE & RETICENT, but I also heard they can be KIND & LOYAL. youâll usually find them at THE DEN in their spare time, when theyâre not being a MEDIC. you may want to keep an eye on that one !
hi, iâm drea and iâll be playing this multi-layered babe, Lucy Russo!
Lucy was born and raised in Chicago
She went to med school and ended up becoming a registered nurse; she works long hours and makes good money, itâs a pretty decent set up.
She got married relatively young and was head over heels.
Her husband got involved in the Faust familyâs business and then, without telling her, disappeared; itâs assumed he died but sheâs fairly certain he just went dark and got away.
sheâs still not entirely clear what he did for the family and it led her to realize that maybe things werenât as good as she thought.
She was too inundated to leave the family (or so she told herself) and signed on as a medic for them.
She spends way too much time at the Den because she loves watching fights.
Not quite as innocent as sheâd have everyone believe, but she is very kind underneath her penchant for blood and violent.
Has a couple of dogs, Charles and Major, oneâs a beagle and the other is a pitbull.
Sheâd legitimately die for those animals, just so everyoneâs aware.
this is not an overstatement, she would die for her dogs.
Sheâs always on call for Faust so if someone gets injured, feel free to call her up.
Thereâs layers man, someone dig into em.
Connections and plot ideas
I do wanna see my girl romanced again at some point, itâd be fun amidst all the d drama and chaos.
People who knew her husband before he bailed and either continue to hate or love her based on him.
he wasnât a bad dude but he was a flake, hence the disappearance. I mean he was a bad dude in general given his proclivities, but... overall.
Pet friends. If you have animals sheâll probably be more inclined to like you or trust you.
Friends from the past -- this can be filled by anyone who grew up in Chicago and those who she might have known from before.
New friends she made after her husband dipped and she put her life back together.
Fighters from the Den would probably know her well enough because she offers to tend to them after fights and this could be an inroads.Â
Almost all of these can be doubled up on if you want to work multiple hooks into a character plot.
Anything you WANT because I just want to write her and plot!
Message me if you want to plot or have something in mind!
