So, LUSH inspired cocktails. Interesting! These could be decent! However I feel they need some additional ingredients to actually be more like the LUSH products they're trying to imitate. Example: You've been Mangoed smells like lemongrass, NOT mangoes. Even with the lemon in the cocktail, it's going to smell like a lassi not "you've been mangoed." Better addition: make the simple syrup on the stovetop and toss in some bruised lemongrass stalk bits. TADA! Better.

While I don’t disagree about a potential response, the wording itself wasn’t explicitly “made up" by Lush, Doriansennui. You can read about the story here. (And also, Dajeerling/Sikkim peoples aren’t usually considered “Asian.")
You are completely and utterly wrong.
1. I don’t care who “made up" the story or whether it came from “authentic" sources or whatever. That’s not the point. The point is that Lush is a Western (read: white) corporation selling its goods to Western (read: white) customers by using a “story" that plays on some really awful stereotypes of Asian women. The racial dynamics are incredibly gross not to mention the slut-shaming in the story. The story may very well have actually happened, but nobody is forcing Lush to repeat a story with such awful stereotypes. They chose to repeat stereotypes about Asian women. They decided that making money was more important than recognizing my humanity.  And that needs to change.Â
2. You don’t get to decide how women of color identify. The state of Sikkim is in India which has always been a part of the ASIAN continent. You don’t have to look a certain way to be Asian; you literally just have to originate from people who lived on the continent of Asia.Â
3. I resent you adding the title “Sikkim Girls = Racist?" to my original post. When I as an Asian women tell you that I was taken aback by this company’s blatant racism, your response should not be to pretend like this topic is open for debate. Just like you don’t get to decide what constitutes an “Asian", you don’t get to decide whether stereotypes are actually offensive or imply that we can’t identify situations in which we have been othered.Â
1. My point is that people should be respectful of races; even their own. So. If an Asian person tells a story to a white person as a "tip" they shouldn't tell one that perpetuates stereotypes then. You're right no one is forcing them. But LUSH likes funny "pseudo-sexual" stories; the humor for them is likely in the story iteslf (son-in-law running off) rather than the race/ethnicity of the people in the story. They'd probably have named it "Jersey Girls" too if they heard the story there. Again, not saying it's fantastic, but there are far bigger problems in the cosmetics industry.
2. There's a reason I even PUT region in quotes in my response. It's usually incorrect to say that Sikkim people are "Asian." That just shows YOUR racial irreverence to what the people want to be called. Just because it shows on a map a certain way, doesn't mean that should be the end. Jews also don't usually like being called Middle Eastern, though it's in that "region." 3. I added a title in order to spark a conversation (which I clearly did) and also for it to have an easy subject line to see on a page. You're right I don't get to decide. But ALSO AS AN ASIAN WOMAN, you shouldn't speak for our "race" either. Who made YOU the voice?
How do you guys feel about the new Beach Box gift? I love the idea, but only "like" some of the products in there (eg wish there was more Dream Cream less Sea Spray).

Lush US report to Lush UK in terms of this kind of stuff (product descriptions, etc), and if you think Lush UK will listen to your serious concerns on such matters then you clearly haven’t been paying attention lately. They won’t, because they don’t care.
We’re talking about the same people who recently sold a bath bomb that was meant to be reminiscent of a dead corpse shot down by a drone.

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub by Lush
I am absolutely in love with this stuff. There’s a reason it’s the top seller at Lush. It smells amazing, leaves your skin feeling super soft, lightens your skin tone noticeably, and doesn’t feel too abrasive while you’re using it. I literally have no complaints about this product whatsoever. Looks like another goo to add to the cabinet for weekly use. Â
Seriously this product is a life-saver, especially on my poor winter-dulled skin. Don't forget if you buy a brand new pot to STIR IT! The coarsest salt is on top, so you want to mix it in. :)

...I went out around the city in search of a different storage solution for my Lush stuff. My boyfriend was the one who spotted this three tier cupcake stand, and for only $20, I couldn’t not snatch it up!
My Lush stash is so small right now, but come next pay check, I’ll have the extra money to replenish it a bit :) I also bought a shower tension caddy for storing my body washes, soaps, and shampoos.
Today, Lush NA launched it’s new campaign that highlights all of the lovely products with rose as a main ingredient! I’m personally thrilled — rose is my #1 favorite ingredient in Lush products!!
